Rude Awakenings
Arnou
The sunlight filtering down through the spruce leaves overhead painted the foliage below with a warm emerald radiance, illuminating the forest with a hazy glow. Gaps in the knarled boughs above revealed thin streams of liquid gold in which particles of dust found themselves caught; floating lazily down to the fertile floor, only to be lifted up again with the slightest stirring of breath, trapped in the unending cycle of an indolent boredom. A shrill warning cry cut through the cacophony of chaotic voices echoing through the air, silencing them all as every mouth turned a listening ear to the intruder's direction.
A large wolf padded quietly through the trees, meandering on in a seemingly directionless path around the twisted trunks and exposed roots. Shaggy black fur hung thickly from his pelt, his white underbelly and markings standing out vividly against the dim shadows. Each footfall was heavy and definitive, symbolizing a beginning and an end thrown together. He didn't know where he was going, nor did he quite care; he just knew that he was going, and that his past wasn't coming with him. For a long while, the air around him was silent, save for the occasional hoot of an owl flying overhead or scurrying of a fox through the brush.
Heavy footsteps alerted him to the wolf's presence; muted by the forest floor, they grew louder and closer with every step. Hackles rising, Arnou came to a stop, his tail hanging low between his legs, a low growl emitting from between his bared teeth. The footsteps stopped; slowly, the black brute cocked his ears forward, listening. When the howl split through the night air, a rush of wind sweeping a female's heat scent directly at him, he flattened himself against the growl, a silent snarl disfiguring his face.
"Show yourself!" Even with his ears flattened against his skull, Arnou could distinctly hear the two words breaking the silence, as well as those which followed them. Snorting softly, he bared his teeth and stood, obediently walking in the general direction of the fae. 'Feisty one, she must be,' he thought to himself, amused, though his face failed to show so. He found it almost cute, in fact: he may not be the biggest or strongest brute out there, but surely he would be able to handle just one female, should the need arise.
"Well well, aren't you in a lovely mood today," he commented dryly, the white wolf's fur sticking out quite clearly against the shadowy forest, a mocking lilt to his words. "I have as much right to this forest as you." Up close, he inhaled deeply, his lips peeling back from his gums, a quiver running the length of his body at her scent.
OOC; sorry it's short and late, had quite a bit of trouble writing this.

OOC: Oh that's okay. I hate 7 paragraph posts. xD.
Silent snarled, her hackles raising and her fur puffing out, standing only an inch shorter than this brute. "Correction. Deadly. Not lovely." Silent sneered, her lip pulling up in disgust. Silent's blue eyes blazed with anger as she faced the black brute, no fear showing in the ocean orbs that shone brightly in the moonlit sky. His next comment made her snarl more, as if a tree was being split in half. Who did this brute think he was!? Certainly not an Alpha. Or even an Omega. Hell no. She wasn't going to back down to a brute. Her pearly white teeth flashed as she snapped her jaws together, making an aggressive barking sound that looked as if she'd kill him. But not even Silent was cruel enough to kill a brute that has done her no harm. Yet. The white fae looked the brute in the eyes, her masculine muscles bunching together as her ears laced back. "Did I say you didn't!? Don't think so. If I were you brute, I'd get going before I tare you apart like a freshly killed elk." Silent snarled, rising to her full height which happened to be 6'1. Very large for a fae. Silent was a trained assassin, and clearly threatening. To pretty much any wolf.

