Crash [R] [Tayssi]
"Nivan, what the hell are you doing?" The girl had been standing in the entrance to their living room for the last ten minutes, and her older brother hadn't seemed to have noticed her. It was 3 A.M. and he was watching some a rerun of Doctor Who. Nivan slowly turned his head to look at Nori, her hair mussed and her blue eyes sleepy. "Watching T.V?" He answered, his tone innocent as he tried not to grin. "At 3 in the morning? Really?" She was grinding her teeth together in irritation. "Couldn't sleep, sorry Nori. Mom won't be home for about.." He checked the digital clock on the wall, and continued, "Two hours? Why don't you join me till then?" Nivan asked, offering her a sincere smile. Huffing softly to herself, Nori moved forward, out of the darkness and plopped down next to him. He glanced at her shirt, and cocked one of his brows. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer, really, Nori?" She looked down at it herself, and shrugged. "Let's not forget your little collection." Damn it. He hated it when she did that. Nivan pitied anyone who got into an argument with his sister. It was a rare occasion when they won.
The minutes ticked by slowly as the two stared at the screen, occasionally switching channels or moving off to the kitchen to grab something to snack on. Their mother had returned from another one of her business trips, that never seemed to let her see her only children. She didn't make any extra effort to get to them, anyway, since she no longer had to worry about a babysitter trashing the house while she was gone. Nivan was trusted to watch his sister, though she didn't really need it, and take care of Speedbump. The adorable pest was currently upstairs, probably getting hair all over Nivan's bed. Smiling at the thought, he looked over at Nori, who had nodded off, and was leaning against one of the numerous pillows that crowded their two couches. About twenty minutes later, he joined her.
"Eleanor! Nivan! What in the world are you doing!?" The nagging voice abruptly woke the siblings, and the two spun around on the couch to face her. Dressed in a business suit, and with her dark hair pulled back into a bun. One hand held a brief case and the other was on her hip. "You have beds for a reason!" She snatched the remote from the arm of the couch, and clicked the T.V. off. Nivan glanced at the clock. 6:18 A.M. "I love you too, mom." Nori growled, put into a mood by the use of her real name. She hated that name with a passion, for whatever reason. Glaring at her daughter, she moved off, somewhere into the kitchen. An ear splitting shriek followed several seconds later. "Your dog peed in the kitchen! Nivan, clean it up, NOW!"
Nivan and Nori escaped from their barn owl of a mother two hours later, and had taken Speedbump with them. The dog was happily sniffing the grass, trotting around the bench the siblings were sitting on. The dog park was strangely empty, save for the few elderly couples who walked their dogs this early in the morning. So that meant Speedbump could be off leash, and mingled with the various Chihuahuas and other apartment dogs. Nivan and Nori just watched him, finding no interest in conversation.

“Reef, you alright in there?” a voice asked from the other side of his bedroom door. His bright golden eyes glanced over in the direction of the door before he pulled a shirt over his head, walking over. His fingers gripped the handle momentarily, taking a breath before opening it. A tall man with dark blonde hair and light grey eyes with a 5’o’clock shadow on his chin stood before him. “Fine, Dad” he said, avoiding looking at him for too long and squeezing past him, shutting the door behind him. “Breakfast is downstairs,” he said and the golden eyed boy just nodded and vanished down the stairs as he heard the man give a heavy sigh. Glancing back up, he watched as he slowly followed him down the stairs. It was like this every morning. Reef wasn’t so much as shy around his family, but just wasn’t overly talkative. Atleast not to his parents. Stepping into the kitchen, he looked at the 3 other people sitting at the table. His mother, a blonde haired, amber eyed woman, his step father, a deep brunette with blue eyes. And then there was his brother, Agnes. He was blonde haired and golden eyed just like Reef and he was the one person he would ever really talk to.
Sitting beside him, Reef watched as his father sat down between his mother and step father. It was a weird story about how and why they all lived together under one roof. Many would think Reef’s step father was married to his mother, but that definitely wasn’t true. It was actually his father who was together with him. Reef had no problem with that, in fact, he was totally for it, there was nothing wrong with being gay. Shaking his thoughts from his mind, he reached over and grabbed some bacon, some scrambled egg and toast. The usual breakfast here when his mother was here in the morning and cooked. Digging into his breakfast, Reef finished quickly, before he went into the bathroom and cleaned his teeth. Walking over to a large tank filled with leaves, branches and vines as well as a shelf type ledge. Looking in, Reef smiled when he was his Iguana, Bikky sitting beneath the UVB lights to warm up. Chuckling, the young man turned and went to the door, opening it. “Wait, Reef,” a voice said. Turning, he watched as Agnes came towards him, handing him a small exercise towel, “you almost forgot it,” he said as he reached over and placed it in his hands. Smiling, he stepped outside, shutting the door as he said, “thanks, Agnes.”
