Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
It was early morning and he couldn't help but wonder why people would come out here so early just to go surfboarding. The sun had started to show through the horizen and it's heat warmed his skin and the sand soft beneath his feet as he walked. Everything was peaceful on the beach, the only noises were the waves and occasional shout out from the boarders. The only thing that he wore were a pair of pants, his shoes held in his hand. Halfway across the beach already, heading towards the forest on one side of it, he quickened his pace to a jog, sand spraying lightly behind him.
Tonight was a full moon, and Chex's wolf was howling to be let loose. tonight, he'd be controlled by his Full-Moon Form and he'd ravage who knows what, if he didn't get away or lock himself up somewhere. Though, he couldn't help but wonder if his Full-Moon Form would kill a human being. Sure, he knew it'd kill animals. Afterall, human food didn't sustain that form of his. Only raw, freshly killed meat would do it for him. The thoughts of tearing open a deer flashed through his mind and Chex was revolted by the thoughts the full moon brought him. It's the way it's always been, chex, get over it already, he growled to himself in his thoughts. Just another full moon to get through. That's all. You do it every month. Which was true, but this town didn't have much of a forest or anything for the Full-Moon wolf to be satisfied with. surely, he'd wander onto the streets and kill someone.
For now, though, his true wolf form would have to do for him. Clearing the beach and racing into the forest, Chex quickly stripped off his shorts before leaping into the air, landing as a white wolf. His dark amber eyes staring into the trees. He took off, the dead leaves and sticks snappng under his paws. Chex, as a wolf, was pure white. A rarity in werewolves. It was probably due to his Varcolai heritage. But then again, his mother was a Panther Varcolai, not a wolf. It was a mystery to him and nearly everyone who had been in his town as a child.
Hours passed and by now, it was almost 9a.m. Padding back to his disposed shorts, Chex changed back to his human form and slipped them on. Still, though, his Full-Moon Form snarled and snapped inside of him, wanting to break loose, but knowing he had to wait. He pulled against his restraints, teeth gleaming white.
Chex took in a few deep breaths, calming both wolves before he made his way back to the beach. He waded through the water for a few minutes before he left the beach to go to a nearby park. open fields with kids already playing, a skate park to the corner adn a few play grounds here and there. A large tree sat in the dead middle of the area. This was the one place that chex liked about this place. The park.
Walking down the pathway through the park, Chex wondered who there was to talk to to pass the time. And hopefully forget what tonight would bring.

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
Sophie loved the water. She’d always loved water—nothing special happened to her to make her love it the way she did, but she did definitely love it. However, going to the beach right now would not be the wisest idea. She didn’t have any idea as to how the humans would take it if a wolf came padding along, splashing and playing in the water. She didn’t think it’d go over very well. Sophie had just moved here to this sleepy little town, mainly because of the beach, but she had also needed a change from her homelands. Living there for so many years was the most painful thing she’d ever done; other than falling in love, and out of heaven. Sophie sighed, flicking her tail that was multiple shades of brown. Thinking to herself, she realized it was probably too late to go to the beach anyways. Soon enough the sun would set and she’d need to get back to her new apartment and go to bed before unpacking the next morning. Exciting.
So, Sophie transformed into her bleach-blonde human form. Unlike most shape-shifters, or any kind of person who could change forms, Sophie didn’t lose clothing going back and forth between two forms. Thanks to her old Celestial heritage. Long story short, nudity was frowned upon when she had the status that she did. It was one good thing about herself, even though it was a constant reminder of who she used to be: someone important, adored by everyone, happy, content, constantly laughing with her friends. Now Sophie was just a “regular” girl with a wolf form and, to top it off, happened never to age. She’d looked this age in her human form for the past 900 years or so. Seems like a long time to most people, but Sophie thought it flew by all too quickly. Running her fingers through her hair, Sophie grabbed her bag (which she’d left hidden inside a cluster of bushes before she’d gone off and explored a bit in her wolf form) and headed home. Her apartment complex was directly across the street from the park that was in town.
Sophie liked seeing the little kids swing and play with each other, as well as drag their mothers and fathers over to those swirly things to have them turn it around, and then giggle loudly when they got off, obviously incredibly dizzy. Sophie felt sorrowful about children and families though: it was something she had never been allowed to have, and when she was so close to it, it’d been taken out of her grasp like sand slipping through fingers. It wasn’t like Sophie hadn’t expected it; she committed a Celestial taboo.
As she walked by, Sophie glanced over at the playgrounds, where mothers were rounding up their children, saying goodbye to fellow mothers, and heading home. But one thing was out of place: there was a man. Not that that was a problem. No, men weren’t necessarily problematic. It’s just that he wasn’t wearing a shirt. Shirtless men + parks = ??? Sophie frowned momentarily and looked away from him, sighing thickly. Was this town crazier than she thought? Did men usually walk around without shirts on? Not that he was fat or anything—she could deal with him not wearing shirt. Just near the playgrounds with the children? Soon enough the little boys would be walking around without shirts on and their pants halfway to the ground. Chuckling at the mental image, and knowing she was overthinking everything (as well as overreacting to one shirtless man—crazy, right?), Sophie dropped her gaze to the pavement in front of her feet and continued on her way.
Still. Shirtless men? In a park? Maybe her apartment complex had a stranger view than she’d originally thought. She’d have to close the blinds when she got home. She didn’t necessarily like people. She was awkward with conversations and very shy. Damn, Sophie thought too much. Ah well, solitude and time to think was all she needed. Right?
{ O_o Sorry… I kinda overdid it, didn’t I? My bad. DX – and btw, your post is awesome!! :D }

