Re: A Kiss InThe Rain
Scyren sucked in a breath when he saw the blood on his mother's palm. He almost yelled at the she-elf, when she did the same to herself. He cocked an eyebrow and stared at his mother's face as its color finally came back, and he vaguely noticed the paling of the woman that was helping his mother. "That's---" Scyren stopped himself. Was it enough? Scyren bit his lip gently, seeing she was obviously in pain, and he wondered if he could lend her any strength. "Do... you need help?" He whispered almost inaudibly.

I shake my head at him, "You owe me" I say weakly and take a deep breath. Murmuring a few more words in the language. I pull my hand away from hers, and the cut on her hand healed quickly. The glow of the crystal disappeared. I wipe the blood from my hand on my white dress and take the crystal from the Queen's hand. Her eyes opened slowly as I stood. Gripping on of the pillars in the room for support and brushing a strand of my auburn hair from my eyes. Watching the two and threading the chain back into the crystal. A bit of it clouded from the magik it had used. I didn't use magik, just my own strength and health. The crystal was the magik that switched my strength and health with hers.

Scyren barely heard her, and he rushed over to his mother's side, scooting along the bed gently and hugging his mother. "You... gah, mother! i thought you were going to die and that Zuzen was going to have to take over the kingdom..." Scyren grimaced and turned to see her in her weakened state. "Here, come this way." Scyren wrapped his arm around her waist and led her from the room. "Let me give you a room until you regain your strength." He offered, but wasn't about to take a no for an answer. It was the least he could do for the day.

I couldn't help a smile at his relief, and was relieved myself when he offered me a room. I walk out of the room with his help and into another room. "Thank you" I say and look around the room. It was nice. Really nice. I sigh softly and collapse into the fluffy bed that smelled of soap. Rolling over onto my belly and curling up into the feathered pillow. Falling asleep almost immediately.

Scyren stared at her sleeping form for a moment before leaving the room reluctantly and going back to see his mother, who was now sitting upright in bed.
"Tell her I said thank you," Scyren almost cried at the sound of his mother's silky smooth, quiet voice.
He nodded deftly, "I have to get her food. I'll have to wake her in a while... She needs to eat something." Scyren left his mother's room and went down to the kitchens to have the cooks fix her some food.

I woke after a few minutes of sleep and sit up in the bed. Feeling much better now, but not 100%. My stomach growled at me, but I ignored it. Sliding off the tall bed and wandering outside the room. I open up the door to the Queen's chamber quietly and slowly. She was sitting up in the bed and seemed healthy. "How are you doing?" I asked her, stepping inside softly and warily looking over at the guards. They were situated in the corner and weren't trying to hide their scutiny.

Scyren was busied downstairs getting dinner ready for the she-elf.
Scyren's mother, Cecilia, looked up and tilted her head gently. "Well, thank you," she smiled sweetly and patted the bed beside her before staring out the window once more. "How are you feeling? You look faint...." Cecelia's air almost came off as creepy, but she was always like that. She'd been distant, despite her beauty and true personality.

Her voice reminded me of my own mothers, and I immediately took a seat beside her on the bed. "I am feeling alright, thank you ma'am" I say politely. She was so perfect. It was hard to believe she was even human. Even after sleeping for however long she had been, she looked crisp and awake. Though slightly distant. "Are you ok?" I ask her. Wondering if she was always this way.

Cecilia turned her head and looked at the she-elf for a moment, "That's good," she said sweetly. "What's your name?" Cecilia turned her head back and stared out the window, barely moving anything else but her head. Her hands were folded neatly in her lap as she stared as the last rays of sunshine disappeared. "I'm fine..." Cecilia smiled gently.
Scyren walked up the stairs with the tray of food in his hands.

"Raiiel" I say softly "And yours?" I return the question politely and look out the window as well. Trying to see what it was she was looking at but only seeing the courtyard. Confusion tickled me slightly before I heard the tapping of someone climbing the stairs. Was that Scyren? If so, would he be upset that I was with his mom?

Cecilia turned and smiled at the girl as soon as the sun had set, having not spoken for a few minutes. "That's a pretty name, dearest." Cecilia never told her what her name was, as Scyren opened the door, arms empty, yet crossed.
"I thought you'd be in your room, resting. So I put a try of food in there." Scyren said simply before turning and leaving back into her room. He wanted to talk with her.

My mocha brown eyes turned to Scyren's figure, arms crossed, and leaning against the wood. "Ok" I say and turn to the Queen "It was a pleasure to speak with you" I flash a bright smile and walk out of the room. I turn down the hall and walk into my room. Scyren was waiting for me inside. I take the tray to the bed and sit cross-legged on the fluffy blankets. Grabbing a piece of the cornish hen and taking a large bite from it. I didn't say anything to him, but knew he had something to say to me. He was mad. He is probably mad that I was visiting with his mother...

Scyren was going to tell her off, and yell his head off until he was satisfied, but Scyren instead sighed and leaned against the wall as she ate. "You know she needs rest," he said softly. "And you need rest, too. I think it'd be best if you didn't visit her until she's fully recooperated, as well as yourself. I'd appreciate it." Scyren nodded his head to her slightly then stalked from the room, speaking over his shoulder, "When you're done eating, ring the bell by the bed and a servant will come and take your things."

