The Mischief Is Dead Once More.
The mischief is dead.
I so thought this as I stared up at the dark building, ignoring the guards and my captors. Not a breeze stirred through the blackened valley, not an animal breathed. All of Life seemed to be holding its breath, giving way to the darkness before them.
I was alone.
I wanted so hard to cry, though knew it would merely be a sign of weakness. Would I ever make it out of there? Or would Death find me the way it had all others before who had passed?
The young woman sat straight up in bed, breathing heavily. The blankets were not yet drawn back, the flickering light of the lantern not yet hushed.
Raising a shaky hand to her damp forehead, she looked about at her familiar surroundings. Everything seemed so... Empty, lately. Not even the free feeling of galloping on her bare stallion's back could stir the stone of her heart anymore. It was just dead inside. Before, before she had been free to run and laugh and tease. She had, after all, been the heart of all mischief. Now it was all gone, and the once well kept gardens and plains of her home were long since growing gray, overridden with weeds.
Standing up in the pale moonlight filtering in through her open window, she shivered as she pulled open her drawers. Tugging on what seemed like frozen clothes, she tugged a hat on to cover her cat ears. Why did she have to be so different? Especially now? Hiding a scowl from Solembum, she headed outside of her house, the werecat following her silently, appearing Human because of the night. Werecats were the opposite of Werewolves, Human at night and wild cat during the day. Solembum was her only friend left, him and her animals. The slim, lithe boy caught up to her quickly, shaggy dark hair hanging low over his forehead, clothes too big yet seeming to suit him perfectly.
The pair walked quietly, glancing up occasionally at the moon that hung steadily lower and lower in the sky. Finally, it disappeared and on the horizon above the mountains, the sun began its long descent. Their breath showing in misty puffs, Solembum's body seemed to be shrinking. Almost simultaneously, he was a cat, with a long flicking tail and tufted ears, yet he looked like no ordinary house cat. He yawned, showing long, slender fangs that were curved and sharp, he padded after the girl. Life seemed to be awakening around them, yet they seemed not to notice, and continued their walk. Solembum merely danced around through the leaves, searching for something, anything. The girl was lost in her thoughts about her dreams and memories. So lost in fact, that when it came time for them to stop, she did not even notice until Solembum yawned again, letting out a long, loud yowl. She paused, looking surprised, then sighed and walked back to him. Her body felt stiff and rigid as she folded in on herself, sinking to the ground and sitting cross legged in the damp grass, running her fingers through its long blades. Solembum sighed, hoping, wishing, for anyone to come and pull his friend out of her trance, which he knew would someday be the end of her.
Soon.

Re: The Mischief Is Dead Once More.
sinful obsession sat quietly beneath an oak tree, eyeing the strange girl and her cat. her blue eyes gleamed a vibrant blue in the early morning sunlight. darkend uprising layed across a barely sturdy branch high above sinz head as he carved his name into the tree carelessly but still keeping a very watchful eyes on his love. sinz let out a llong sigh, not knowing why she was here. she needed to talk to someone besides drake for a while. its not that she didnt love him. infact it was more than that, it was a longing, like the ocean needs the moon. he was the only one that truly understood her, others just saw her as a stuck-up vampire princess. or to humans a strange girl that seemed to have some sort of obessesion with the moon. now angry at the thuoght she shoved her crown, witch was beautifuly carves with a sapphire cresent mooon surionded by waves, into her bag. gracefuly she stood up, dutsted off her skirt and walked out from the shade of the massive tree. thuogh she did not speak but instead wiated to be seen first. drake jumped from the tree branch and landed on the grass withuot a sound but made no effort to fallow sinz.

Re: The Mischief Is Dead Once More.
Solembum raised his dark head, watching the girl curiously as he stood up. He yowled loudly once more, and Guinevere looked up, startled. Watching the girl, her slanted cat eyes shifted colors. First icy, exotic blue, then rich hazel, bright green, adn finally settling into a liquid silver, flecked with gold and exotic blues.
"Hello," she said, standing up in one motion, though it wasn't as smooth as it used to be. She was lost inside of herself lately, and Solembum was the only one she would actually talk to anymore. Her voice sounded smooth, like water gliding over smooth rocks on a cool, brisk Autumn day, or the wind whispering gently through the treetops. Solembum laid down, his long tail flicking in the cool morning air, watching his breath rise in misty tendrils, clawing fingers that pulled their way up into the skies.

