I step closer to her and embrace her in a tight sad hug. I let tears run down my cheek silently and try not to let her see. I love her so much and my daughter as well. I would do anything for them.

I glance away from her sad smile as i begin to walk off. I stop when i am hovering over godiva. I reach my long neck down to muzzle her flank for a moment, thinking about how wonderful her voice will sound when we exchange it. I elevate my head again and close my eyes to try and remember what it felt like to blind.
