Brothers stick together [For Tayssi - PG13]
Well let's just say it was hot. Very hot. And when you are covered in 2 inch thick fur...it's pretty darn miserable. It think you would agree...
Aeron and bandit had been traveling like they always do, this was nothing new to them. But where they had been the past few weeks was horribly dry and not shaded very well. Dehydration came quickly and so to keep his little brother safe, Aeron stopped rather frequently in what caves or shade they could find. Water was hard to find as well because of the conditions. Bandit was already exhausted and lied down beneath the lone tree for which they rested under. "Must we continue?" He pouted. "I'm afraid so. We have to find some water. Without that...well we are good as dead." Seeing his brother's defeated and tired expression, Aeron tried to think of a plan. He looked around and scanned the land for as far as he could see. Pleased with what he saw (or didn't see) he turned back to Bandit. "If you promise to stay EXACTLY at THIS tree, I will go off ahead and scout for water. But you must promise me you will stay here." Bandit looked up happily, his tail wagging, and he nodded. "Sounds great! Be sure it is fresh and clean though, grit always gets between my teeth." Aeron rolled his eyes at his brother as he departed. For an hour or so, he searched slowly growing tired. ~There has to be some somewhere, otherwise the vegetation here couldn't grow.~ As if Fate had answered him, up ahead he saw a large patch of trees. He walked towards it cautiously, though his body screamed to run. Sure enough as he reached the spot, there was an oasis of water. He lapped it up to his fill and went back for Bandit. The young 2 year old was pouncing on prairie mice. ~Not exhausted now is he...~ Upon seeing his brother, Bandit immediately stopped and acted as if the weight of the world was on his shoulders. "No need to fake anymore Bandit. I found some water. Come follow me." They departed to the oasis.
An hour later the brothers laid happily in the vegatation surrounding the water. There was shade here and it felt cool with a slight breeze. They were tired after drinking their fill, though hunger began to slowly creep in. Eventually they would need to hunt.

"Hana! Come on, we should get going," Nema called to the white and black fae. She watched as the younger and smaller fae leapt to her paws and padded over quickly without a single word. "Hachi, look after the pack whilst i'm gone in my place," Nema said to another fae who was standing near them. The black fae gave a nod and then Nema and Hana walked off to scout their territory. Everyone in the pack was used to the dry heat that dehydrated most wolves. Everyone was accumstomed now and didn't need as much water as the wolves used to the cooler places which surrounded their territory. Which made some of the wolves in the pack think they were better then the other wolves in the land. "We should go check the water holes, first, to make sure no one has trespassed," Hana said and Nema nodded in agreement.
The larger of the faes bolted ahead, her brown and yellowish fur seemed to be a blur before the white & black wolf chased after her, soon catching up to her.
Two of the 3 watering holes were safe and clean and Hana gave a soft huff before she took a small drink. "There is bound to be someone at the last one. Probably a weaker fae," Nema said as Hana raised her head. The two made their way slowly towards the last watering hole in their territory. They had to make sure no rogues were at their water. As, too many wolves drinking from them, they would soon disappear. Especially from the wolves used to cooler, less dry climates.
Once they came to it, as suspected, there was someone there. No.. Two. Nema's brown fur bristled and her tail swished in agitation. Beside her, Hana was just watching. The brown fae nipped the white one's shoulder before they walked down towards them. "You do realise you are on our territory, right? You should have known this land belonged to the Laiku Pack," Nema said boldly, Hana just following from behind. The brown fae gave a soft growl as she stood a metre or so away from the larger male, as Hana sat beside her.