Everything about this white fae screamed aggressive, which amused Arnou quite a bit. He didn't even know her name, much less anything about her, and yet he was greeted with this little act? She made no sense to him. But then again, did females ever make sense? "No compromises, no regrets, Kid." Luka's voice filled Arnou's mind, and he let out a hate-filled snarl at his mentor's words. How far did he physically have to run to escape the monster?
Steely blue orbs watched the fae carefully as she drew herself up, making no move to match her height. Who exactly did she think she was, queen of the forest? She didn't smell of other wolves, so she certainly was no one of rank in a pack, so why should she look down so greatly upon Arnou? He could almost spit, he was so irritated.
"Pardon me, Miss, but I was simply doing as you asked; after all, it was you who told me to show myself. Now you want me to leave?" His voice retained the same mocking lilt to it as before, but now sarcasm and annoyance seeped into his words as well. So first she screamed that she would kill him, when she didn't even know who he was; then she demanded he "show himself", and now she wanted him out of her sight? Well, it was a good thing Arnou had never been very good at taking orders. Even as aggressive and clearly threatening her stance was, Arnou's pride did not allow for him to back down to the pearly white fae. However, he made no move to match her aggression, his ears held loosely against his crown, crouching lowly on the ground, lips once again covering his gums. If need be, he would have no problems defending himself, but by making himself lower than her, he hoped to avoid any physical confrontation.
OOC; ah, okay. And I thought she was 5'2", not 6'1"? Haha xD But no worries.

OOC: Wolves can rise higher than their regular height.
Silent's eyes burned with hatred as she looked the brute over, her fur puffing out more. "I know what you want brute." Silent snarled. "How easy would it have been to ignore me and just leave?" Silent stomped a paw, huffing with disgust. Silent sighed and turned away, not wanting to look at the brute. Her eyes grew sad and depressed now. Looking back at him quickly, she now stood at regular height, head hanging low. "Forgive me. But having a father like mine wasn't easy. Especially since he forced me at three months old." Silent spat, sitting down to look at her paws. She hated her father with passion. Silent was stubborn for sure, and quite aggressive. But she wasn't a heartless being. But not very trusting either. Her ears were no longer laced back, but flattened in shame and hatred. Not so much towards this brute, but to others. Life was always hard for her. Silent looked at this brute and only saw her brother. Only he had darker eyes than this brute Silent was staring at. Padding off, she stood at the side of the peak once more, looking over the land carefully. No scents but the brute's and her own. 'Good.' Silent thought, snorting softly.

"Great, then maybe you can tell me, because I wasn't aware I wanted anything from you." He snapped back in annoyance. She knew what he wanted? Why was it that everyone assumed he wanted something from them? Arnou shook his head in annoyance, paws flexing as he dug his front nails into the dirt. "And not sure if this should be a shock to you or not, but it can be quite hard to ignore someone when they're threatening you," he pointed out, hackles rising slightly again as her own fur puffed out. What was he supposed to do, run away from her threats with his tail between his legs? He hadn't exactly been raised to run away and hide.
As quickly as the fae had greeted him with hostility just moments ago, she now turned away from him, shoulders seeming to slump forward in what could be mistaken as defeat. Arnou watched him warily, rising so he was now standing, out of his previous crouch. Was this a trap? Her words shocked him, leaving him unsure of what to say. Slowly, his ears came forward, pointed towards her now, listening carefully, his body tensed and ready to spring if necessary. A fleeting thought of surging through the forest, away from this strange white she-wolf flashed through his mind, tempting him to just turn tail and run now, but he hesitated. Perhaps she was just trying to get him to drop his guard, but if she was sincere right now, would it really be best to leave her like this.? Arnou shook his head in frustration.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know." The words sounded and felt rather cliché on his tongue, but they were sincere, and he knew not what else to say.

Silent laid down and huffed softly, her paws hanging over the peak's edge and she looked over the landscape. His rugged voice bled in her ears, causing her to look back at the brute shockingly. She rose to her paws, and turned around to look at the brute carefully. "It's okay. I haven't seen him for years, and hope not to." Silent spoke softly, her angelic Australian accent strong. This brute was sorry for her? Wow. "My name is Silent Night. Silent for short." She told him, eyeing him warily. Silent sat down, rolling her shoulders softly, letting the fur on her blades rest. But she was aware of any attack from this brute if he attempted any. "If anything, I should be sorry. I haven't been trusting of brutes for so long, it's been a habit of mine. I've lived alone almost my whole life. Apart from my father whom had abused me and forced me as his sex toy." Silent spoke once more, now stepping back to allow the brute to speak in his own words.

