i started to wake up and my vision was clearing. I looked around, trying to figure out where i was. The only thing i remember was a huge, dark stallion, some roughness.....then pain.....then i blacked out. I shook my head, trying ot remember.... He was a forcer! He forced me to breed with and i refused, so he banged me around alittle until i was too weak to get away. I stood myself up and shook out my mane, tail and coat, caked with dust, a few bruises. I snorted in anger, mad at how foolish i was. I was just 2 1/2 years old, lost and confused.
So i started walking, to where.... i dont know...just somewhere away from this place...

I saw a poor dirty mare in the distance. she was young, so i went to see if she was alright. "are you alright darling?" i ask her

Magnolia~
I wobble on my weak legs "im fine.." i lied to her. Then burst out in tears. "oh who am i kidding im a mess now!" i hung my head. "I was forced by a huge clydesdale stallion...he was too strong...i couldnt get away. Im only 2 1/2 and have my whole life ahead of me, now im gonna have to throw it away because im pregnant. and not with just any foal... a HUGE foal. Im just a quarter horse, a small one cuz of my age. I dont know what im gonna do..." i cried

I looked at her, concerned. "you will make it through this!" i encouraged her. "i will stay with you, through the pregnancy, through the birth, and taking care of the foal. Ive witnessed and helped in many births, i will help you if you need me" i smiled and gently nuzzled her. "Now, we need to get you to some shade where you can rest" i said. I took her over to an overhang, and motioned her to lay down.

(a few months later)
I layed down and looked at my belly, already large with the huge foal inside me. "Its way too big..." i cried. I might as well go jump off a cliff, im gonna die anyways.." i wept

"you are a strong mare! you need to be confident and believe you can do this!" i said encouragingly, even though i knew she might be right. "i told you, i will try to help if you need me" i smiled

Magnolia~
It had been almost 11 months now, and my stomach was so huge i could hardly move. I felt a pain tear dowm my side and water gushed out of me. "the baby is coming!" i said and then paced around, trying to find a spot to lay down. i layed down and cried in pain. I was only a minute into the birth and i was already overwhelmed with pain. A contraction came and i pushed. a hoof came out. then another hoof and the rest of the leg and a nose. I screamed in pain as it started to emerge from me. I pushed and pushed, but it wouldnt come out any further. "the leg is hooked up!" i said. i felt lilac pull on it, bringing it through as i grunted in pain. I kept pushing, sweat dripping down my whole body. My sides heaved up and down, and i pushed once more but the foal was too big. I screamed in pain as it stretched out my hole more than it should be. I pushed and pushed, but it was stuck tight. Finally, i stopped struggling, knowing it was no use.

"Keep pushing! dont give up!" i urged her. I gently but firmly grabbed the two legs, and gave a hard pull. "Push!!!" i said "I will help you pull it out but if you dont push it wont come out!" i pulled on the foals legs

I was tired, but i tried to push. "I....cant...." i sighed, out of breath. I screamed in pain as i felt her pull the stuck foal, pulling my body along with it. I pushed and pushed, making little progress. It burned so bad. "whatever you do, get it out!!" i screamed. I pushed as hard as i could. "GET out of ME!!!!!" i screamed and grunted as the foals head neck and leg emerged. I pushed and pushed and finally the shoulders came through, but it tore my hole. I neighed as the foal escaped my body. Then i just layed there, my body almost lifeless.

I sighed in relief when the foal came out. But it wasnt moving. I nudged it. "Come on, get up!" i cried. Then the foal moved a little. "Thank goodness!" i said, and then started cleaning it off. "Magnolia, i will take care of the foal for now, just rest" i said and started nuzzling the foal. When i got no reply form magnolia, i went over to her. "are you okay??" i asked.

"is the foal....okay?" i said weakly.

Lilac~
"yes, shes fine. are you ok?" i asked her, then looked back and saw blood on the ground. "Just stay with me! your foal needs you!" i said

I was too weak to speak or move. I just closed my eyes, and faded away. Soon i stopped breathing and my heart stopped beating.

Lilac~
"no! no! dont....leave" i said, but i already knew she was gone. I looked back at the foal and cried. "Im sorry baby" i wept. "I promise i will take care of you" i said. Luckily, my body went through a false pregnancy, so i had enough milk to feed her. I nudged her to stand, and then let her suckle. "Lets go" i said, leading her away from the lifeless bloody body on the ground