Re: Brothers stick together [For Tayssi - PG13]
Aeron was awoken from his light sleep from a sound of footsteps. After many years of sleeping alone and outside he grew accustomed to listening for surprise intruders at a moment's notice. So by the time the two faes approached he was awake and sitting. He nudged Bandit but shushed him to remain quiet. "Don't speak unless spoken to." The young pup huffed but stood up, keeping his tail low and staying behind Aeron. His older brother had taught him pack formalities since he was only a pup when they were both chased off.
Aeron bowed his head for only a moment in greeting. However he was lead in HIS two wolf pack and so held his head up just as she. "My apologies. I am new to these parts and smelt no markings. My brother and I were thirsty and were merely trying to find drink." He looked over the orange fae's shoulder to the black on e behind her, speaking to the both. "I am sorry for trespassing, I had no intention of doing harm." He was an expert at speaking with other wolves, for he had to do so often when he traveled as they passed from one territory to another. He could easily put on a poker face and it would be very very hard to suspect anything. However in this instance he was telling the truth. He was only concerned for his brother's health. He would trespass if it meant saving his brother's life, but he did not say this for it may be taken in the wrong context.

Nema watched the larger brute as he lowered his head and then answered her words a few minutes later. She cocked her head to the side, ear flicking lightly. "Well then, if you guys are done, you can -" Nema started, however Hana jumped forward, tail wagging as she watched the two males. "Aw, come on, let them stay for a little while. They don't seem to be doing anything wrong, and if they do, we can always call for the rest of the pack," Hana said, turning to the alpha fae. "Hana, Luhgi won't allow it, and you know," Nema started, but the white and black fae nudged the alpha and shook her head, "I'll convince him. And, actually, if you speak to him, he'll say yes. You know that," Hana said. Nema sighed and then turned her attention to Aeron and Bandit. "I shall speak to him," she said finally, "however, I wuld like to know you're names," she watched them for a moment before Hana smiled.
"I'm Hana, and she's Nema, the alpha fae of our pack," Hana said, padding over to them and sniffing Aeron for a moment before she went over to Bandit and nudged him, her tail wagging a mile a minute.

Re: Brothers stick together [For Tayssi - PG13]
Aeron smiled at, was it Hana?, energy. She reminded him of Bandit. He politely sniffed back and engraved her scent in his memory with all the other hundreds of scents he knew. Now it would be familiar to him in case he smelt it again. As she went over to Bandit, he shifted his attention back to Nema. "I am Aeron and this is my younger brother Bandit. We are only wanderers so if our stay will cause any anxiety, I do not wish to be a burden." Again his head was held high as well as his tail, as much as he was respectful he also kept to his wanderer ways.
Bandit was also wagging like crazy when Hana came over to sniff him. He loved this fae's energy! She nearly matched his own. When she sniffed at him, he playfully nipped her ear and lowered his front half in a pounce position. This was a sign he wanted to play and was hoping she would engage with him.

Re: Brothers stick together [For Tayssi - PG13]
Nema nodded to the older brute, named Aeron and she sat down, ignoring his body language for now. "Well, you and I shall head over to the pack and there I shall speak to the alpha to see if you two can stay with us for a while. Hana shall stay here with Bandit until we get back," Nema said before she turned around, motioning for Aeron to follow and started to walk, saying, "do not worry. Your brother shall be safe here with Hana," she said as she glanced at the two younger wolves before walking again.
Hana laughed at Bandit's actics before she lowered her front half of her body and then pouncing on the young wolf and nipping the side of is head softly and then bounding off with another laugh. The young fae skidded to a stop and then turned and looked at Bandit, tongue hanging out the side with a playful huff.

Re: Brothers stick together [For Tayssi - PG13]
Aeron nodded in agreement with Nema. "Alright. Then let us meet your alpha." The male part of him wanted to fight the alpha and gain a pack, but he easily subsided these thoughts. He didn't know how he would be as an alpha. He definitely had the strength, honor, and leadership but part of him was afraid that he may make a mistake and get someone hurt. So since he and his brother were chased away, they avoided packs keeping to themselves. Word had spread about them. The "Warrior Brothers" is what they called them. Occasionally they would help solve disputes or help lone wolves find safety.
As they departed, Aeron looked back for a moment and shook his head chuckling. "Be good brother." He whispered almost like a prayer. Then he turned and followed beside Nema.
Bandit yipped at the nip and bounded after the fae. His tongue hung out the side of his mouth and one of his ears had folded down, making him look rather silly. He pounced at her and nipped at her neck. Then he gently wrapped his front legs around her head and pushed down to the side to knock her on the ground. A small bark escaped him as he finally found someone to play with.
His brother played with him quite often but it was nice to have someone his size, age, and energy level.

