Discoveries (PG-13)
ooc: Figured the first one should be pretty basic, not jump to quickly into things. As it goes on I may cause 'problems' to arrise and may change the rating of this thread. You guys can start threads as well if you want, with different plots.
bic: It was so dark there. How was it possible for everything to be living down below when barely any light hit the ground. Then again, it was hot enough. And the humidity was off the charts. Caesar could hear the rain pattering high above him, though only a few drops would actually hit the ground. They kept hitting all the leaves on the way down so there wasn't much water left. The spanish stallion lifted his dark brown gaze to the trees above, his nostrils flaring as he took in the warm damp scent of the vast jungle. It was so different from anywhere he had ever been before. A screaching sounded and he whirled around, only to duck low as a colorful bird flashed past him. His ears lay back for a moment, snorting a challenge to the strange bird that dared to try and attack him. But it was no longer in sight, having returned to the tree tops once more. But he still felt on edge, still felt like he was being watched by something. His muscles became tense, but he could not see any new threat. What was out there in the shade of the trees? What was watching him...
"My goodness, I must be loosing my mind. Searching for predators in the trees." He sighed, continueing his walk. He was in search for a safe source of water, as the rain clearly wouldn't be too useful to drink. A river would be best, but a stream would work as well. There weren't that many of them in the herd, but that could soon change and they would need to find a large source of water.

Re: Discoveries (PG-13)
Destiney is the key
The mare looked around exploring the new place. The hot humid weather bugged her she kept moving till something behind her screeched loudly and without thinking her but came down and she raced forward till calmed. She stopped to hear a horse then see him, she couldn't help bit to giggle as he talked to himself looking up into the trees. She then stepped out in front of the stranger, "Hello, talking to yourself I see. " She spoke friendly and held a peaceful look in her eyes. She studied his features, finding him to be quite handsome.Destiny then spoke, "Sorry if I scard you I was just wondering about. I'm Destiny is the key, but call me Destiny."
(Hope you don't mind her not being in the herd yet. )

ooc: It is alright with me. Gives them a way to meet so we won't have to make it up later on XD
bic: The bay stallion paused mid step, a little surprised to see another horse. He had been fairly certain that he was the only one there. But perhaps not. She wasn't familiar, which was only proven by her feeling the need to introduce herself. How had he not seen her coming? The jungle was very dense. He would have to learn to adapt quickly in order to survive. Was she what he had felt was watching him? Somehow he was sure that she wasn't. She didn't have the same eerie feeling that he had felt just moments before, and still felt a little. Something else was out there, but what? There seemed to be animals everywhere, so it was no wonder that one might be watching him. And now this mare, as she has come out onto the path. A deer herd's path, he thought. But maybe he was wrong. Maybe there was already horses here. This 'Destiny' seemed friendly enough, and certainly didn't look like too big of a threat. But hey, size wasn't everything. An arabian, he thought, a desert breed. What was such a horse doing way out here? This certainly wasn't a desert. She was a pretty red chestnut, fine boned like much of her breed of horse.
"No miss, you did not scare me." He said with a smile, bowing his head with a foreleg bent at the knee as well. Everything about him was formal and calm. Even his voice, deep and clear, had a sort of leader's air. "It is very nice to meet you Destiny, I am Caesar. Have you been here long?" The docile expression disappeared from his face as he turned his head back, ears forward and alert. No, perhaps he hadn't heard anything. No wonder deer were so flighty, so very cautious. He straighted up and looked back at the mare as if nothing was wrong. Well, it could be that nothing was wrong. No reason to scare some stranger over nothing.

Destiny watched him bow and smiled then listened to his words, "It's nice to meet you to and no I got here only yesterday." He then looked behind him, she looked to but saw nothing, "What is it?" She asked curiously and looked carefully but still, nothing. "So Caesar how long have you been here?" She asked looking up at the tall stallion who towered her, she was only 15.2 hands and him he was 16 hands by the looks of it.

(I hope this is it)
Wolff followed Caesar, keeping his distance from the larger stallion. He wasn't scared, but simply curious about his surroundings. His sensitive ears caught the word 'predators' and he laid he ears back. "What about predators?" He whinnied, looking around. Wolff sighed unhappily, flicking the flies away from his back and stopping momentarily to sniff a old scent marking on a tree.
When Caesar started talking to the pretty mare, Wolff slipped back a little ways and started grazing on a better patch of grass that lay in the trees.

