Personality: She's a kind, loyal, and charming person. She doesn't talk to strangers much, and she finds it hard to open up to people at first, but after she gets to know them she's perfectly fine with sharing all of her secrets. Akira doesn't believe in having something to hide from her closest companions. She loves unconditionally, and though it is hard to get her to open up at first, she allows herself to indulge in others at quite a rapid pace--so fast a pace that some may consider it reckless. She doesn't hate, hold grudges, or put down other people. She takes her mother's traits of being a generous person, and is willing to help anybody less fortunate than she, no matter the cost. She helps children in Iraq, sending an organization monthly checks so the children can have bedding, food, and toys.
History: Akira's mother died when she was 4 years old, in childbirth to her younger brother (Tatsuo). After Akira's mother's death, her father became a drunk, quitting (well, getting fired from) his job and treating Akira and her baby brother horridly. At the age of 11, she took her brother (at 7 years), and ran away from home. Akira and her brother wandered pretty aimlessly, with the money she'd taken from her safety deposit that was hidden in her father's closet, in a box that her mother had hidden. It had originally been intended as a college fund, but there was a few hundred dollars, and Akira took it with her while she ran. Almost a year later, Akira and Tatsuo were found and adopted into a family that already had 5 children.
Akira became an outcast from the family, although Tatsuo fit right in. When she turned 15, she got into the habit of cutting, but never let anybody know about it. She hid herself from people, dyed her hair, got a few ear piercings, and a tattoo on her right shoulder that was a banner reading 'never regret' over a heart that had stitches in numerous places. She also got into singing, and majored in voice lessons in college. As soon as college was over, she became a songwriter, and sold her songs for usually outrageous prices, and a few people took the bait. Her second carreer is working at the Melting Pot, but she prefers singing, and sometimes gets gigs at local karaoke stands or, occasionally, bars. Her trademark clothing is large-framed black glasses (with no lenses, seeing as she has 20/20 vision).