drake watched the girl with caution as she stood. his face showed no emotion as she spoke, but remaned as still as that of a stone figure. but sinz smiled small, her long silvery-blonde hair draped over her shuolder. her blue goddess given tatoos of thorny roses seemed to reteat from the light of the sun. leaving her ivory skin blank and unscathed. "hello" she said in an elegant saprano vioce that seemed to ring like church bells on a sunday moring."i am.." she hesitated to say her true name "sinz." she deicide that it was best to leave her nyx given name out of the picture for now

Re: The Mischief Is Dead Once More.
Guinevere watched her quietly, listening to her voice. Her gaze held no emotion as she opened her mouth, but no words came out.
"Guinevere." The word, her name, seemed to come from nowhere as she hid her gaze, stuffing her bare hands, or paws, rather, into her pockets. Why had she forgot too bring her gloves? Was it because she went through around five every week because of her sharp claws, or was she really losing herself that much? Solembum flicked his tail lazily, listening to them both, ignoring the boy in the tree. For now, anyway. Would this girl be the one to bring Guinevere back?

Re: The Mischief Is Dead Once More.
sinz felt so dumb for alomst foregetting her own bouyfriend " sorry, and this is drake. its nice to meet you guinevere" she said going with the same stradegy as last time. " what are you doing out here by yourself?" she asked with a smile trying to encourage the girl to talk. her blue eyes swept over the meadow looking for signs of a threat, but none were fuond. darkend uprising silently walked to sinz side and placed his hamd delacatly on her shuolder. his tatoos were a dark blue, almost black. they depicted sparrows flying from his wrist up his muscular arms, fleeting from who knows what. they too evaded the light of the sun and left his pale skin bare. but still he did not speak. but watched the every movement of the strange girl

Re: The Mischief Is Dead Once More.
Guinevere tensed, the first sign of any kind of soul living in her since she had noticed the two.
"I live near here," she said, instantly wary of the two. She had never met anyone like herself, or like them, for that matter, and did not like the way the boy was staring at her. Matching his gaze with a cold stare of her own, she looked back at Sinz.
"Nice to meet you as well," she said, just now realizing the girl had spoken more than once. *Drake...* she thought, rolling the name around in her mind as she looked down at Solembum as he stood up and did a black cat stretch like those in pictures on Hallows Eve.

sinz fallowed guinevere's gaze to drake. "he's only being protective.." she siad apologeticly. " im sorry its just.. its my only duty to protect sinz and withuot her i could not live.." drake said in an emotionless dark voice, looking away from guinevere and her cat. his stance was tight and on moving. while sinz stood loosely and daintily nexrt to him. drake was a mountian of a man for only bieng 19 and compared to him.. sinz looked.. well little and fragile. sinz happily slid off her leather jacket and let it fall to the gruond next to her feet. " so what are you doing?" she asked guinevere trying to break the earie silence.

Re: The Mischief Is Dead Once More.
Guinevere bit the inside of her lower lip, looking from one to the other as she listened to them speak. After a moment she turned and walked a few steps away, sliding into the slightly damp grass while she twisted around to look back at them.
"I hate being in small places," she said quietly, a slight tremor running through the length of her body. Solembum stood where he was, watching them. Stepping towards them, his tail flicking elegantly, he walked through the grass, the water from it not bothering him in the slightest bit.
"It's not so much of a fear as a loathing," Guinevere said quietly, something clicking inside of her. Only it was the wrong thing if they wanted to bring her back out.

"i know what you mean... i feel the same way about the sun and the god who rules it... apollo." she said as she looked towars the sky " i met him once.. he stuck up and creul to my kind" she said with a ounce of anger and hatred in her chiming voice. " apollo in no longer welcome in dythiria" drake siad in a hard voice as he looked at the shadow his body formed on the gruond. " but we shall speak of that no more.." sinz said in a little bit hapier voice trying to lighten the caonversation agian " have you met any of the gods?" she asked guinevere

Re: The Mischief Is Dead Once More.
Guinevere watched them, listening to them as they spoke.
"A couple," she said, running one paw through the grass, forgetting for a few brief moments that she had paws instead of hands.
"Artemis and Hestia," she said, trying to remember about them. But most of it was just a foggy haze from the amnesia that she had acquired (sp?) lately.
"All I remember was Artemis offering me... Something..." she said, trying to remember. Solumbum yawned, trotting over to her, his tail waving through the air ever so gracefully.