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
Hours passed by in a flash and Chex hadn't even realised it. That kinda happened when you start talking to random people and playing footy with the teenagers. The sun was setting and his Moon wolf was snarling and snapping, pulling against him harder. His self control was weakening and he knew, soon, he would take control of him. Would he harm a human? Like he did many years ago? He surely hoped not.
Then, the sun's light gleamed off of bleached blonde hair. Blinking, Chex turned to look at a girl who was staring straight at him. Chex looked at her foir a long moment, holding her gaze. Obviously, she found it weird for him to be shirtless. But it wasn't that weird, afterall, the park was just across from the beach, so obviously, there would be plenty of shirtless guys. Didn't she realised that? She looked away a few moments later and Chex cocked his hed to the side.
The sun was gone now, as was everyone else. The moon was rising and Chex's Full-Moon Wolf growled and then a howl escaped his maw from inside him. Chex hunched over, breathing deep, trying to keep the wolf back. No. Not yet. Not now, whilst people could see him. Chex stood there, hands on knees, breathing deep, to try and calm the wolf down. It wasn't working very well. Chex stood up straight, taking one more deep breath, looked at the girl and then turned and bolted off. His jaw was shifting already and his nails growing longer and stronger. Damn it. No!
Shoving through the trees, Chex ripped off his shorts and ran further. The pain was almost unbearable. but he had to go deeper. Further away. Deeper. Safety for the people.
Once he was a distance he was comfortable, he let the Full-Moon Wolf take over. White-hot pain ripped through him before he was a wolf which stood on its hind legs, twice the size of Chex's human form. A howl ripped from his maw and he crouched on the ground, growling, nose sniffing the air wildly for something to eat. The scent of some animal came to him and he ran after the smell. A cow. A cow which had escaped from a nearby farm. Pouncing on it, Chex's Moon Wolf ripped into its throat and then started to eat, his white fur staining with blood.
Bright amber eyes looked around whilst he ate. They weren't a deep amber like his human and true wolf form.

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
He wasn’t like the other people. Of course he looked enough like the others, but upon meeting his gaze she could tell there was something more to him than met the eye. However, Sophie didn’t really intend on finding out why he seemed different, so she continued on her way. Not more than ten steps away from him, she heard a howl. Sophie turned around slowly, only to see him tear out of the park.
Okay, really? Had she moved to the wrong place? But now she was curious. She didn’t hear another wolf howl—she swore she heard him howl. The young, bleach-haired woman turned and jogged back to the place she’d come from and hid her bag once more. She wanted to find out if what she had first suspected of him was correct. Sophie jumped up, landing on two furred forelegs when she came down. Swishing her tail, Sophie darted across the street, following a scent she guessed belonged to the strange male. Sophie was momentarily distracted by the sand beneath her paws and the salty scent of the ocean, but she quickly regained proper focus and headed off into a small “forest.”
Almost instantly, Sophie lost track of the male amidst all the new smells for her to pick up in. Sophie explored for ten or fifteen minutes before the pungent yet sweet odor of freshly killed meat reached her nose. Sophie turned her head and trotted towards the smell. However, when she got there, what she saw was nothing like what she’d expected to see. Large and white, bigger than any human male, furred, like a wolf, tearing into a carcass with scary ferocity. But sure enough, he had the same (or relatively the same) scent as the one she’d been tracking. So, he wasn’t normal after all. How had he gone on in this town without being found out?
Despite her nagging curiosity, Sophie was smart enough to know that, with a ferocity like his, it was dangerous to be anywhere near him. Hoping he hadn’t caught her scent, Sophie began to trot back to the beach. She’d go for a little wade and then head home to grab her bag and start unpacking. Everything would go smoothly! Of course it would—there wasn’t any other way it could go, right? She’d come in and out, and didn’t plan on bothering the vicious male at all. No harm no foul.

