Long History, Short Time

Belle kicked out in her small stall, the doors seemed to close in on her making her panic. There were men everywhere yelling, getting ready for another auction. Belle's nostrils flared and horses whinnied loudly excited by the commotion, but Belle knew this wasn't anything excited to be about. They had gotten her fattened up nicely for the auction but it didn't help heal the scars on her once beautiful golden coat. Her rump was still covered in dirt as she didn't let any of the stables hands get anywhere close to her. She backed away from the door, as one of the hands came into her stall. He grabbed her halter roughly and pull her out of her stall. Belle resisted pulling back and neighing loudly, even starting to half rear. Another hand grabbed a whip and slapped her rump with it. Belle bolted out of the stall and followed the hand, her head high and the whites of her eyes were seen clearley. She entered a loud arena where the hand led her around. She looked around seeing all of the faces watching her. She started to back up and rear again, the hand pulling her head down roughly again. She came back onto fours and bobbed her head, trying to get away from the loud and small round pen.

Ellie~
Ellie had bidded the most she could on every auction, but failed each time, she saw a palomino horse come stepping in to the pen,"Wow! shes beatiful!" she whispered to herself, as the horse ran around the pen, as the bid numbers flew by she bid up to 600 pounds, but, she didnt know that she had won the horse...

Belle's nostrils flared, pawing the dirt. A lather of sweat covered her body. The auctioneer shouted "and 600 pounds going twice...sold!" The handler took Belle out of the pen, and she gladely followed. She was put back into her stall and Belle let out a long breath lowering her head.

She went around to the back to see if I could get in, but then She remebered how the Auction man had said that the horse had been sold for £600, Her eyes lit up, she had won the Mare, She peered over, making a clicking sound with her tounge, she said softly "Here Girl!".

Belle heard the clicking noise and her head shot up, she saw a young girl standing in front of her stall and she backed away from it going to the very back of it

"Its okay, I wont hurt you!, I wont let them meanies near you!" I said calmly, I grabbed a slice of apple from my pocket, "Here." I said Offering her the apple.

Belle stood there for a few seconds before outstreching her neck, as far as she could and took a step towards her hand, she sniffed it before taking the apple in her mouth and crunching on it.

"Good girl" she said, a man came up to me and said she was fine to be loaded onto the trailer, she nodded at him and looked back at the poor palomiono's coat, It was Grey and brown with dirt, and the pinkish coloured scars on her pelt. "I think the name Belle would suit you well!" she said slowly reaching her hand into the stall to let her smell her hand.

Belle snorted and retreated back to her stall when the man came by. She watched him with wide eyes until he left. When the girl put her hand into the stall she reached out her neck again sniffing it carefully. Then snorting and pawing the ground

She laughed as she pawed the ground, She quickly ran to go and get her new halter and lead, A man grabbed them off her and went up to Belle's stall and opened the gate. "Your welcome!" she called to him, Sarcasticly.

Belle watched her go and stuck her head out the stall. When the man started to get near he she started to half rear , kicking out her hooves.

He put a halter on the mare and said firmly "Steady! Come on, move!" Ellie ran up to the man and said "Okay, dont be so harsh on the poor frietened thing!" she pushed the man out of the way and carefully grabbed the reins, she carefully reasured her and clenched the reins tightly, she nuged the mare forward, patting her neck, dust flying everywhere.

Belle backed up even more trying to get away from the man by pulling her head back. When Ellie came up and got him away from him, she calmed down slighly. Her nostrils still flaring when she pet her, she moved forward following Ellie

Ellie~
Ellie said "Good girl, atleast you'll be away from this nasty place!" she said walking near to the trailer, Ellie was wondering if Belle would like the looks of the horse box, because most horses dont, she came to the trailer, she said gently, "Come on girl, dont be scared! the sooner the trips over, the sooner your outta this thing!" I said filling her haynet with hay.

Belle walked with Ellie until she got into the sight of the trailer, she immediately stopped. Leaning back against the lead rope and throwing her head up. Her ears went up slightly at the sound of Ellie's voice but she wouldn't budge.

"Ohhh,Come on old girl! I wont hurt you like all of them handelers over there did!" she clicked her tounge a couple of times, and pulled the halter gently.

Belle eyed the trailer, clearly scared. She half reared before coming down again taking a step towards it when Ellie pulled her, but she skidded to the side. when she got closer.


Brad was walking down the road about to get into his truck, he was working at the barn as they had the auction today. They had some pretty good sales. He looked to his side and saw a girl struggling with the palomino he had given a few carrots to out of pity. The horse looked like it was about to bolt. He turned and started going towards them "need some help?" he called out to her

"If you dont mind!" I called out to him.

Belle backed up some more eyeing the trailer.

Brad came up beside Ellie and held up his hands in a calming gesture "woah girl, woah girl" he repeated to her until she stopped breathing so heavily. "give me the lead rope" he said quietly.

I carefully handed the lead rope and stepped aside.

Belle eyed the man that just took her lead rope

Brad pulled out a carrot from his back pocket "here girl you want this" he said putting it under her nose

Belle pulled out her neck and tried to take the carrot from him

Brad backed up making his way to the trailer "you gotta come get it" he said

Belle cautisouly followed him

Her mouth dropped open, about how she could of done that with the apple that was left in her pocket,"Thanks, I couldnt of done it without you!" I said amazed.

Brad got Belle into the trailer and gave her the carrot also showing her the hay, he stepped out and smiled at her "Its fine, no big deal" he said closing the door of the trailer.

Ellie~
Ellie smiled and said "Goodbye, We should keep in touch!" as She got into the car, She started the engine and wound down the window, She waved to him as She drove out of the driveway.Ellie turned on the stereo and mimed the words to a song, She was hoping that Belle was okay in the trailer, and that she wasnt bouncing or wobbling around that much.

Brad got into his own truck and smiled at her "sure no problem" he yelled out the window before driving away.

Belle felt the ground moving under neath her and her head shot up and she started pawing the hard metal under her, she snorted and looked out the small window on the side of the trailer
