Storming Ghost

White steam arose from two large nostrils disapearing into the air. The crisp cold morning was of early spring though winter had took one last strike before ending today. Snow fell from the sky in tons, the big thick looking flakes resting down where they fell then quickly melted away. The young stallion snorted, he was tired of winter and anxious for spring. It was the time of most horse birthing and sometimes in heat mares though summer was much more common for that. The grey stallion shook his coat then walked to the batcholer herd's leader, "Hey, are we going to get a move on for food?" He asked and the other stud nodded, nieghed, and off they went. They passed a few herds on the way to the best feeding grounds in winter. Once there the herd spread out and began to eat. They had only been there for a few minutes when a herd stallion came running up to fight our leader so that his herd could have the food. Storm watched curiously while shuffling a thing layer of snow off the grass, he hoped for the best for the batchalor herd......they had already lost two young stallions to winter.

(Ok so a mare would never be alone in the wild unless birthing so no stray mares.)

arrived at the top of the hill in the height of spring with her band. this was were all the horses of the arrowhead mountains came at this time of the year. Flicka's heat scent as well as all the other mares in her band wafted in the air, exciting the stallions.
then the chase began. a bachelor stallion came barreling towards the herd, trying to steal one of the mares in flicka's herd. flicka's band stallion quickly snaked then away, then chased after the stallion. one stallion challenged her band stallion after the other. Flicka was veering left and right.