Rude Awakenings
Arnou
The two-toned brute was content for now with just listening to her, reigning his thoughts in to keep them from spilling out his mouth. He had never known any of his family; Arnou had never cared to hear much about his father, though he had been told he was a famous and heroic brute; his mother had died giving birth to him; and his siblings had all died shortly after birth. He had been the only survivor, really, out of his whole family. For most of his life he had mourned their deaths, even though he had never known them. But if he had, he knew he would have loved them, no matter how terrible to him they may have been. Of course, what this fae's own father did to her was terrible and unspeakable, and undoubtably she had a different opinion than him concerning family, but nonetheless. Bringing his rear forward, he sat down. Lifting a paw, he tilted his head down to begin to clean between his nails, but hesitated. Thinking better of it, he lifted his head again, eyes refocusing on the fae as he set his paw back on the ground.
'Silent. Well, now we're getting somewhere,', he commented dryly to himself, then mentally kicked himself for being insensitive. "I'm Arnou," he gave his own name as well, rolling the syllables slowly over his tongue. 'It's a pleasure meeting you,' almost came out as well, but he held his tongue and ended his words with his name instead, listening to her speak again.
[color#009999]"I've learned," he started slowly, "That it's better to not be sorry, when it's something you can't control. And it seems to me that you have every right to live as you do." As he spoke, Arnou again found himself inspecting his nails again, but instead of itching them with his teeth, he dug them into the dirt instead. All the better to not appear rude, he decided, tilting his head back to stretch out his neck muscles before speaking again. "You don't have to trust easily, but it's also just as bad to automatically assume everyone is your enemy and out to get you."
OOC; I rambled a bit- I'm still kinda trying to get a feel for how Arnou would speak. xD He's much different from me haha.

Re: яυ∂є αωαкєиιиgѕ [r] [OPEN]
The white fae looked at the brute. 'Arnou. Not a bad name.' Silent thought, her blue eyes looking over the muscular male. "You have a point on my trust issues. But brutes. They are just so... Mysterious. Every brute I met other than my brother were forcers and abusive." Silent said softly, looking at the ground in shame. "His name was Hawk." Silent added, her Russian accent booming with sorrow. She hadn't seen her brother since he drove out her father, the last lime he forced her. "Four times. Four times my horrid father forced me. Other times he just did it for pleasure." She spat, her voice now turning back to venomous and aggressive. Not to Arnou, but to the memories of her horrid father. If you got on Silent's good side, she wasn't so bad. Stubborn and still hard-headed, but sweet and loving. "Your mentor's name was Luka wasn't it?" Silent guessed. Silent had known Luka, and he spoke of Arnou many times.

Arnou
"Seems to me," he started slowly, rolling the words around in his mouth, "that maybe you've just had bad luck with men." Arnou didn't mean this in any offensive way or to imply anything, despite how it may have come out, but simply was stating his opinions. Shaking his large black head, he peered out at her with his lightly colored orbs, letting his shoulders relax. This certainly had turned into an interesting day.
At the mention of Luka's name, Arnou's body tensed again, his hackles involuntarily rising a fraction. Mixed feelings coursed through his body, muddling his mind- Luka had raised him, in a way, taking the place his father should have held. Arnou had trusted him- no, he had absolutely adored and idolized Luka; he would have followed him anywhere and everywhere. And, for a long time, he had. But Luka was not who he had once thought him to be.
Arnou's ears twitched back, laying low to his head again, eyeing this she-wolf, Silver, carefully. Did she know Luka?
"Yes, he was." Arnou spoke the words slowly, carefully, uncertainly. "How did you know?"
OOC; haha, no worries.

OOC: Her name's Silent. xD
Silent stared at Arnou for only a couple heart beats before blinking once then speaking. "I knew Luka. He was a friend of my brother's, and Luka spoke of you fairly often." Silent explained, shrugging her shoulders softly. The white she-wolf lowered her head to the ground, sniffing it softly. Silent gazed back up to Arnou, her massive crown lifting once more to face the brute. "Luka wasn't too bad of a brute. Better than most." Silent half spat, her voice partly venomous. She was never much of a Luka fan, but learned to tolerate the brute.
"Can you guess who my mentor was?" Silent asked, smirking softly. Her mentor was a master assassin known as Layla, whom was well known. Layla was far more hard-headed and dangerous than Silent was.
(I might bring Layla into this. I'd prepare for some serious assassination and terrifying nature.)

