Jade noded and followed her wondering what the queen might do when they got there. As they walked through the forest listaning to the birds. He had thought about what the queen may ask of San. When we aprocehd the villige Jade grabed San's arm but not to tightly and they walked toured the walls souronding the town. Once they where in the villige squar the queen aproched and greated San like a friend but she really was being sarcastic. A guard took San and Eboshi kept talking as San faought back. Jade tried to keep still as she struggled, it would just be harder on her wound. The guard asked her to stay still. "I see so you were shot in the chest not the arm, my woman must have a better aim than the men wouldn't you think so Jade?" Eboshi said turnign to look at him. He looked at San palying along giving her a trusting glance "I couldn't agrea more." He said glaring at the guard he used bows so he was not insulting himself. "What do you plan to do with her?" He asked-

"I want a trade her family for the head of the forest spirit...you know where he dwells" "He left long ago Eboshi" she said and kept struggling against the guard blood seeping through a bit but she couldn't care less.... "Then I want you to find the forest spirit and bring me his head, your senses and instinct are sharp princess of the wolves in return we'll let your family free, but only when you bring back the head" You can't kill a god Eboshi and you will gain nothing from it that-" a hand was put over her mouth and she bit hard and glared at the guard angrily but did not speak anymore not feeling too good now she sat herself down. "Also to make sure you go I'm sending Jade with you in order to make sure you get that head" said Eboshi... San looked up and gave a weak nod as she stayed where she was " You'll have a horse waiting for you in the morning, I'm kind enough to let you rest put it that way." said Eboshi.. San gave a final snarl before they let her hands go and stumbling slightly in the porcess... "I want to see them, let me them" she said "Fine" said Eboshi and the guard lead her to where the wolves were and her brothers went over and nuzzled and licked her whimpering adn licked the blood from her dess clenaing it a bit "Thank you Shin, Shinji... I'll be back soon ok?" "So she finally asked you?" "Yes mother" answered San.."Take care of yourself, San.. Go back to the forest and rest up" said Mor giving her duaghter a final lick and nuzzle. San was quickly kicked outside the gate and she went back to the forest and tended to the wound which had gotten worse...

She cleaned it up quickly and found something to tied around her chest to use as a bandage before she found some food stores left by her family eating a small bit of meat and bits of fruits she curled up under the wolf fur she wore to keep warm missing the warmth of her mother and brothers dearly. The forest that night was silent no wolves to sing and San kept curled up everything kicking in as she cried softly.

Eboshi turned back to Jade "i congradulate you on catching her, you must know where she dwells so you can go get her on your horse in the morning" said Eboshi "rest up and prepare yourself she said and walked out of the room the guards followed a few escorted Jade out though.

Jade

As the queen exsplaned what she wanted I stood watching San seeing she kept struggling. Shaking my slightly I tried to get a point across it help nothing just made her wound worser. I stop to look at the queen again....bring back the head of a forest sprit. Why? It made no sense what good would it do her? I stay where I am as she exsplanes what we are to do. It is when she say's I must join San that catches my atention. Suddenly San asks if she can see her family. As gaurds watch her closly she walks over to the large wolfs who come up to her and great her. They tell her to rest up and to keep herself safe, I see San is upset and understand this would be more hard than I thought. Atlest I could help San on her jurny.

That night I kept neer the hut but did not sleep inside, I couldn't sleep anyway. San kept crying and guards where near by watching to make sure she didn't run away or do anything to free her family. I roll over and see she's making quit a fuss. Sighing I think how hard this is going to be. The next morning I got up and made sure the forest pony I sed to carry suplys was ready, Butch was a palomino with large droopy eyes. His blong forlock covered most of his face. I rubed his coat with a cloth sweeping the dust off then left him ground tied to tell San we where ready to leave...

San walked out rather upset still sicne she hadn't been sperated from any of her family for her entire life and hated the fact they were in danger. She didn't speak a word and just walked ahead a bit wanting to get out of there quickly she treked through her own forest which made her calm down a lot. She sniffed the air lightly picking a path so that Butch would be ok knowing that Jade could pretty much follow reguardless of the path she took.
She soon got near the centre "Wait here, I have to get some things" she said softly and darted towards her home on the island and picked out her spear and dagger quickly before returning adn then jsut walked ahead again trying to think of where the forest spirit might be...

Ian walked quietly wondering if she really would kill the spirt, but then how do you kill a spirt? He wated as she left to go get her gear and stayed with Butch who's atention was quickly caought by a small patch of green grass....

As he wated he looked abou the forest wondering how they would find the spirt. When she suddenly returned he gave her a small smile "Don't worry well find him or her." He said reasuringly. "So where will we find this spirt?" He asked as he pulled Butches rope halter gently and lead him forward down the trail-

"I don't know he left the forest a few days ago, So I don't know he never said and left Mother incharge of protecting the forest" said San softly "All we can do is travel from forest to forest... The ones that are rich with kodama's will bea likely place like this one.. They show that a forest is healthy and he dwells in healthy forests" she said and walked swiftly through the forest little tree spirits or kodama's (the white things in her picture on the first post) walked along side them all different from one another seperating to go to their mother the trees. It was an enchanting place made anyone wonder why they were hurting it.
When Night came they were still only half way through the forest taking a small detour she took them to the lake where they would be able to rest "This used to be where he dwelled and the forest spirit is not a spirit his a god" she said "Just like mother but looks like an elk with a human face"

Morolifted her head hearing the screams of the dying forest she whined and so did her sons.

