"Yes, a matter of fact I do. Lady Carez is throwing a party to celebrate her engagement to Lord Carndale. As much as I loathe the woman it is expected we attend, seeing as how high in the ranks of vampire society the two of them are. If we did not show our faces at the party people would talk." I replied, waving my spoon around as I talked, a frustrated look coming over my face. I honestly LOATHED Lady Carez but I could see no way out of attending the party.

Therien couldn't help but groan over a mouthful of cereal. "Can't we just say we're 'sick'?" His fingers acted as quotation marks around the word sick before he dug his spoon back into his bowl only to scoop at air, causing his expression to contort with momentary confusion as he huffed out a breath, getting from his seat to place his bowl in the sink and plopping back down. His greenish-yellow eyes stilled on Roseclear as he crossed his arms, brows faintly pinched in frustration. "Ah, we better go," he said with reluctance, "Get it over with. What time?"

I laughed slightly at his comment and got up to also put my empty bowl in the sink. "Well, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who isn't fond of her. And anyways, that wouldn't work. Vampires don't get sick." I replied. I sat back down in my chair, more elegantly than he had. "It is tonight at 7 o'clock. We should probably arrive a little early though, maybe around 6:55." I commented, twirling a piece of my hair around my finger as I thought about what I would wear to the party.

Therien gave a subtle nod before throwing a glance at the clock. 3:43. Running a hand through his knotted hair, he heaved a silent sigh and rose to his feet, his eyelids curling tightly over his eyes. Opening them, he looked at Roseclear. "Guess we should start getting ready, then." Roseclear had been infamous for taking an excessive amount of time when it came to getting ready, so it seemed now would be an essential time to begin.

"Yes. Perhaps we should." I replied, standing up. I walked over to him and smiled slightly before I turned and went upstairs to my room. I rifled through my closet, trying to find the perfect outfit for tonight.

After a moment of hesitation, Therien gathered the will to head back up to his room with dragging feet, setting aside a formal outfit with slight distaste before he hopped into the shower. It was another half hour or so before he stepped out, soon getting suited in a black tux & slacks, a red tie being his outfit's only splash of color amidst its dark counterparts. He worked a comb through his hair and styled it within 10 minutes or so, afterwards checking the clock. 4:31. Making his way downstairs, he figured he'd occupy the remaining time watching TV, feet propped up on the coffee table as he slouched into the couch, flipping through channels.

I finally laid out a dress, a blood red dress with a deep neckline and ruffles along the hem. It was one of the more formal dresses I had and I fairly enjpyed the style and feel of it. It was skin tight and fit my curves perfectly. I placed it on my bed and grabbed some blood red high heels to match the dress and set them on the bed next to the dress. Then I stripped and climbed into the shower. By the time I got out it was already 5 o'clock. I quickly slipped on the blood red bra and panties that I grabbed out of my closet then slipped the dress over my head and slipped on my high heels. Then I sat down at my desk with a mirror to brush out my hair and apply my make up and jewelry.

Therien, seeing it was nearly 6:30, rose to his feet and strode to Roseclear's room, knuckles rasping lightly at her door before he peered inside, brows raising at the sight of her dress, then, realizing he might as well be drooling, he cleared his throat and forced his brows back down into a neutral position. "Ready to go?"

I had just finished applying the last of my make up when I heard a knock on my door then heard it open. I stood up and turned around to face Therien, smiling when I caught sight of his rasied eyebrows before he lowered them. "Yes. I'm ready, I'm assuming you are?" I replied, retreving my blood red clutch purse from where I had laid it on my bed. My hair was pulled up into an elegant crown, some of the strands cascading down my neck to look like a waterfall.

"Of course," he answered, straightening his tie and giving a grin before offering his arm to hook hers with.

I smiled and linked my arm with his and waited for him to lead me downstairs.

Therien escorted Roseclear from the house and out to the limo, chauffeur awaiting their arrival with his hands linked in front of him. At their approach, he bowed lightly and opened the door for them to enter, Therien unhooked his arm from hers and motioned for her to enter.

I climbed into the limo and waited for Therien to climb in after me.

Therien slid in after Roseclear, the door immediately closing behind him. He informed the chauffeur of where they were to head as soon as he got in, of which he replied to with a "Yes, sir" before driving. Turning to Roseclear, Therien asked, "How long do we have to stay?"

"Probably until the party's over, even though I don't want to. I would normally suggest we snuck out after about two hours but with Lady Carez hosting it there will be no chance of that. You know she's going to try to set me up with one, or several, of her "sophisticated" male vampire friends. That's what I'm dreading most." I replied, raising my hands to do air quotes when I said the word 'sophisticated'. No matter how many times I told the lady to stop trying to set me up with vampires she just wouldn't quit.

Therien smiled softly at her words, his gaze straying from Roseclear as he adjusted his tie once more. "She does like to play matchmaker, doesn't she?" he said and chuckled lightly. His expression turned hard as his eyes met with hers. "You know, if you ever need someone taken care of, don't hesitate on asking me."

I chuckled softly and replied, "Yes. She does. Now lets hope she doesn't try to set me up with someone I know." I looked out the window, letting my thoughts wander off. At his second comment I turned my head and looked at him in slight surprise. "Therien... Yes, I know that. I just hate having other people clean up my messes. You understand don't you?" I replied, my expression serious but gentle.

Therien's gaze remained steady on Roseclear for a moment as he mulled over her words. Releasing a silent breath, he forced his eyes away from hers and clasped his hands together on his lap. "Of course I do." The words fell from his lips quiet & soft, shifting himself to look absently out the window.

I watched him for a few moments longer then I looked back out the window again. I just wanted to get this party over and done with so I could go back home and get some rest.

Therien leaned his head back and closed his eyes, letting himself drown in his thoughts. You're an idiot, Therien.

Half an hour later... or something...

The sound of the car door opening tore him from his semi-devoid state, his eyes springing open to land on the chauffeur before he exited, halting to wait for Roseclear.

I climbed out of the limo after Therien. I walked over to him and tucked my arm in his. "Shall we go in?" I asked with a cheerful, pleasant smile.

Managing the best smile he could, Therien led Roseclear to the mansion's entrance, raising a fist to knock on its door but pausing mid-motion as it swung open to reveal Lady Carez, her expression beaming with energized joy.

I waited patiently by Therien's side as he lifted his hand to knock on the door. Before he could knock the door opened to reveal a beaming Lady Carez. I urged my smile to stay on my face as I curtsied to her and said, "Hello, Lady Carez. We are here for the party. Thank you for the invitation and congratulations on your engagement." I hoped that if I got her focused on her engagement she wouldn't think about trying to set me up with some of her male vampire friends. I knew it was a feeble attempt but it was worth a try.
