1st Pregnacy,

My name is Black Mist, I am never scared of anything. Except this.

The pain in my stomach had doubled and this was my first pregnancy so I didn't know what to do. I called out for another mare hoping she wold comfort me, the noise that eventually came out was weak and so quiet, it would be a miracle if anyone heard my cries for help.

I started pacing, not knowing if I should lay down or stand up. Another Pain even worse than the others. The contractions getting closer together.

The contractions grew closer together and stronger until eventually I had to lay down, I knew it was close and I was now even more scared. I had fought of everything, I had been scared of nothing.

What am i going to do?

The next contraction hurt like mad, I let out a scream.

I tossed my long black mane and looked around. I was a loner, you could say. Kicked out from my old herd. Why? I don't know. Sure I was young, but I was a mare, and I was really good with helping births. My mother taught me, for the future. You'd think my father would keep me, right? I was a mare, for gosh sakes. I didn't know how to live on my own! Not without my mother. I lowered my head, remembering her. It made me sad. My head shot up as I heard something. Or was I just paranoid. I stopped and waited. The next thing I knew there was a scream. My ears flicked foward as I strained to catch another noise. I had no idea where it came from, so I just ran.
After a few strides I could see the sun starting to leak through the trees. I gave a small smile and then frowned, remembering the terrible scream. I flew into the clearing, my head swinging around wildly. It didn't take long to find the big black horse in pain. I flared my nostrils. It was a mare. Slowly, I made my way closer. I could tell she was trying to give birth, and I didn't want to spook her.

I heard a twig crack and lifted my head to see another mare.

"Don't worry you won't scare me, can you help me though i have no idea what to do."

Another contraction. I gritted my teeth, and tried to stand.

She stood there next to me and i felt calmer knowing there was another female around, this was really starting to hurt so i layed on my side and waited wondering what to do next.

My partner was a lovely strong Horse but he was caught by the humans and he told me to run i had made a promise that no one and nothing would scare me after that day. but i still longed for him to return, my sweet stallion.

I gave a soft smile and moved over to her side. I rested on the ground beside her. "Okay. Breath." I nodded and mimicked a deep sigh. "When it hurts, I need you to push." My eyes darted around for a moment and I frowned. "Lemme guess? The father was a forcer?"

"Ok, and the father was a forcer, he took advantage of me because my partner had been caught by humans" I say feeling the pain once again. As she had told me I pushed when it hurt

I gave a soft sigh. "I've never mated before. But I've seen it, and don't worry." I paused with a smile, "I've helped with plenty of births." I nodded and cooed softly to help her relax. "Good job." I said as she gave another push.

"Thank you for coming to help...... I never did catch your name." Another contraction so i pushed again, how long would this go on for.

I smiled softly. "Oh right." I stayed silent for awhile, watching and then answered, "My name is Dew."

"Thanks for coming Dew, how come a young one like you is out here especially since you a mare and hehe you seem to be great at births...." I pushed again as I looked and I saw a pair of legs emerging.

"I don't know what to call the foal, and seems as you helped me I'd love for you to name it."

I gave a soft smile. "No stallion has been lucky enough to snatch me away, I suppose." I giggled softly and smiled warmly. I was taken by suprise. "Oh, I couldn't name your foal! It's yours, afterall."

As I felt another contraction I pushed and the foal slid out, " Is it over, Is the foal ok." I asked panicked.