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
Inside the Full-Moon Wolf, Chex couldn't help but be revolted as it tore into the carcess like it was a happy meal. Sure, even his True Wolf needed fresh meat from time to time, but the way the Moon Wolf ate sickened him. He put his large clawed hands on either side of the dead cow and took another bite, tearing into it like the savage beast he was in this form. His sensitive ears picked on some movement coming his way. Heavy, yet nimble. His ears twitched in agitation as he continued to tear into the animal. By now, it was almost gone.
Then a scent came to his nose. Lifting his head, he sniffed the air and then turned to see a brown wolf the moment she was turning around. A growl rumbled in his chest as he watched his leave with raging eyes. The Moon Wolf was a beast full of rage and hate, kept inside of Chex throughout the years. It harnessed it and used it when it came out. When he had been a child, he didn't have much rage, or hate, so this form was safe. It didn't want to harm anything. Now, though, it was a different story.
His massive claws dug into whatever was left of the carcess, before another howl escaped his maw. Anger and hatred radiating through it. Inside the Moon Wolf, Chex's human form and True Wolf form were fighting against the beast, trying to calm it down. It stayed where it was for about half hour, just staring at where the fae had gone, Chex and the True Wolf fighting to keep it there. However, they couldn't keep it any longer. Their holds broke and the beast lunged forward, racing to where the fae had gone, following her scent.
Soon enough, the wolf came into view, on the beach. The beast stopped at the edge of the treeline and cocked his head to the side, watching her as she waded through the water. She was the only one there. No one else was out at this time. The moon was high in the sky now, already midnight.
The beast snapped his jaws. Not enough time. In only a few hours, the sun would rise and he'd be forced to stay put inside Chex for another month. He raced forward, towards where the fae was walking. He lunged forward, tackling her to the ground and pinning her there. He stared down at her, his white maw and teeth bloodied as he growled down at her, upper lip pulled back in a snarl. The beast wanted to kill her right then and there. But Chex's curiousity got the better of the beast and all he coul do was hold her down and stare.
All he wanted to do was tear into the fae's fur and flesh. Was that so hard to ask? To kill. To get rid of this hatred and anger inside of him.

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
The water was cool and it felt good against her fur. The moon made the water droplets that clung to her fur shimmer in the night, enhancing the beauty that she had once held as a Celestial… her old Ten no Inu form. However, when she was near the water, what she used to be and what she could be now if she hadn’t fallen in love didn’t faze her. She was content swimming around in the shallows of the salty water, bounding around here and there, landing lithely in the water as not to make too much noise. Sophie smiled a wolfish grin before wading to the very top of the water, where the ocean’s water only came up to her ankles. Sophie flicked her tail and pricked up her ears, looking at the nighttime surroundings. It really was beautiful on the beach at night—on any beach it was wonderful. She enjoyed solitude, and being at the beach at night without anyone else there was the perfect time for her to be completely content.
Suddenly, the peace was shattered. Sophie’s head snapped around when she heard something behind her, and she’d just folded in her hind legs to propel her forward when she was pinned down. She let out an anguished yelp, and flinched when she felt the heavy weight upon her. Opening her eyes (which she’d closed when she’d fallen), Sophie’s heart skipped a beat when she saw who it was: it was that blasted, vicious male she’d seen in the forest! Purely out of fear, Sophie’s wolf form flickered for a split second to the bleach-blonde girl, but she kept her composure and attempted to bite at the wolf.
Sophie stopped suddenly and looked up, eyes narrowing. Why wasn’t he hurting her? Why wasn’t she dead? Didn’t this bloodthirsty monster pin her down simply so he could end her life? She’d seen the way he’d eaten. She knew she wasn’t going to be lucky—or have any chance of being saved—if this man decided that he wanted to kill her. Would he eat her, though? What kind of sick monster would do that? Him, she supposed, thinking back to how he was ravaging that cow carcass. It really was rather disgusting. Despite being a wolf, Sophie still had manners. Again, it dated back to the time where she was a Celestial form. Being banished from heaven didn’t mean she didn’t keep some attributes of her Ten no Inu—after all, it’s impossible to get rid of the light in someone, whether they are evil or not. Everyone has a bit of light inside them, no matter how deeply buried it is.
Finally hazarding to speak, Sophie commented, “What are you waiting for?” her voice was quiet and trembling, obviously concerned about what her comment would bring upon her, what consequences. Perhaps speaking out was only going to make the beast angrier, or perhaps it would make him stop and think. She guessed it wasn’t the latter, but Sophie was uncomfortable being pinned down like this—she knew in her human form she’d get bruises where the male wolf was holding her. That mental image did not appeal to her whatsoever. Why was he making her wait? Sophie struggled under the wolf’s grip, growling through clenched teeth.