Arnou's steely eyes analyzed the she-wolf carefully, gauging her words in his mind. One full heartbeat passed, then half of another, before he shook his massive crown slowly and lowered his hulking black and white figure to the ground, front paws clawing into the soft soil at his feet. "Better than most? No, he was worst than most, but not quite as bad as others. Either way, he's a soulless bastard." Voice completely devoid of emotion, Arnou rubbed a paw against the side of his face. A slow minute of silence passed before Silent spoke again, a shallow breeze shuffling her glistening fur.
"I wasn't aware you had a mentor," he replied, lifting his gaze to match her own. There was a cockiness about her now, and Arnou's brow creased slightly. Obviously it was someone she was proud of having learned from, so Arnou replied with a single, simple word, knowing she was smart enough to guess what he was asking.
"Who?"
OOC; hey, sorry, I haven't been able to get on at all these past few days. ^^

Silent snorted. "Then you should have met my father." Silent sneered, her tail flicking softly. She smirked at his question of who her mentor was, and just chuckled. "My mentor was Layla. A highly trained assassin. I'll never be as good as her though." Silent told him, remembering the female that trained her. "I'll never forget her..." She added, her dark blue eyes facing the ground. Silent never did forget Layla. But once Silent's training was done, Layla left to continue with her duties of being an assassin.

Re: яυ∂є αωαкєиιиgѕ [r] [OPEN]
Rude Awakenings
Arnou
Arnou rolled his eyes slightly. Was this a competition to see who knew the bigger monster? Why was she so adamant about Luka being "better than most"? No, he had not know her father, but he had known Luka, and was any one monster really any worse than another? Because when it came down to it, a monster was still a monster.
"I never met her," he said simply, watching her carefully. There was a melancholy that had seemed to settle over her now. Arnou shook his heavy crown, his long black fur swinging from side to side as he did so. "It's not good to live your life wishing you were somebody else," he pointed out. To live in another's shadow, telling yourself over and over again that you could never be like them… it was like a slow killing plague, constricting the will to live out of oneself.
OOC; No worries. Quality over quantity, right? ;3

OOC: Lol, yeah. And sorry for late reply. Power went out. xD
Silent glanced Arnou's way, flashing her fangs once. "I didn't say I wanted to be her. I just kind of looked up to her, and I haven't seen her for about a year or more." She told him, trying to stay as nice as possible. "Did Luka ever say anything about Hawk?" Silent asked, rotating her large head to look at the brute with her dark ocean blue eyes. Shifting her weight a little bit, her paws hung further off of the edge of Wolf's Head Peek.
"I heard that Hawk had helped Luka mentor you every once in a while, but I can't know for sure. Hawk was always on the go, and only once or twice a week would we get time to have fun." Silent said, laying her head down.

Re: яυ∂є αωαкєиιиgѕ [r] [OPEN]
A thick furred Arctic Wolf watched in silence, his multi colored optics shimmered;the color of changing leaves in autumn. They were a deep mix of hazel, forest green, amber, golden, and pumpkin orange. His ivory coat flitted in the wind, like a bird trying to escape it's cage. He flicked his auds and stepped into the light, which reflected off his alabaster fur. His tone was rough and sound like the crackle of fresh leaves under heavy pawsteps. "Ah, what a beautiful Madame. Exuse me, but are you partners?" He asked, licking his ebony lips. He was usually quite annoying, and a deep grin crossed his maw this time.

(I don't care what your gender is, I call everyone dude. I realize you're new. But could you PM me before dropping into a topic that has already started? And there's a button that says delete your post, then you press 'Yes'. Look, I'm sorry for my attitude. I tend to snap very easily, and my attitude has gotten worse. I've been going through a lot, and I'm just not very happy.)

(I only see the report and edit. My grandma just died, and I was almost forced to go to her funeral. What's wrong?)

(I really can't talk about it. It's the one thing that has actually caused my walls to crumble... Everyday, I have to force a smile. But it's personal.)