Jay listened as she talked about the sprit and where they might find him. "Well It's a good thing I'm a hunet if this takes longer than I think it will I will be able to hunt." When they stopped for the night he tied Butch up to a branch as he stood in the small stream to cool his limbs. Then went to sit near by San. He raised a brown when she said Elk with a human face "That will be a first for me, I have seen elk before but not with a human face." He had collected wood for a fire, it wouldn't matter if there was smoke no one had to follow them and it would keep the animals away/ "So Uh....how are you a human but your realted to a wolf?" He asked "I'm not related to a dear so it makes no since." He hunted dear which was the biggest his kill ever got so it was the first exsample that poped into his head-

"Not many have even heard of the forest spirit but he controls life and death" she said softly and as to how I'm related to the wolves but I'm still human well..." She said giving a sigh "When I was a few days old my human parents defiled this forest Mother came to warn them to get out instead the yleft me here to be killed but as you can see instead she raised me with her two young pups and has done for nearly 18 years now" said San "Which is why I hate human even more, no mother should abandond her young when it needs her in order to survive" said San as she helped make a small fire nad then went over to Butch to say hello touching him gently and softly so he didn' fear her...

Jade frowned "Sometimes we do things we shouldn't, I know your part of your clan or pack but your still human. I mean your there family and that will never change." I said refuring to the wolves "They love you and your doing this for them, not all mothers do bad things. Acutlly more mothers do what they can for the children than most." He said "Father's are the same." He paused "But don't you relize if your mother hadn't left you...well you would never have been part of the wolves family she would never have ended up taking you in." He said "Just think maybe it was sapouse to happen." Jade frowned "I lost my mother a long time ago, my father died in a hunting acadent." He said "I don't use guns beacuse he was shot by one, most of our family used bows and arrows and tracked on foot." He said- watching Butch he said "Butch there is my pal or travel mate I found him near the mines, mostly called pit poneys his dam died from cuases unknown to me but I remember finding him in the mud, he was all dirty and short." He smiled a little "He's a eater loves to snack or grass anyway." He said. The pony sniffed the girl for a moment "He likes you."

"Well I just got the worst out of the lot when it came" she said "I haven't seen any mother abandoning heir children or heard them being eaten when they were left ehre either other creature would eat the whole" she said sternly "Think of it this way you knew your real mother and father.. Mother doesn't know where my real parents are she showed me them once when I was old enough to remember.. they easily replaced me I'll tell you that" she said a bit bitterly "and those guns are not as accurate either I'll give you that, a lot of them have been shot by acciendent and still are and they get thrown in here to get eaten" she snapped a bit. San kept stroking Butch quite content just staying there with the ponies "You like food huh? reminds me of Shin" she laughed softly and pulled the bags off him resting them on a strong tree. Looking up to the kodamama's "Look after the stuff ok?" she asked and they made a clicking sound before she sat down digging her spear into the ground beside her just thinking carefuly. "I get along better with anythign that is not human" she muttered

"Well I guess I don't count then." I laugh, "I'm no where near being civil, I pretty wild most of the time." I said smiling. "Butch does like to grass though." I puased "But I really didn't know my mother that well, she died when I was probably ten. And dad was still pretty young." I said noding. Lying back in the grass I said looking at her "What do you like most about the forest? I think it's reall quite at night and cool and in the day warm and well no matter where you go it's untamed wilderness, I swear I find a new spot everyday." I said. "Butch likes the rivers most of all, I think beacuse it's cool and since he's got a thick coat it feels good. I like walking off the trails, I guess it's the sense of adventure." I said-

"I like the beauty of it at night, new creatures come out and the forest changes from such a pure beauty to one that is more hidden and elusive" she said giving a soft sigh. "and for him not to graze is not normal I'm afraid maybe there is something wrong with him" she said looking to the full moon which had rested itself neatly in the sky. San knew every inch for the wolves had shown her their territory throughout the years knowing where the purest of water were and the freshest of fruits and what time everything would bloom and grow food was something she knew off by heart now. "I know every inch of this forest from the darkest of cave the the most purest of rivers where you can see the moon clearly and where you can hide from the sun" she said

He smiled "I wouldn't be surprised." He had no doubt the forest was no starnger to her. "I use to walk during the day through the woods but I like it at night when no one else is out to take kill from me or to get in my way, I don't hunt more than I need most of the time I sell kill to the town butcher but I ushaly hunt to feed myself." He looked at the pony "And he does have a big apatite, he loves oats a treat I can't affored all the time, hot mash is what I give him during the cold days of winter." He said "I think the woods are very nice to be, more that what most would think." He said noding "The sky is very nice to look at." He said looking up where no tree branches where in the way-

"your right on that we usually move during the night now as well proabbly why you saw mother out here that time" she said and gave a soft sigh "wild oats grow in the forest bu not in feilds just in small patches if you look hard enough you can find them" she said before she walked back over and sat down beside the fire to dry off a little and get some sleep before the morning came... She soon just went to sleep without a word and curled into a ball with the white wolf fur keeping her warm once again.