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
The girl's image flickered to something momentarily. The bleached-blonde he had seen earlier! But was it really true? His eyes could have been tricking him. No, impossible. Even if he hated to admit it, his eyes were better in the Full Moon form then both his True Wolf and human. So then, what was she? Before he coud figure it out, she tried to bite him and the beast growled at her, snapping his jaws, aiming for her throat. Chex fought for control and the beast halted, hovering over her throat before pulling back with a grunt.
The beast growled again, large clawed hands pressing against her harder. She was staring at him and the beast didn't like it. It made him feel vulnerable and exposed. However, Chex couldn't help but admire her courage and how she wasn't cowering beneath the beast. Who knows how long had passed, but soon enough, she spoke. The beast growled deeper towards her. He wanted to. He definately wanted to tear into her and reveal in the feel of her blood, but Chex was growing stronger as the moon began to sink int he sky.
She had guessed right. Her words had made the beast angrier, but it also made Chex more determined to not let him kill her, so he could figure out what exactly she was. She certainly wasn't a werewolf. They couldn't speak in their Full-Moon Forms. They couldn't go back to their human form like she did earlier, either. She was like a puzzle. And Chex was now determined to put all the pieces together. Once he could become himself, that is.
The beast growled again, fighting to break free from Chex's control. The fae struggled to escape from beneath him and the beast tightened his grip even more. The beast guessed the sun would be coming up in an hour or so. Suddenly, the beast let go of the fae and put his hands over his ears with a snarl. He stumbled backwards, away from her. Chex was overpowering the beast. With a growl like whimper, the beast turned to look at the fae one last time before he turned and took off, back into the forest.
Once in the confines of the trees, the Moon Wolf and Chex fought for dominance until they were both nearly exhausted. However, the sun peeked through the trees and the beast retreated instantly, giving up the fight and letting Chex come out in his normal body. The man stumbled to where he had pulled his shorts off, however he had only grabbed them at that moment. Exhaustion laced its way throughout his entire body. Luckily for him, nearly all the blood was gone from his face. However, Chex doubted he could make it back to his apartment without collapsing on the way.
Sitting on the ground, he leaned himself against a tree, before he allowed his True Wolf form to take over. He lay on the ground, shorts beside him, trying to stay awake, but losing that particular battle. Never had he had to fight against his Full-Moon form like that before. Well, he had once, but had lost that battle. Which resulted in the wolf killing nearly 10 people. That was just after Elizabeth died.

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
Sophie flinched when the beast went for her throat but stopped, only inches away from her throat. What was going on here? Why was the beast so conflicted within himself? Why couldn’t he just end this already? Human anatomy being different from wolf anatomy, she’d have bruises from this all the way from her shoulders to her hips. That didn’t sound pleasant. Her wolf body was already beginning to become sore, the muscles straining against the strength of the brute pinning her down to get away from him. Her reward for speaking? A growl. She would’ve expected to get her face slashed to ribbons. But again, the beast didn’t seem to be able to control himself. That was odd… she should be dead by now.
Sophie whimpered loudly when the beast’s grip grew ever stronger on her, threatening to break bones. Sophie snorted angrily and tried to decide whether she was going to try and escape again or if she was just going to stay there. Just as she’d made her mind to fight back, the beast made a strange sound and pulled back. Sophie flinched at the pain that came with his weight suddenly being gone from her. Sophie struggled to her feet, her muscles sore and her legs threatening to give way underneath her.
As soon as the wolf was out of sight, Sophie tripped over her legs, falling into the ocean, before getting up and walking home stiffly and sorely. This night hadn’t gone exactly the way she’d planned it. She changed into her human form and dug her bag out of the cluster of bushes and continued on her way to her apartment. Her trembling hands fumbled with the keys and it took a good ten minutes for her to actually get the door open. Taking the keys out of the lock, Sophie dropped her bag on the floor near the still-unpacked boxes, shut and locked the door, and headed into the bathroom. She took off her shirt and examined her sides and shoulders.
Sure enough, she already had purple bruises lining from the very top of her shoulders and down her sides, the bruises growing lighter just above her hips. No wonder she was so sore. Sophie sighed and took of the rest of her outer clothing before slipping on an oversized T-shirt that she used in place of a nightgown and slipped into bed. Groaning as her head hit the pillow, Sophie gingerly touched the bruises on her sides. The bruises themselves didn’t hurt that much yet, though she knew she’d be extremely sore for the next few days, and perhaps the next few weeks. Sophie grimaced and closed her eyes, knowing sleep wasn’t going to come easy that night.