Re: The Mischief Is Dead Once More.
" i have met artemis but never hestia... nyx often visits my home thuogh" she said happily with a beautiful smile as she sat on the gorun and watcched the clouds pass slowly by in the insescent blue sky. drake was overcome with memories for the moment. remebering with many night he had spent trianing side by side with erebus. the way their skin gleamed in the silver moonlight as he showed drake the ways of the warriors. it was then that he vowed his life to sinz for eternity. he took his plave on the lush grass next to sinz and watched as she jouyfuly looked towards the sky. he let a smile slip his lips for the first time in the past couple of weeks
.[i think there is a horse named hestia and i think only there is only a user named artemis (thats my twin) other than that i have no clue lol]

Re: The Mischief Is Dead Once More.
[alright... and if you didn't know, Hestia is the Goddess of the Hearth most people only take notice to the main ones, the Olympians I believe...]
[I just realized, we're using the smae color XD ]
Guinevere let out a small smile.
"Who else have you met? What are they like?" she asked, suddenly curious. She couldn't even remember what Hestia and Artemis was like, but she wanted to know. And she wanted to remember everything, even if her past was going to be touchy. Rolling her shoulder blades, she ran her hands down Solembum's back absently.

" and we have had dinners with artemis and nyx. they are really social and visit verry often" sinz added hoping they weren't sounding boastful or erogant in any way. " and evry so often ares drops in to speak with my dad and talk of his studies and war" she siad looking down from the sky

Guinevere watched them, eyes holding a light fascination and respect for the Gods and Goddesses.
"What's Ares like? I heard from someone that he could be cruel," she said quietly, cocking her head to the side. Solembum started purring loudly, watching the Sinz and Drake silently.

[haha thanks ]
" hes actually really smart. wise and yes you could say he has a temper. he has alot to say about the world. but he is a verry smart planer and has wonderful war tactics." she had over herd many fo the conversations of war and the world between her father and ares. drake had been part of one of these talks but when he had a different view from ares things got a little out of hand. so now drake no longer gets along with him, and tends to avoid him when he visits dythiria

[lol, I just realized the title of the topic was "The Mischief Is Dead Once More" when I meant Forever lol XD]
Guinevere smiled shyly, chuckling softly.
"I guess they forgot the wise and smart part out of their stories," she said. She shifted uneasily, a question biting at her tongue, yet she seemed too shy, too timid to say it, afraid of what the answer would be.

drake was good at reading faces, and new she had something on her mind. " tell me what you are thinking?" he asked her in his naturly low tone. it was strange how he always knew exactly what to say and the perfect tone to say it in. he had avioded many arguments with this talent and it always left sinful obessesion befuttled

She lifted her head to look at him, surprised for a moment. She shook her elegant head once, closing her eyes for a brief moment.
"I was just wondering... What are you?" she asked, cocking her head as she looked up at them both. Just the aura they seemed to give off was different than Humans', and they obviously were not like her, though she had never expected to find one like herself. Guinevere smiled slightly.
"I'm sorry, that came out wrong," she said, starting to appologize.

sinful obsession gave a vibrant smile and stepped into drake's shadow. just like they had retreated, the roses that spirled her arms and nexk reapeared along with the cresant moon in the center of her forehead " we are vampires of the moon" she said in the same church bell tone " are skin 'sparkles' in the light of the moon. opposite of the sun vampires, the ones blessed by apollo" her lips curled wretchedly over his name. as she spoke the sun was momentarily blockeed by a white puffy cloud. just as sinz had done darkend uprisings unique sparrows returned to him once agian fleeing from the things that are only known to nyx herself. but he took pride in them knowing no other of their kind had tattoos of birds. most were just elabrite paterns

Guinevere arched her eyebrows. She had thought of Vampires as myths, but apparently with misfits like herself, anything was possible.
"That's where all the Twilight, stuff, came from?" she asked, almost saying it was all crap, but deciding better. Solumbum raised his head and yowled loudly, giving her an irritated look. Yeah, him too, since apparently Werecats were all only parts of myths and legends, too.

sinful gave a small smile " no, afraid not. no one knows of our civilization. our kind has lived in this world for centuries, blended in with the mortals for generations. our verry existance has remined a myth, a legend, a fairytale. only on one would have thuoght we would be this elabrite..." she said with a slightly earie tone her blue eyes looked up to the now sunless sky. darkend uprising gave a deep throated luagh " humans see vampires as ruthless, bloodthirsty animals. but for hundreds of years we have lived in a more civilized fashion than they. we have kingdoms but remain without war, we have countless piantings on thier muesems, information on parts of the world they could never reach in thier books. and we're the animals?"
