Black Mamba~
I stand in the shadows of the trees waiting for my prey to let its guard down, above me on one of the branches was my companion Daemon. My coat, blacker than the night surrounding me, hide me from the deer's sight. I lung toward the large buck as soon as it puts its head down to graze and it turns and runs for its life. I sprint after my prey, my long powerful legs propelling me forward. I chase the agile deer down into a small valley with Daemon flying directly above me, my purple streaked mane and tail flying out behind me. The deer jumps into a wide river and struggles to swim to the other side before I get there. It finally climbs out of the river and starts running again just as I catch up and leap over the river effortlessly, landing right behind the deer. I give a short burst of speed so I am right beside the buck then ram my shoulder into it, causing it to stumble and fall. I am on it in an instant, my teeth latching onto its throat and my sharp hooves slicing it open. I drop the deer when I am sure it is dead and rear up, screaming at the top of my lungs and striking the air with my powerful hooves as a warning for other predators to stay away. I land and snort loudly then lower my head, using my two large canines that I was born with to rip at the deer's flesh, Daemon already peaking at it beside me. The valley was soon filled with the chilling sound of teeth crushing bones.

Black Mamba~
I raise my head from the half eaten carcass and calmly look around, blood dripping from my dark ebony muzzle. I turn away from the diseased dear and walk over to the river that I had jumped over to catch my dinner then bend down and drink my fill. I stand back up and watch Daemon drink his fill and look at the surrounding land, wondering where to go now. I snort and shake my head when I feel moisture land on my muzzle then look up at the sky and see it was beginning to rain. I growl low in my throat and look around for shelter then see a cave further up the valley and start walking toward it, allowing Daemon to hitch a ride on my withers. I go from a walk to a gallop as it begins to rain harder. I stop when I reach the base of the valley and snort looking around then, realizing that there is no easier way up, I lunge forward up mountain at a gallop. I easily jump over and dodge sharp rocks and poisonous snakes that block my path, my pitch black ears lost in an wild array of purple streaked mane. I slow down when I reach the cave and immediately walk in, shaking the access water off my coat as soon as I no longer feel water pounding down on my body. Daemon cawed angrily when I shook and jumped off me, since he was to wet to fly, and walked far enough away so that I couldn't splash him again then shook off.

Black Mamba~
I watch the water fall from the sky, patiently waiting for the raining to cease. Daemon was currently sleeping on my back with his small, black head rested under his wing. I snort and pull my ears back after a few hours and turn away from the darkened sky, retreating to the back of the cave. I lay down against the back wall and curl my charcoal head around me. I slowly open my eyes to be welcomed by pitch blackness and complete silence. I blink a few times and lie there for a few minutes as I allow my violet eyes to become accustomed to the darkness. I then stand up and calmly make my way to the entrance of the cave. I look up as I emerge from the cave to see a cloudless night sky and a full moon. I suddenly give a loud yawn, revealing two rows of razor sharped teeth that looked more like they belonged in the mouth a wolf rather then a horse. I glance over at a near by tree and see Daemon resting on one of the higher limbs. I look out across the dangerous land and sigh, wondering where the others of my kind were. I look over the cliff then carefully begin to climb down mountain and into the valley.