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
Only a few hours sleep was what he got before he opened his eyes to stare at nothing. It was 10a.m. by the time he woke up and he stood up, stumbling slightly, almost forgetting he had been in his wolf form. He stretched his legs with a yawn, ears flicking, listening to the animals around him. He cahnged to his human form and slipped his shorts on with a sigh. What a hectic night it had been. He hoped that the wolf - or girl - was alright. Standing straight, he brushed himself off and wiped off whatever blood was left before he walked out of the forest.
He looked over at the beach, watching the people for a few minutes before he walked through the park. A few kids called to him, waving and laughing happily. Chex forced a smile and waved back at them before he made his way into the streets. He idly walked the streets for nearly an hour before he turned and decided to go home. His temporary home before he had to leave again when people started growing suspicious of him not changing at all. Or maybe he'll have to leave because someone sees him shifting into his True Wolf form. That, or his Full Moon Wolf could attack someone.
Running a hand over his face and through his hair, Chex groaned. He came to his apartment and opened the door. He never locked it. He didn't have anything worth stealing and he had a tendancy to lose keys alot. Stepping through the doorway, he closed the door behind him and went to the bathroom. His hair was a mess and dirt smeared his body. His shorts were torn at the sides, so he took them off and threw them in the trash before he had a shower.
Letting the steaming water hit his sore body was refreshing. After the Full Moon, Chex was always sore. That form was always so very painful and he hated it. Once he was clean, his body red from all the scrubbing, to try and rid the odor of blood from him, he turned the shower off, dried himself off and grabbed another pair of pants and put them on. Black, this time. Funny, seeing as both wolves were white. He didn't wear shirts that often. His body temperature was alot higher then the normal human's and shirts or anything like that made him feel uncomfortable and itchy. He cleaned his teeth and then went and grabbed some cash before he left the apartment. He went to McDonalds and bought a double chesseburger, fries and a small sprite. He downed the lot, threw the rubbish in the bin and left.
What to do, now?

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
By the time Sophie woke up, the bruises that littered her body had turned a nasty shade of green and purple. Grimacing at the sight of them, Sophie rolled out of bed, swinging her legs over the side of the bed and ran a hand through her hair. Not so surprisingly, her hair was matted and tangled, and she still smelled like saltwater from last night. The smell of saltwater didn’t actually bug her, but she knew some other people would take it as a sign she didn’t wash. Sophie headed into the bathroom and stripped herself of the clothing and stepped into the shower, smiling at the nice feeling of warm water.
She stayed in the shower longer than she needed to—about fifteen minutes longer, even after she’d washed her body and hair, simply to be comfortable. She was sore and it wasn’t going to be fun trying to unpack all the boxes in her newly bought apartment with the injuries she’d acquired. Sophie sighed and got dressed in a T-shirt and jeans in attempt to hide all the bruises. It worked pretty well, though just underneath the short sleeve of each shirt was rimmed with purple bruises. It would be too hot to wear a sweatshirt of any kind, so Sophie knew she was just going to have to deal with it. Hopefully people wouldn’t be staring at her shirt sleeves.
Applying the makeup she wore every day, Sophie stepped out into her apartment’s main room that was adjacent to the kitchen, and stared at the boxes with disdain. “Can’t you just unpack yourselves?” Sophie murmured, checking the labels on each of the boxes. She’d unpack the rest of her clothing first and do the furniture later.
It only took her twenty minutes to finish unpacking her clothing and hang it up. By then she was rather hungry and her fridge had not yet been stocked. Despite the fact she was going to need food sometime or another (and she knew it very well, too), Sophie was in no mood to go out. The only thing that convinced her to go eat was her growling stomach. Grabbing her keys, Sophie exited the apartment. She’d probably end up just going to a small café and getting a small scone or something with iced coffee. Still, in the back of her mind, Sophie was afraid she’d run into the man that had changed so abruptly in to that wolf. It was that man she saw—she knew his scent now.
In human form, though, she’d never be able to tell when he was coming by his scent, she’d simply have to keep an eye out for him, so she could possibly try to avoid him. She would avoid most people, actually. Head to a smaller, less crowded part of town to get something to eat and drink and head back to her apartment to unpack. Frowning, Sophie closed and locked her apartment door behind her, her hands still shaking slightly from last night’s events. She still remembered how afraid she’d been. Closing her eyes and taking in a deep, centering breath, Sophie headed out to find a café to get herself something to quench her thirst and satisfy her hunger.

