Through The Gates of Hell to The Gates of Heaven, I Sin. (Mature, OPEN)
Dance little one, dont be shy..
The sky is your dance floor, way up high
Do a little spin and a sharp little twirl..
Show off little one, show the world
Mommy isnt here and daddy is far..
Come on little one, be a star
You are never alone, have no fear..
The clouds are your home, you belong here..
The poem taunted Kar for years. The sweet melody with its perfect rhymes and mocking words often rendered the young mare helpless for days on end until it would suddenly vanish from her mind. It was like a tease meant to kill her.
As a child, the mare did as the poem instructed. She danced across the clouds effortlessly, putting on a show for all to see. Kar was a crowd pleaser and could make the most grumpiest creature happy. She was a beauty, a ball of glorious color and delicate patterns. She was thought to have been crafted by angels. She was an orphan, but was adopted by a pair of lonely unicorns who could not reproduce. They taught her to dance and the ways of life up in clouds. She knew the do's and don't of her home and abided by the rules well. Up until temptation got the best of her.
Kar had grown to the age where she was free to mate with whomever she pleased and was also granted access to the world below the clouds. The mare often took spontaneous trips below, ignoring her foster parents warnings of the dangers that lurked there. During one of her trips, she had done something unthinkable and unholy. The foolish mare had lain with a demon, a spawn of the devil and a creature loathed by the world above. Upon her return, the lords had discovered her sin and banned her from the cloud kingdom, forever wiping her of her beauty and graceful dancing.
With tears streaming down her face, Kar struggled to get up from the ground and ignore the poem that was ringing in her head. Once on her cloven hooves, she shook her head profusely until she swore she could hear her brain rattle. "Please.." she begged aloud, stamping her hoof and closing her white eyes. For a moment, the words ceased and she was left standing in silence, the dark world of the place she now called home lingering around her eerily. Kar had long grown accustom to the treacherous land and gruesome creatures that dwelled there. Since she was now ugly and one of them, this place felt like none other than home. But the spirit of the cloud kingdom still lived within her. Far back in her mind, Kar kept three images stashed away for safe keeping. One of the cloud kingdom, one of her former self, and the day she danced for her kings. Forever she would cling to those memories until someone came and rescued her from hell and restored her to her natural beauty.