Morning-

Jade- When I woke I went to take care of Butch and feed him, grass and the small bag of coped straw. They where pretty much the same but the mixture was diffrent than what he ate in the mornings. After rubing his coat with the cloth I used to clean all the dust and dirt off I untied him and lead him into camp the re-load the bag's of our belonging's onto his back. Looking over at San I said "Time to wake up." I went back to sucuring the straps that held the bag's before turning my head to look at her "We can eat while we walk." After putting the fire out with dirt I returned to Butch and waited for San to get ready-

(sorry it took me to long got two new member's and advertised like on 40 site's today and afflited with some one then had to read a bita sign up on proboards to see what it would do to my site when it was installed even when I don't want it but I have no choice)

San graoned and rolled onto her back adn sitting up she rustled her hair and then stood up and picked up her spear and laid it on her back and shook her head sniffing the air easily picking where they were in the forest and soon started walking again. It took a good few day until they were out of that forest and soon on the trails and she was a bit uncomfortable being on them so she wasn't sure where to go before she sniffed the air she really didn't want to kill the forest spirit she knew what would happen and how much death a destruction would be caused.

Jade- Walking with her I thought for a moment about the spirt "So what happen's when you kill the spirt and how do you kill the spirt?" I asked thoughtfuly "I mean a spirt isn't really human but there spirt's so they are difrent....right I mean do you have to do something in order to kill it beside travel for day's through the forest and then kill it after searching for it in the forest?" I stopped for a moment looking around as I patted Butche's neck-

"The forest spirit is a god, haven't I already said this, and I don't know" she said just not wanting to think about it she said walking on the otherside of butch and scratching Butch lightly behind one of his ears as they walked not wanting to be seen by the village they were passing at all and because seh wasn't entirely sure where to go from here so was just thinking carefully about what to do.
She soon had to think about what they would do for the night since they couldn#t camp in the middle of the road and she knew no one out here as well...

"Okay okay calm down." I frown and keep leading Butch down the path, she was just confused and had a lot on her mind better keep quite I thought. "Let's rest in the clearing over there, just to get a breather then be on our way?" I said turning Butch around "We can always stop here for the night as well, I can go into that villiage and get us some food for the night to, butch might want something besides wild weeds even though he eat's it a lot but hey he's been carrying this stuff the whoel trip a treat might make him more happy." "yeah" she said not spekaign much now she was outside her comfort zone and headed towards the clearing and sat herself down just thinking a little about where he would go next...
She turned heairng something and went to take a look finding nothing much she soon turned ehr back and spotted something... it was the forest spirit.. she walked up and spoke to him softly rubbing his elk fur softly and gently but it did not speak only looked to ehr with soft understanding but old eyes...

I tied Butch up after unpacking the supplies on his back and was about to leave to go get more supplies for the rest of our jurny. "Do you want anytihng?" My back was turned as I untied the pourch of little money I had brought and then turned when she hadn't awnsered. Something or someone was standing before her, she was talking to it as well. Standing up slowly butch watched the animal closly. It was built like that of an elk. I didn't move though, was this the forest spirit we where lookign for?

She shook her head "No thanks, I can find what I need here" she said and scratched the elk softlytrailing her hands up it's antlers and smiled before it just troted off and she followed it clambering up the trees but did not see any tree spirits and sighed stopped and sat in the tree and fiddled with some leaves. The was indeed the forest spirit but she would not let it get killed let alone kill it herself so she was thinking up a different plan.

If she was going to do this whole run off by myself thing I was not going to let her. I forgot the villige and followe dher into the woods with my bow and arrows on my back. I left Butch grazing in the clearing and went to follow the trail she was leaving, not very visable but enough for me to know where she was headed. I would not atact anything I would leave the spirit up to her, I didn't even know much about it-

San knew he was following her she could smell him behind her but soon she stopped and sat herself down beside a river and cupped water in her hands to drink and whined a little she soon lay back and closed her eyes just thinking and wanting to be left alone for a little while she soon opened her eyes and looked to him. "I'm not going to run off I have no reason to but you don't need to follow me" she said sternly a little annyoed that he had as well and it shwoed in the tone of her voice.

"And I'm aware you always seem to know when and who someone is following you." I say smiling a little. I stop next to the spot she chose to rest and looked down at her "So what now?" I asked. I sat down in the grass cross legged letting my box lay across my lap. I pluck at the tightly drawn string and wait for her reply wondering how she would work this all out. "You know we can't go back empty handed." I said- it was not a question more of a statment, one she knew but I was curiose.
