It was mid winter and snow fell heavily blinding the old figure, she moved very slowly. Her big pregnant belly bulging out, in spring she would have what was probably one of her last foals. She was all alone, being too slow to keep up with her herd and they couldn't afford to slow down or rest for the mare. No one could afford something like that in this harsh weather, not even for a single foal... They needed for and to keep moving for warmth not to mention find water. She had to force her weanling to leave her and go with another mare, which wasn't very easy. Her old knees popped and every step she took her bones creaked. She watched as she saw her mare at the end of the herd disappear, he had tried to urge her faster but she was simply to tired. I hope I'll catch up soon with them, she thought hopefully.