Walking down the street, he looked at his watch to see it was 7:27. Nodding slightly, Reef got to the end of the street, towel now draped over his shoulders as he sprang into a paced jog. Every morning and afternoon, he would go jogging. He didn’t have a route or a destination – just to jog. He couldn’t be bothered planning. That just wasn’t him.
He slowed to a stop, leaning down to rest his palms on his knees. He quickly checked his watched, seeing it was 8:31. He had jogged for basically an hour. Closing his eyes, Reef took a deep breath and used the towel to wipe the sweat from his face and the back of his neck. However, his eyes snapped open when he felt a tongue starting to lick him. He was caught off guard and he stumbled back before he fell back. He blinked a few times and watched as the three legged dog shuffled closer to lick his face again. Reef chuckled and ruffled the dog’s fur between his ears. “You surprised me, boy,” he said gently with a light smile. Okay, so he definitely hadn’t expected to be lick attacked by a dog. He hadn’t even noticed he had stopped in the dog park. Proving how much attention he had been paying to where he had been going. Standing up, Reef brushed the dirt off of him before he crouched down, smiling at the three legged canine and running a hand through his fur, glancing around the park momentarily before focusing on the dog again.

Re: Crash [R] [Tayssi]
Nivan watched Speedbump carefully, making sure he didn't wander too far. The last time that happened, the dog had earned his namesake. Nivan had been 15, and Nori 11, on their first time out with the dog who had been dubbed 'Firel'. Neither of the siblings liked it, since their mother had chosen it. They were distracted, and Speedbump wandered back to the highway, and was hit by a motorcycle. It should have killed him. It nearly did. The bike had been trying to swerve and avoid him, and the loss of control caused him to hit a tree shortly after running the dog over. By then, Nivan and Nori were there, and she rushed out into traffic, nearly getting hit a couple times herself. Long story short, the vet was able to save him, with the loss of his leg, but somedays, it didn't even seem like the dog noticed it was missing. Smiling softly to himself, Nivan checked his phone, noting the time before glancing around for the dog again. Fuck.
Nori noticed it too, and not wanting to replay previous events, she bolted, heading towards the place they saw him last. Nivan shoved his phone into his pocket, taking off after her. With his tennis shoes slapping the pavement, he rounded the corner, and increased his pace. Worry coursed through him, scenes of what could happen racing through his head. Until he heard the familiar scolding of his little sister.
"Speedbump! You know you are not supposed to harass people!" Nivan came up behind, breathing hard. But he couldn't help but smile at the scene. Nori started to move forward to corral the dog, and Nivan took her arm into his hand and pulled her back. She glared at him, bright blue eyes inquiring. "Come on now, Speedbump. He's got a towel, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't need your assistance." The dog returned to Nivan's side, looking up at him with a doggy grin. "Sorry 'bout that." Nivan offered the stranger a smile, hoping he wasn't one of the assholes who threatened to sue because he got a bit of affection from a dog. He didn't look like one, anyway. Nori had knelt besides the dog, and had a firm grip on his collar. Her bangs were a bit disheveled from her run, but that was currently her last concern as she quietly spoke to the dog. Sometimes Nivan wondered about her. "Well, you've met Speedbump. I'm Nivan, and that's No-," She shot a glare up at Nivan as he started to introduce her, and raised her brows. "I'm Nori, and I know how to introduce myself." The girl shook her head, sighing softly. "A concept he hasn't been able to grasp yet." She muttered under her breath, and stood. "Last time I checked, sis, you were too shy." Resisting the juvenile urge to stick her tongue out, Nori rolled her eyes. "Last time I checked, I was 12 when that happened." Nivan looked back to the stranger, and sent him an apologetic glance. "Sorry, again."

