Mardi Gras Mambo!

OOC~ I need a male character for Rebecca's love interest.

Her pink fingernails covered in powdered sugar, a young brunette woman sat in Cafe Du Monde, eating beignets.
Her name was Rebecca Byron., but her friends and family called her Becka. She lived in New orleans, AKA The Crescent City.
It was exactly seven days before Mardi Gras came to town, and purple, green, and yellow decorated the whole city.

The cafe was packed, like usual, with people craving the French Doughnuts. They were worth the wait, though.
Becka finished one of her three treats, picking up the second. New Orleans was flooded with tourists, their foreign accents in her ears. A couple from New Jersey sat to Rebecca's left, chatting about how they were staying at this wonderful hotel, and
telling each other what was the best drinks to get, and which bars were they best in the Quarter. Some people. Becka knew you only go to bars on Bourbon, not in the French Quarter.

Rebecca finished her last beignet, and grabbed her purse, ready to leave. She paid her waitress and bid goodbye to her.
Stepping out onto the sidewalk, Becka plodded forward, trying to stay out of people's way. Rebecca passed a costume shop, remembering that she needed a costume for her friend Michelle's party. She walked in, looking at the merchandise.

Becka found a hot pick dress that matched her fingernails. She looked at the price tag. $100. It was very cheap for a
Mardi Gras costume. Rebecca grabbed it, found a matching silver mask and shoes, and bought them, only paying $237 for it all.

"Now I need a date."

Blake faintly felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, and groggily sat up, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He pulled the phone out of his pocket, and saw that Michelle had texted him. You r coming to the party tonight, right? He sighed, and laid back on the pillow. What should he say? He didnt want to, but Michelle had personally invited him, and was counting on him coming. What time? He texted back. He then stood up and walked to the mirror. He straightened his shirt, and ran a comb through his dark hair. It was good enough. He then grabbed his wallet and exited his apartment, walking down the street aimlessly. As he walked by a store, he saw an attractive young woman standing in the store, buying a bright pink dress and a mask. He was drawn inside, and entered the store, wanting a closer look at her.

Twirling around, with her new purchases in her hand, Rebecca almost bumped, and knocked down, a very attractive young man.

"Sorry, I'm sorta a clutz."

Becka moved a stray peice of hair from in front of her green eyes, and sha0shayed to the side of him.

"You, look familiar..."

She knew this guy, but couldn't place who he was.

"I'm Rebecca Byron."

Becka stuck out her hand, which still had powdered suger on her fingertips, and waited for him to shake it.

I smiled, my white teeth flashing. I had no idea who she was, but decided not to let her see that. "Brian Mcale." I shook her hand, a small smile on my face as powdered sugar transfered from hand to hand. Looking around the store, I decided I needed something to wear tonight. "I have a question. Say, I was going to be celabrating Mardi Gras tonight. What would I wear?"

"Really? Well, I think everybody in Louisiana is. So. You have to have a costume. Is it like, masquerade? (Costume)"

Becka held up a white and gold 'prince' costume.

"How about this, and of course, a mask."

She held up a matching mask.

"Maybe?"

Rebecca shrugged her shoulders.

Looking at the costume, I nodded, though I would probobly feel foolish wearing it. I smiled breifly at Becka, and then brought the costume to the counter, which the lady rung up, flashing flirtatious smiles at me. I waited patiently, and the total came out $203.54. I paid her with a check. My phone buzzed. "Excuse me one moment." I pull out my phone. Be here at Nine

Becka

The brunette girl smiled and watched as he purchased it. Becka started to make her way out the door, but stopped.
She wanted to talk to Brian more. So, she waited at the door for him to finish the transaction.

The lady hands me the bag, and I jog to meet becka at the door. "Hey, can I have your phone number?" I ask, not wanting this to be the last time I would ever see her.

Rebecca nodded soundly and retrieved a pen from her purse, writing it down on the bottom of a napkin.

"Here you go. Call me."

Becka winked and walked out the door, shopping bags in hand. She went to her downtown, French-Quater apartment.
There, she would meet her BFF, Michelle, where they would spend countless hours doing hair and make-up for the ball.

Grinning, I take the napkin from her and start back to my apartment, where I promptly decided to catch up on some rest before the Ball tonight. Who knows, maybe I would even take a girl to bed with me afterwards.

Becka

After their hair and make-up was done, Becka and Michelle headed off to Michelle's family's plantation.

The scenery was beautiful, a real southern beauty. The two girls got dressed, and by the time they made it outside where
the ball would be held, all the entertainment and venue were there. Time for the party!

Taking one last look at myself, I patted down the gold prince costume and smiled, a bit embarrased. I then placed the mask on my face,the mask hiding my eyes. That was that, and I took a quick look at the clock. 6:45 I had to get going. I exit the apartment and get in my Chevy Avalanche, driving to Michelles place. When I got there, the lights were strung, and an aeir of magic hung about the place, making it look almost enchanted. I smiled, and parked, locking the truck behind me, then jogged up the front steps of the huge house.

Hearing the door shut, Michelle ran to greet the guest, and Becka made her way to the rentred beignet tent, sneaking one
in between her pink lips, and under her mask. She walked back onto the dance floor, watching as Michelle's father
and mother danced to the "Slow Cajun Waltz". Rebecca swayed back and forth with the music.

Michelle hurried up, eyes bright. I smiled. "Looks nice. Has it started yet?" I walk into the ball room, mask covering my face. Seeing a girl in a bright pink dress with a mask, I imedietly knew who it was. "Michelle, who is that?"

Michelle quickly answered his question.

"That's my freind, Becka. Go talk to her, she's single."

And gave him a slight push towards Rebecca.

Turning around, Becka saw Michelle and a guy in a gold and white prince costume.

Wait, that's familiar......


OMG! It's Brian!

I'm such a dweeb...

Rebecca smiled and waved nicely, then turned back and watched as the band played the slow music.