Re: Brothers stick together [For Tayssi - PG13]
Nema found the pack soon enough and in reponse to both her and the intruders, all the wolves stood up, some lowering their head to the alpha fae, some had their hackles raised at the brute. Nema huffed in mild annoyance and walked to the only wolf who was not laying down. He looked at Nema and gave a low nod, but then his gaze flicked to Aeron, and the wolf growled and pushed himself to his paws. He was about half an inch taller then the other brute and his brown and white fur seemed dull and dark, however threatening compared to Aeron's. "Who is this?" He growled towards Nema, ignoring the brute now. "He's just passing through, Axor. However he and his brother are tired and Hana and I were wondering if you would allow them to stay; just for a short time," Nema said. Axor huffed and cocked his head to the side, "and you do not mind that they stay here, Nema?" he asked. She shook her head, "no, I do not mind, they seem harmless enough. And in any case, two of them against an entire pack?" she said and Axor sat down for a moment, thinking it through.
He then stood up again and stepped towards the smaller brute, raising his head high, tail straight, testing to see whether he would bow down or stand his ground. "Whilst you are in my territory, you must obey what both Nema and I say. Our word is law in this land and you must abide by them. Got that?" Axor said with a huff.
Hana yelped in mild surprise as he jumped on her, nipping her neck. Hana's tail wagged furiously and she fell to the ground as he pushed against her. She stared up at him for a moment before she rolled and pinning him under her before nipping his ear and then gave a soft bark of joy before she pushed off of him and bounded around to the other side of the water hole. However, due to her own clumsiness, she slipped in the muddy bank and fell into it with a yelp, followed by a splash.

Re: Brothers stick together [For Tayssi - PG13]
Aeron followed beside Nema and ignored the somewhat numerous growls coming from some wolves in the pack. He was used to this and only smiled a greeting to the kinder ones. ~Ahh...the law of a pack...how I do not miss this..~ He smiled in amusement to his own thoughts as they continued into what seemed the center of this pack's territory.
As they approached this area, he saw what was no doubt the Alpha. He was slightly taller than Aeron, however he was slimmer than Aeron was. Immediately, as was his instinct, he calculated the alpha and noted all possible weak spots. This was his custom learned the hard way through past unkind alphas that he had met. Besides when you have someone of something of priceless value to fight for, you fight longer and harder than you ever could under normal circumstances. So with all this said, Aeron was not fearful or even threatened. However he did have manners and knew respect was the major law within a pack. And so he kept quiet during the short exchange between Nema and him.
After a few moments Axor, as he had heard Nema call him, turned to him with an aggressive look. Also he noticed him stand taller and this he had also seen. As was always his response, though risky, Aeron kept his tail high and kept his head only an inch below the alphas. Though this wasn't a pack, he himself was also an alpha of his own sort and so had rights to that rank. Some alphas responded with respect at Aeron's boldness and commended him on his courage, others fought him calling it rude and blasphemy, while the rest really just didn't care. He was curious to see Axor's response.
After the Alpha finished, Aeron replied with his deep gruff tone of voice that complimented his warrior like and intimidating appearance. "I understand, Sir the laws of a pack. You will hardly hear or smell my scent while my brother and I are residing here. We only ask for permission to drink from your watering holes and that is all. We can find our own shelter and protect ourselves. There is no need to set up guards for us." This had happened before and annoyed Aeron greatly. Crowds were not favorably to him, he fought better with only his brother who also was an astounding warrior despite his age and immaturity. "I thank you for allowing us to stay here." He bowed his head a moment in thanks before returning it back to it's previous height. Anyone looking upon these two brutes would be awestruck at how masculine and gorgeous they were. Both strong, the more muscular being an inch shorter than the other but both equally matched. It would definitely be a sight to see if the two ever fought.