Re: Crash [R] [Tayssi]
Reef couldn’t help but smile when the dog licked his temple, slobber trailing down his cheek. Wiping it off with his towel, he glanced up to see if he could see the canine’s owner. Though this was an off lead dog park, most people stayed close. However, he couldn’t see anyone, at least not at the moment, maybe they hadn’t noticed he’d wandered off. So, Reef stayed where he was with the dog, not wanting him to get hurt by running on the road only a few metres away from where they were. He was a gorgeous dog, possibly a Border collie or border collie x cattle dog, and even with his loss of a leg, he was a very cute dog. Looking at him, made Reef yearn to have his own dog. Maybe he should adopt one? But he’d have to talk to his parents about that. Sighing, Reef dreaded that conversation. Though they were lovely people and would say yes, he didn’t overly enjoy the prospect of having to talk to them. Feeling a wet tongue drag over his forearm snapped him from his thoughts and he looked at the dog once again. “What’s your name, boy?” he inquired softly, keeping his tone quiet.
A moment later, he heard a girl yelling at the dog and he tensed as the dog did. He glanced up momentarily before stroking the dog again and he relaxed under his touch. Being yelled at would make anyone tense. It wasn’t even at him and Reef himself had tensed. A minute or so later, he heard an older, calmer voice which belonged to a guy. Glancing up, he looked at the girl and the guy as the dog pranced back over to them to stay by his side. He studied them for a short while before slowly standing up, wiping the beading sweat off his brow and neck, listening as the guy spoke to him. His gaze caught him smiling at him as an offer for apology and Reef gave him a small, hesitant smile back. The feeling of smiling to another person was almost foreign to him, but not alien. When they introduced themselves, Reef let go of his towel, letting it drop over his shoulders before he lowered his hands to his side. He glanced at the young girl as they spoke about something about her being shy before he glanced back at the guy who called himself Nivan when he apologised for the second time.
Reef shook his head, looking at Speedbumb momentarily before his golden gaze met Nivan’s again, offering him a shy smile. “No, it’s completely alright, he’s a cute dog.. Very friendly,” he said lightly. “Oh, and I’m Reef,” he said, running a hand through his slightly damp hair. He glanced around the dog park for a short moment, noting only older couple were there and Nori and Nivan were the only younger people. “It’s, um, odd to see anyone other than the elderly here at this time,” Reef commented lightly, feeling slightly nervous about speaking so much. He glanced at his watch; 8:44.. He should probably head home soon, but he couldn’t just take off and seem rude.
(Sorry it's not very long O.o )

Re: Crash [R] [Tayssi]
Nivan looked the guy over once more, relieved that they wouldn't have to go through an ass-chewing. He scratched the dog's chin when it was presented, smiling down at the animal when it licked his hand gratefully. Nivan nodded in agreement when Reef commented about Speedbump's friendliness, laughing quietly when Nori added, "Sometimes a little too friendly." The dog wagged his tail as she spoke, looking over at her, panting with his tongue hanging out of his mouth, probably oblivious to the conversation. "Yeah, I guess it is." Nivan responded, glancing around the park, wracking his mind for something else to say. "More peaceful though, don't you think?" Nori asked, easily noticing her brother's inner turmoil. Nivan nodded in agreement, gladly hitching a ride on his sister's question.
Speedbump's head snapped around at the sound of barking from the other end of the bark, his ears perked and muscles tense, making it obvious he was ready to run. Nivan hastily clipped a thin black leash onto the dog, snapping his fingers to pry the dog's attention away from the barking. He looked up at Nivan, tail still wagging innocently. Rolling his eyes playfully, Nivan redirected his gaze to Reef. "So uh-" He began, only to be interrupted by Nori cursing and shoving her phone into her pocket. "See you later, Nivan. I gotta go!" She quickly turned, heading hurriedly down the pathway. "Where?" He called over his shoulder, wondering where the hell his sister had to be. "Starbucks!" She answered, and started to run, disappearing from sight a few minutes later.
Shrugging his shoulders, he looked back at Reef, hoping the guy wasn't too weirded out by his little sister. "Sorry about her. She can be a little... odd at times." Nivan explained, smiling sheepishly. He brushed his bangs from his eyes, and readjusted his beanie so it wasn't constantly threatening to fall into his face. "So, I won't hold you any longer than needed.. It was nice to meet you?" Nivan wasn't entirely good at formalities. He reached down to scratch Speedbump again, straightening quickly to avoid being licked in the face. Pulling his own phone out, he sent a quick text to Nori, telling her to be careful before returning his full attention to Reef. Sighing softly, he started to speak again,"Maybe I'll see you around sometime...?"
[This was unacceptably short.]
