My Heart Pounds Faster Than My Feet For You (Dark Light***)
Hurricane lowered his ears, making it harder for his jockey to put the blue and orange mask on him. "Hurricane! Do you want to win or not?" His annoyed rider asked, shoving it over his dark colored ears. At the word 'win' Hurricane cooperated. He always wanted to win.
Once he was in the stall, he kept his ears perked for the starting bell. He saw frisky rookie horses that had dumb luck, and managed to get to the Expert class. All the pro racers raced earlier, and Hurricane was stuck with the rookies. He pushed out of the gates as the bell rank, and a sting on his rump sent him flying ahead of all the others.
He laid his ears back, pushing himself ot the limit. His muscles strained, keeping him ahead of the others. He went severl laps, resting when he was far ahead and beat the fasted one by quite a bit.
"Good job!" His jockey yelled, patting his neck and quickly dismoutning. He led him over to a water trough, taking the mask off before Hurricane could drink. "And Hurricane wins again!" He heard thr announcer repeat.
Long after the race was over, Hurricane was safely sleeping in his stall. He heard his jockey talking to a big racing company. "No! hurricane doesn't get along with other horses, espescially mares!" He snapped, pacing. After hard arguing, the jockey sighed. "Only if she beats him, then their foal may be created." And he hung up, patting his stallion on the nose. 'Sorry boy."

Golden Heart hadn't raced with the rookies because she cooperated with her jockey. She had raced earlier with the pros. Golden Heart had been racing for year after year and had never had time to have a foal. Only today did she get the chance to have a mate. Golden Heart had a chance to mate with a very nice horse, Hurricane. The name made her tremble with excitement. Only when her manager came back to her and said "Sorry girl. Looks like another year gone, without a foal. Unless you feel up to a challenge." At the word challenge, Golden Heart perked up and eyed the manager suspiciously. The manager laughed and said "Let's get you training...if you wanna beat Hurricane." Golden Heart stopped and looked inquisitively at the manager. The manager told her that she had to beat Hurricane in order for her to be able to mate with him. Golden Heat walked out of her stall when the manager opened it and walked over to the phone. She knocked the phone out of it's hanger and whinnied. The manager picked up the phone and dialed the number again. "Hello. It's Golden Heart's manager, Joey. I'm calling back to tell you that Golden Heart is up for the challenge. The race is on. Should they see each other before they race, so thy know what they are racing for?" Golden Heart whinnied in the background and Joey said "That would be Golden Heart. Her jockey is actually a woman named, Tara. She's up for the challenge too. so what do ya say? Is the race on?" Golden Heart looked intently at her manager and nickered into the phone.

Hurricane nuzzled his jockey, wondering what was wrong. "No, Hurricane does best without other horse contact. And should we split the money fifty fifty for the foal?" He asked, patting his horse. "He is up for anything, and funny horse you got there." He laughed at the horses whickering in the backround.
He took Hurricane out to the pasture, still talking. "In 3 days, they will race. Prepare Golden Heart, I will prepare Year of The Hurricane." He hung up, yelling at the trainer.
Hurricane panted as he ran on the horse sturdy tread mill. He was sweating, foam lathering his coat, but he was still going strong. His well muscled legs pounded on the moving belt, and he smirked at a mare. She was panting, and slowing down. Soon, she stepped off. "Gotta keep up, slow poke." Soon after, his jockey was pushing him on the track.
They raced well into the night, using track light and moon light to let him see.
As he was tucked into his stall, he drank as much water as he possibly could, and let him head rest on the door, drifting off to sleep.

The manager answered the man and said "Yeah, 50/50. And yeah. Golden Heart has quite a personality." The man hung up and said "Golden Heart, you up for a little late night training?" Golden Heart whinnied with delight and Tara walked her out of the stall.
Golden Heart was out on the track racing the training horses until finally, she'd had enough. She jerked to a stop and huffed a breath. Amateurs she thought. She had been winning every race by miles. She was tired of it. She wanted some competition. Golden Heart only hoped that time would go by faster so that she can race some actual professional material. The jockey yelled at her and kicked her sides but Golden Heart didn't budge. She was tired of racing such...losers. She couldn't stand their absolute slowness! It was nauseating to her. It made her wanna puke. Golden Heart slowly walked to the finish line and still beat the training horse. Tara looked back and said "I get it. You're tired of their 'amateur' pace." Tara yelled to the trainer, "Speed her up a bit. Gold is gettin kinda bored of the horse's amateur pace." The trainer nodded and sped the horse up. This is more like it! thought Golden Heart.
Golden Heart bolted ahead and found out that the training horses were faster than she thought. She was beat by a nose. Golden Heart shook her head in disbelief and Tara quickly said, "Let's start from the gates. This time, for real." Tara leaned over Golden Heart and whispered "We gotta win, Gold. We just gotta." Golden Heart trotted to the gates and inside them. The gates flung open and Golden Heart began at a very good pace. She was beating the training horse by just a bit. Then as they got close to the finish, Golden Heart gave it her all and won by a 'mile'. Tara couldn't believe it...and screamed. "Did you let us win?" said Tara. The trainers eyes were as big as dinner plates and he shook his head 'no.' Tara's eyes widened and she screamed...again. Then the trainer said "This is a famous horse that rarely ever lost a race...and Golden Heart beat him..." Tara screamed again and said "You did it Gold! You did it!"
