It's No Surprise (R) (Reserved)
Rain splashed on the sidewalk, forming puddles on the highway and soaking any that weren't lucky enough to have an umbrella. Callie was one of those people. She hugged herself tightly, teeth chattering as she hurried towards her destination. Her brown hair was plastered to her face, darkened by the water. The thin brown sweater offered little protection from the biting rain, and the flared jeans did just as much. People glanced at her, faces half hidden by coat collars or shielded from view by their hoodies. Callie looked around, searching for the bright neon sign that signaled her favorite club. There were many, but none of them were the iridescent mixture of green and blue she knew so well. The night just couldn't get any better. She was soaked, shivering, and was lost in her own hometown. Her fuse was dangerously short at the moment, her wolf side ready to make an appearance at any time.
Finally, after walking several blocks, Callie came upon the fancy looking pub, and slipped inside. A blast of warm air and music greeted her. Her shivering soon stopped. Calli wasn't old enough to drink, but that didn't stop her from enjoying the rest of the things the club had to offer. There was dancing, but she wasn't dressed for that. Besides, it didn't seem like much fun at the moment. So she retired to a secluded booth in the back, snuggling against the overstuffed cushions and watched the gyrating dancers. Her love for the club was unwonted. Calli didn't seem like the kind of girl to enjoy hanging out with such a crowd, but it was the thrill, she guessed. Her pack was so strict. But they couldn't control her when she was in her human form. Officially 19, Calli was free to explore and entertain new ideas and have all the fun she liked. And she did. She loved rubbing it in their faces that they couldn't control her as a human. They had known it was coming. A once loyal pack member had grown rebellious, and avoided them at all costs now. The only thing they could convince her to like any more was hunting. Callie snorted. Yeah, attacking humans and animals was just as fun as it got with her pack. Rolling her eyes, Calli let out a deep breath and prepared for a long night.