Walking back towards his apartment, Chex caught a familar scent. The female from last night. He sniffed the air once to make sure and yep. It was her for sure. He cocked his head to the side and listened closely for her footsteps, trying to single them out with the help of his nose. Sure enough, he knew how far away from him she was and the general direction she was heading. He was ever so thankful his senses were about the same as his True Wolf. Not quite as good, but close. He followed her from the same distance, knowing she wouldn't be able to sense him, unless she had her wolf senses with her. He sure hoped not. She'd probably run from him now. He just wanted to apologise and explain everything.
She wasn't human, so, she'd have to understand. Right? She made her way inside a cafe and Chex stayed back and out of sight from her until she sat down with her food. Then he strolled towards the cafe, pushed open the doors and walked inside. He walked towards her table gave a sheepish grin. He didn't dare sit down though. He stood behind the chair opposite her and looked down at her. He stared at her for a moment, noticing the outline of bruises at her sleeves. Chex mentally punched himself and sighed.
"Ummm," he muttered lightly, now staring at the table, "i'm sorry about last night... I honestly didn't want to hurt you," he hadn't. But the wolf surely had. Okay, so this was going to be harder explaining it to her then he thought. He hadn't had to explain anything since Elizabeth.
He wanted to ask her to come outside, where he could explain things without human ears. But who would trust someone who had tried to kill you last night? He knew he wouldn't.
{I think i'm going to mentally kick myself.... I am so sorry for the short, crappy post >.<
And yeah, Sebby is awesome xD Grell is funny, I have to admit that. Though, I can't seem to decide whether he's a boy or girl, even to this day.... }

[ Don’t worry about it, I think it’s perfectly fine! ]
Sophie had entered the shop, ordered her food and coffee, and had sat down at a small table in the back corner of the shop. She had just sat down and taken the lid off of her coffee when she heard someone speak and she looked up. Immediately her throat clenched and she felt like she couldn’t breathe. What was he doing here?! Had he followed her?! She noticed him stared at her arms and she nearly attempted to cover her bruises, but that would look completely foolish, so instead she pretended that she hadn’t noticed. Sophie kept her eyes on her coffee, watching the steam drift up slowly in small, intertwined tendrils. When she apologized, she nearly laughed. She was about to die, thanks to him. Admittedly, she hadn’t died. But still.
“Whatever,” Sophie murmured, not touching either her food or coffee. She felt extremely uncomfortable. Not only was she shy around new people, she was socializing with a man that had nearly killed her. That wasn’t an easy thing to get over. Shaking her head slowly, Sophie looked up at him. She didn’t like his explanation, but, in all honesty, she didn’t care. If he went away and left her alone for the rest of eternity (quite literally) she would definitely be happy. She wasn’t about to move again. Hell, she hadn’t even started unpacking!
“Is there any reason you’re still here?” Sophie said quietly, though there was an obvious edge of distrust and annoyance in her voice. She was also a tad bit scared of him. She couldn’t help but associate him with the bruises that covered almost her entire torso. It wasn’t stupid to be afraid of him. Nope. She had a perfectly justifiable reason. She was happy at the moment to be able to say she was alive. At least, for now she was.
[ lol, Grell's a guy, but he tends to cross-dress. :) ]

Chex sighed once again when she said 'whatever'. Of course this wasn't going to be easy. He knew that already. Sure, she wasn't human, but it didn't seem like she knew about werewolves. Which was no help for him whatsoever. He gripped the back of the chair a little harder before relaxing. Always edgy after the full moon. No matter how long he had lived with himself, Chex had always been afraid that it might come back out the next day of the full moon to ifinish whatever it had started. He looked back at the girl for a moment, noticing how tense she was.
Obviously, you almost killed her, moron. That isn't exactly something you can forgive and forget Chex thought to himself. Then she spoke again, asking why he was still here. He shook his head slightly, his dark amber eyes shifting away from her. "I mean it. I didn't want to hurt you. Why do you think He - I stopped before killing you. I'm sorry. But please, can we talk somewhere else. I want to explain, but not with all these humans around," He said softly, trying to keep from others hearing him.
{again, sorry, dad just got back home. BRB}