Re: Brothers stick together [For Tayssi - PG13]
Nema sat downa nd watched the brutes, sighing lightly at Aeron's unwillingness to submit; not that she blamed him. She had never been one to obey Axor. Sure, she was the alpha fae, but she was still technically below him. She shifted her gaze over to Axor and watched as a smirk flickered across his features. Nema knew that Axor was thinking of how good an oponent he would be; he always did. Nema huffed and looked away for a minute or so.
Axor watched his reaction and he smirked. At the brute's words, Axor sat down. "I like you," he said simply, "not many attempt to show any type of dominance or to stand up to me. It's a nice change," he cocked his head to the side and watched him. A moment later, he yawned and then scratched behind his ear, thinking. "Well, I know you two may not like it, but you must have the bare minimum of one wolf from my pack to stay with you. If you like, you may choose, as long as it is not Nema, as, obviously, she has her responsibilities to the pack as an alpha," he said as he finally looked back at him, "I'm sorry, but it's just for precautions. They don't have to stay with you, just watch over you from a distance if you want," he said.
Nema stood up and stretched her legs as she watched them. They were almost the same size, though Aeron a bit shorter, though he had mre muscle proportion then Axor. If they ended up fighting, it would definately be a great sight to see.

Re: Brothers stick together [For Tayssi - PG13]
Aeron inclinded his head in recognition of Axor's words. So his action had proved to be a good one. The brute inside of him was a bit disappointed as it was looking for a well matched fight. But Aeron was contented. He did not want any unnecessary fighting. Upon the rule of having a wolf follow him he sighed. "I thank you for your kind words. Though I respect you I also respect myself. Some Alphas do not understand this concept. I am pleased you do." He bowed his head a moment to emphasize the thanks.
"...as for the guard. I am not one to particularly like extra company but I understand as an Alpha the precautions you must take. So I will abide, only if that wolf is Hana." He knew that the brute may not like the choice of a young fae for fear that Aeron may steal her. But the trespassers intentions were of good reasons. "I have already met her and she seems to enjoy our company. I would not want tension between my brother and I and a pack member that may lead to easily avoided situations. I give you my word I will not harm her." And when Aerob gave his word he stuck to it as life and death. Plus Bandit and Hana seemed to get along. It would give him a break from play fighting.

Re: Brothers stick together [For Tayssi - PG13]
Axor listened to Aeron's words and his tail twitched at the mention of some alphas not understanding. He knew all too well how cruel some alphas could be, which was the reason why he did not take harshly to most trespassers; ofcourse, unless they were looking for trouble. Axor gaze flicked over to Nema for a moment and he watched as the fae was watching the rest of the pack, not really paying attention to their conversation. It was typical of her; always tuning out when she was not needed; yet she always seemed to know what had been said even if she hadn't been listening. He looked back at Aeron as he spoke again, as he asked for Hana to stay with them and for what reason. The larger brute stood up and sighed and then looked at Nema again, who was now looking at Aeron and him.
He gave his word not to harm her, but Axor was not too convinced and he was about to say so, however, Nema stood up and though shorter then he, her look made him shut up. "We agree to your terms," she said and Axor stared at her like she had grown an extra head. She sighed and glanced at him for a moment before looking back at Aeron, "on the condition that I come to check up you guys every so often; just to make sure Hana is alright. Not that I do not doubt you will not harm her, but Hana can be a bit clumsy at times," she explained and ignored Axor's glare. "But Nema-" Axor started but she stepped up to him, butting his shoulder with her head. "Hana will be fine, Axor," she said, silencing him as she nipped his neck. Which, even as an alpha fae was a sign of dominance towards him, but both Nema and Axor did not care. They were not a typical pack. They weren't cruel.
"With that over,"Nema said, nudging Axor's cheek lightly nad stepping over to Aeron and nudging him to turn around and walk,"let's head back. I need to tell hana what is going on."