Re: Discoveries (PG-13)
Caesar watched her for a moment, but his thoughts were cut off by the young stallion. That horse was so quiet, he had almost forgotten he was there at all. No, no he really did forget he was there. And yet this still did not ease the feeling of being watched by something dangerous. Maybe they should just keep walking, leave this area for a while. Then it would go away. He decided to take this chance to answer them both at once. "I am certain that I heard something. In the trees back there. Just a slight rustle, nothing to worry about probably. If it were going to attack us it probably would have already done so." He said, in something of a matter-of-fact way. He watched as Wolff as the small colt wandered off a little in search for food. A colt, but surely not for long. Caesar did not know of his age, but he acted less and less like a colt every day. It would be a while before anyone dubbed in a stallion, but Wolff was well on his way. "Not that there are many creatures that would dare take on three horses, save, perhaps, for a lion." The bay had never seen a lion himself, but he had heard stories of them, seen horses that were left brutally scarred by their claws.
There. Again his eyes focused on the trees behind him, turning his whole body to get a better look. He squinted a little, tilting his head to the side some as he puzzled over what he was seeing. A great tan beast was laying stretched out on the branch of a thich tree, his tail swishing as he watched the horses with mild interest. It was an odd creature, covered in dark spots that looked like they were outlined in an even darker color. It was a cat, a huge cat. Caesar didn't know how long it had been watching them, but it seemed only curious instead of ready to leap down and attack them all. "Up there. What is that? I've never seen a cat so large." Was it a lion? No, no they said that lions were the color of the desert sand, that sometimes they could even blend into the dunes. This thing could never blend into sand with all its spots. But here, with the light leaking through the trees in splotches, it fit right in.

Re: Discoveries (PG-13)
The mare started to tremble seeing the great big beast, "I-it's a a a a." She was to scard to say it, "Leopard, a man and horse eating beast!" Destiny said slowly backing far away from the tree, she didn't care if it seemed uninterested, she wasn't going to risk it. She starred at the great tan beast covered in spoches of black, the whites of her eyes showing as she timidly stepped backwards.

"That isn't good." Wolff said, returning to Caesar's side with a nervous snort. The colt spotted the large cat in the trees, and blinked. "Fight or flight?" He asked, nudging Caesar's shoulder. Wolff tried not to tremble, and he failed miserably. He couldn't just dash away and leave the two, even though it would be very easy. "Good kitty.." He whispered, laying his ears back. "If we run, do we-, you two stand a chance of getting away?" He said, looking at the pair.

Re: Discoveries (PG-13)
The gentlemanly horse did his best not to laugh. Their fears weren't anything to laugh at, surely. Perhaps it was simply because he was better at reading muscle tension, perhaps if they saw the cat as he did they would not fret so badly. He looked down at the two of them, a slight smile pulling at his maw. The muscled spanish stallion moved forward, coming to stand almost directly under the cat. They stared at each other, dark brown eyes into the cool yellow ones of a curious creature. The cat sat up, still just watching them in interest. But he was a little frightened. It probably wasn't every day that an animal so willingly came closer to it. He yowled a warning to the horse, though settled back down soon enough. The horse wasn't moving any closer, wasn't trying to climb the tree after him, so he had no reason to attack it. The bay turned slowly to face his companions again, keeping a good, light hearted expression on his face. "Do not fret. He will not attack. If you will just look at him; he looks curious, not hungry. He is mostly relaxed," Or, he was until Caesar came so near to him.
"An animal getting ready to attack would be tight and tense." Just like the two of them, though they were ready to bolt instead. He again looked up at the cat, who found the three of them immensely odd indeed. "He must have never seen a horse before." This didn't mean that he wouldn't try to kill one of them later, when he was hungry. But that wouldn't be for a few more days at least. "It is not him that you should worry about, but more like him that may be out there searching for a meal. I think it is a safe bet to stay close together. We are much larger than they are, and they may become afraid of us instead of the other way around."

"Really?" He asked, tilting his head and looking at the cat in a new way. "OK... he isn't that bad, I guess." Wolff turned to face Destiny, and nuzzled her in greeting. "Wolff." He said simply, and returned to Caesar's side. "How did you learn to tell if something is ready to attack or not? I mean, looking at them is pretty obvious, but looks can be deceiving, right?" Wolff questioned the older stallion.
He shook his head, sending his long mane flying wildly and disturbing his forlock. "Where are we going?" Wolff asked, nudging the large stallion.