He was mad of course. I swallow the food and continue "She wasn't sleeping anyway. She won't stop looking out the window." I say and nod at his words as he leaves the room. Taking another bite of the mini-chicken and setting the food down on the plate. I take a forkful of potatoes and continue to eat the meal until finished. When I was done, I pushed the button and set the tray on the bed. Standing up, I walk out of the room and down the stairs to explore the castle.

Scyren shook his head, "She does that quite often. Ever since father died. Just because she isn't sleeping, doesn't mean she's well." Scyren left then, and walked outside to the gardens, walking around with his hands behind his back.

I pass a window and see Scyren out in the garden. I argued with myself, then pushed the door open and walked out to where he was. "Does your brother live here in this castle?" I ask him softly, looking up at him from the side. There was a small creek trickling to my left, and the scent of pollen and fruit to my right.

Scyren turned and looked at her, before turning back and staring at the trickling water. He stiffened when she brought up the discussion of his brother. After a few moments, he sighed and said, "No. He doesn't. He's elsewhere, finishing his travels and his studies." Scyren grimaced and turned away from him. He sighed. "Oh, my brother.... Once a wonderful big brother... but..." Scyren trailed off.

"Go on" I urge, now intrigued "You can trust me" I say. Could he? I doubt he believed he could, but he could. I hated to admit it, but he was actually growing on me. He was nice when you knew him and when he wasn't trying to save his mother.

Re: A Kiss InThe Rain
Scyren kicked a rock and sat down, facing away from her. "I... I'm afraid it's not a very pretty story." Scyren sighed and cupped his face in his hands. "He was a wonderful big brother at one time, like I said. He taught me everything he knew. I didn't mind having his hand-me-downs. I felt like a king in his clothes," Scyren chuckled. "I was never jealous of him, not even when I was in his shadow all the time. Nobody knew Scyren. Nobody cared about him. But did I care? No. My brother cared about me. He gave me more attention and love than I could ever ask for." Scyren sighed. "But then reality hit. I grew older, became jealous and withdrawn from him. And yet I grew older, and I got married. She was beautiful, Lyra. She was my whole world. We had a child together... We were so blissfully happy... But it was my brother's turn to be jealous...." Scyren trailed off and groaned slightly. He didn't know if he could continue.

I watch as he sits down and begins the story. Sitting down on a cool rock and placing my chin in my hands as I listen to his story. When he stops, I nod and give him time. It must've been really bad. Scyren seemed like a pretty strong man, one that could handle alot, so this must've been shattering to him. My dark brown eyes drift to the water and I dip my fingers inside it. It's cool smooth texture licked at my fingers and caused the pattern of the ripples to change around my finger's presence.

Scyren drew in a shaky breathe, "Zuzen, my brother. He was jealous of Lyra. He was jealous of our daughter. He was jealous of everything I had, and everything I was. He thought that there was no better way to get to where I was than to take it from me." Scyren felt tears pushing at the back of his eyes. "He took her. He took Lyra. He .... he raped her, and she had a son for him..." Scyren shook his head, clenching his teeth. "He promised her... he said if she complied with him, he'd give her back to me, and so she did. But Zuzen lied. He killed her, and he came back and killed our daughter." Scyren hid his face in his hands, and drew another shaky breath, a tear slipping down his cheek.

I wince at his story, and felt the urge to comfort him. I forced the urge away "I'm sorry" I say quietly and brush a strand of hair from my cheek. Tucking it gently behind my ear and looking up to see a guard watching me. I glare at him, and he steps around the corner. I knew he was still listening though. They simply didn't trust me.

Scyren took in a deep, centering breath and wiped his tears off with the back of his hand, and lifted his head. "It's all right..." he murmured gently, staring out over the small creek. "It's... over now. I can't do anything to take back what happened." Scyren turned to look at her, "What was your history? I believe I have a right to know, now that I've told you mine." He gave her a weak smile.

I smile small at him when he says he should know "It's not really that interesting" I start and turn to look at him. "When I was little, my mom left me in the forest. It wasn't that bad, because she had taught me how to live and everything else. The only thing she didn't explain, was the crystal. Sure, she told me to pass it on to my daughter when I had one, but she said nothing more. For several years I lived without meeting anyone else, until I turned 14. Then, I had wandered to the other side of this forest and met a traveler from a small little village. The man and I became good friends, and I showed him the tricks of the forest and how to appreciate it. He was nice, funny, and the company I needed. Soon, though, he had to return home to his wife and kids. Reluctantly, I stayed back in the forest and continued on with my life. His wife, I believe her name was Teresa, met me on one of the trails one day. I hadn't known who she was before she talked to me and told me the traveler was sick. I didn't know how I could help him, but I went with her. That's when I learned about the crystal and how I knew by instinct how to use it. After he was healed though, I left. Not wanting to know him much after he recovered. I guess I didn't want to be known by anyone. Anyway, I lived the rest of the time in the forest, meeting a few people who wandered through the forest, but they never stayed long. And that's it" I say with a shrug. It was a really simple life.

Intruiged, Scyren listened carefully. Scyren's mind reeled for a moment. A traveler in the woods, she'd healed. Maybe she hadn't been the annoyince bitch he'd thought she'd been. Scyren suddenly blurted out without thinking, "Did you love him?" Scyren turned to face her, without saying sorry. He was genuinely curious.
