I stopped outside the cave and watched the sleet turn to snow....I let my head hang low.....I stood there....I didn't want to leave her. I wanted to be with Lynx..... I wanted to watch our pups grow up. I wanted to be a father, and a grandfather. I wanted the life I never thought I'd have. I stood there.....wavering in my place.

I whirled around, seeing Dakota, standing there... My insincts kicked in, and I walked over to him, cautious but with slight worry about him. "Dakota..." I spoke softly, "You need to return to Lynx... You know she needs you and you love her... And she certainly loves you too... You two have a wonderful thing going on, don't let another wolf get in the middle of it." I said and gave him a warm smile.

I didn't even open my eyes. I stood hovering where I was and my ears laid against my head. I took a step forward, but then I stopped. I wanted Lynx, and I really did love her.....I teared up behind closed eyes and stumbled, even though I hadn't moved.

Lynx

I whined, rapping around my pups. "I guess your gonna have to stay with Aunt Mala and Uncle Jank." I said to them trying not to cry. "I love you alot, but mommy needs to get alittle break. Jag and the rest started crying and I shushed them. "I wont make you go today babies."

I whimpered softly as I saw a tear roll off his cheeck. "Please..." I said clearly but sincerely as I sidestepped and glanced at the cave. "Please... She.... She needs you.... Lynx needs you..." I said once more before sighing.

I turned away and growled at the bushes, knowing Pepsi was in there. I looked away, but before I did that, I gave her a 'How could you do this' look and walked off, the weather beads pelting my coat.

I walked to the door. "May! I need your help preparing the pups for moving the to Mala and Janks!" I yelled hopeing she could hear . "Please we need help!"

Pepsi felt a pain brust through her chest. I guess I'll just die alone. she thought to herself and padded away not caring if anyone saw her now... Never again will she see him.... because now, Lynx didn't trust her... and he lied to Pepsi...

I slowly walked back to the cave and sat next to the pups... "If you want to leave, you can..." I said. "But I'm staying here with the pups. I'd like it if you stayed with me.." I ignored her last comment. "And I'm happy here...." I added softly.

I shook my head. "Your happy because of the pups. Youd be happier is Pepsi was here instead of me.. I can make that happen." I said looking at him. "And I will just to make you happy." I began making my way out of the cave, to get Pepsi.

Pepsi could feel what he said... she felt in hurt inside.... how could he lie to her? He shouldv'e known she was gonna find out what he said sooner or later. Her stomach started hurting from love sick pain she groaned and moaned whined and whimpered. "How could you do this to me Dakota!" she roared. It went through the moutians and traveled through the air... suddenly, her struggling stopped and she lay there motionless.

"FINE!" I growled, letting go of her. "I just won't love either of you." I ran up the mountainside, looking down upon the sharp jagged rocks that lay below. Hesitating a moment, I jumped.

I ran to the mountain side and found Dakota jumping off the side of the mountain. I knew what I had to do. Before he could hit the ground, I ran infront of where he was about to land, and broke his fall, a slight whimper escaping from my lips.

Surprised, I jumped off of May as fast as lightning. I whimpered and looked at her. "What was that for?!" I asked, sort of angry... "Why did you do that?" I looked her over. I examined her wounds and grabbed some healing herbs and mashed them together, putting them on the flesh wounds. Then I turned and gave her some herbs mixed with nectar. "Eat this. It'll help repair in the internal damage..."

I gave a slight growl in his direction. "You can't be so selfish!!! Lynx can't help herself if she gets upset!! She still needs you!!! And do you know how hurt both Pepsi and Lynx are going to be if you die?!!" I said loudly with a bark, my ears against my skull as my tail twitched angerily.