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
Sophie put the lid back on her coffee slowly, simply to give her hands something to do and to keep her from having to look at him. She looked up at him and almost laughed when he spoke about the wolf she’d seen last night as if it wasn’t him. She wanted badly to tell him to fuck off and leave her alone, but Sophie was a world of contradiction, and, in this instance, her timid side kept her mouth shut. She really had nothing else to say to him except goodbye.
She raised an eyebrow when he said he “wanted to explain” somewhere where all these “humans” weren’t near. Of course. Did it get any sketchier than this? He could easily just turn on her when they were alone and finish what he started. However, it didn’t look as though he was going to give up trying to talk to her so easily. She felt like she was trapped in this situation with only one way out, and that was to follow him and improvise if need be. Drumming her fingers on the table, Sophie sighed. She didn’t even know his name and yet he wanted to talk to her in private!? She was half tempted to say ‘if I talk to you now will you leave me alone later?’ And in this case, ‘later’ meaning ‘never talk to me again.’
Sophie pushed back the chair and stood up, “Fine, but if you try anything stupid I’m going to kick you where it hurts.” Sophie picked up her coffee and small bag with a muffin in it and nodded towards the door. “Lead the way, high and mighty,” Sophie said quietly, her tone dripping with fearful sarcasm. Again. This was her world of contradiction. It’d never change, would it?

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
As she put the lid back on her coffee, Chex felt lost. He didn't want her to think he had meant to try to kill her. Though, what could he do? If she didn't want to come with him, then he'd have to leave her be. It's not like he could force her by dragging her out. That'd make her hate him even more. That, and Chex didn't like to use force. As he looked at her again, he noticed she seemed to be contemplating something and Chex cocked his head to the side, almost hopeful. Maybe she'd come afterall. Allow him to explain himself to her. Maybe she'd even forgive him.
Okay, that was a long shot that was never going to happen, but he could dream, couldn't he?
Her fingers drummed on the table and Chex flinched at the sudden noise. He hadn't expected that and his sensitive ears definately picked up on it, though. A few moments later and she stood up. Chex straightened and waited to see what she would say. Once she answered, saying she would go, Chex gave a light grin as she said she'd kick him where it hurt if he tried anything and he nodded, "done deal," he said lightly. She gathered her things and nodded to the door, speaking.
Chex nodded, ignoring her sarcasm, and walked outside and made his way to a small, abandoned park and sat on a bench. He looked up at her for a moment before looking away. "Well," he started slowly, "if you hadn't figured it out, i'm a werewolf. I have my True Wolf form, which looks just like a normal wolf, just alot bigger. then, I have the Full-Moon form. Which is the beast you saw last night. It only shows during the night of the full moon. my True Wolf form is completely me; I have complete control over it. But, my Full-Moon form I have no control over. It's a form that harnesses power from pain, anger, hate and all those other emotions. I can still see what it's doing, though.
"I saw you last night and he was going to kill you. That's all he ever does, is kill. But, when he tried to kill you, I stepped in and tried to take control of him. That's the reason he stopped when he nearly killed you. It's also the reason why he didn't kill you when you spoke. In that form, it's impossible to speak. Not that he would've anyway. It's also the reason why he ran off without killing you. The sun was going to come up soon at that point and I had gained alot more power then he could fight against." Chex said, staring at the ground the whole times, wringing his hands, nervous and frightened at the same time.
"I really am sorry that he hurt you, I was trying my hardest to try and get him to leave you alone. That's why he didn't run after you straight away, either. I really am sorry. You have to believe me... Please," Chex said, voice now nearly a whisper. "I know it's not the best explaination, but, please..."
Okay, that was a long shot that was never going to happen, but he could dream, couldn't he?

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
He smiled? Really? He smiled? Did he think she was joking? Because if he did, he was sadly mistaken. She would kick him so hard he’d be knocked all the way to Timbuktu. Ah well. He was getting what he wanted so far, right? Sophie took a sip of her coffee and followed him out. He seemed to ignore her last comment, and honestly, she didn’t really care about that. She didn’t want to talk to him period. Her fear was slowly ebbing away, but it was undoubtedly still there. Her mind was elsewhere, though. She had to get home and start unpacking boxes and she probably wouldn’t leave her apartment after a grocery shopping trip until her bruises healed. That might take a while. Of course, she could always stay in wolf form. The bruises wouldn’t show up over her fur then, and she could simply wait for them to be over. Sing by the beach at night, sleep by day. It wasn’t actually all that bad of a plan.
As soon as they reached the bench, and he sat down, she sat down beside him and took another sip of her coffee, setting the bag with the muffin in it in between the two of them as if it was going to keep him away from her. She glanced at her feet and wiggled her toes in her shoes simply because she had nothing else to do while she listened to him. Though when he started to explain, she began to connect the dots. That was the reason why the wolf hadn’t killed her! So…technically she couldn’t hold a grudge against him. Which made her angry. Now she didn’t have a justifiable reason to avoid him or get him to leave her alone. Technically, he saved her life. Not almost killed her. Though if he didn’t say that she wasn’t going to bring it up just yet.
Turning to look at him, she shrugged, “It makes sense to me, actually,” Sophie said. “I still don’t know your name though.” Sophie turned her attention to the clouds, looking up and examining each one, trying to make shapes out of them, without much success. Still, her mind was elsewhere. She tended to be this away around people—especially guys. She didn’t like hanging around guys. It made her feel more awkward and shy than she usually was. It tended to get on her nerves a lot. But what could she do about it? It was the way she was born and created.
She nearly scoffed at herself for having the insane idea for a single moment of telling him what she was—and what she used to be—but quickly got rid of the idea. He didn’t need to know anything about her. Nope. Nothing at all. “And…thanks, I guess.” Sophie didn’t specify she was thanking him for technically saving her life. She didn’t intend on telling him why she was thanking him unless he asked, anyways.
[ OMG!! D: I am so so so so so so so SOOOO sorry it took me so long! I feel bad! D: ]

Silence passed between them and Chex thought maybe she didn't believe him. Oh well. He had tried. He didnt want her to hate him, but he had tried. He couldn't do much more then that. Then she spoke, saying she understood what he meant. He turned to stare at her, unsure if he had heard or correctly. But no, she didn't look like someone who didn't believe what he had just said. Chex let out a breath of relief, which he hadn't realised he had been holding the whole time. She asked his name, but then turned to look up at the clouds.
He turned to look away, not wanting to seem rude. A few minutes later, she thanked him and he glanced across at her. "Before, you asked what my name was?" he paused for a moment before saying, "it's Chex... Also, there is absolutely nothing to thank me for. Afterall, I hadn't managed to let you escape completely unscathed," he said, glancing at the bruises before sighing in defeat. He needed to get stronger. So he could control it properly, so it wouldn't have any chance of attacking someone ever again. He should've learnt that the last time it had killed people.
Dread wracked Chex's body as he thought about the future. Losing any control he had over to beast as it ravaged a town, or a city. Someone close to him. The man shuddered in nervous fear and glanced across at the girl. "Thank you... For listening to me. I guess now, you want me to leave?" he asked her lightly before he stood up. Distance was probably safer. She'd probably feel safer away from him.
Chex had often pondered the idea of living away from any civilisation, to keep everybody safe. But he already knew, he couldn't take the lonliness. Sure, he was lonely now, but being completely alone he knew he couldn't take it. It'd tear him apart from the inside out.

Sophie nodded, “Yes, I did.” She dropped her gaze from the clouds and back to him. “I’m Sophie. My friends and family used to call me Buzz, though.” Sophie shrugged and turned her gaze away from him again, though she was listening to everything he was saying. When he explained to her why she shouldn’t be sorry, she turned and stared at him, noticing him once again staring at the bruises. He had no idea how bad the bruises were underneath. Nearly her whole torso was covered in the purple-and-green splotches. However, Sophie didn’t think he needed to know that.
Sophie looked up at him when he told her that he was thankful for her listening to him. What? Had he expected her to get up and leave in the middle of his explanation? Did he expect her to say he was a crazy bastard that didn’t deserve any of her time? Sophie knew what it was like to be rejected, and she wasn’t about to make anyone else feel rejected. The way she was rejected was worse than any other rejection any person could ever get. Being banished from heaven to hell for eternity… she had no hope of going back to where she once was. “Maken,” she murmured to herself, glancing at her feet again (they really hadn’t changed much since the last time she looked at them and, frankly, they were rather boring).
“For now, perhaps,” Sophie commented quietly, “We’ll probably see each other around. I need to unpack my things at my new apartment first, though. So I suppose I’ll see you.” Sophie got to her feet, grabbed her things, and started walking back to her apartment. No…she couldn’t hate him anymore. But she wasn’t exactly excited to get to know him at the moment. Ever step was achy, and it reminded her of what almost happened. It’s kind of hard to make friends with someone who almost killed you…but saved you at the same time. This was going to get complicated, wasn’t it?

Chex watched as she stood up and he gavea light nod as she spoke. Okay, so she didn't detest him. Good to know. As she walked off, Chex watched her for a moment to see that her movements were slow and deliberate. Did she have more bruises then he originally thought? He certainly hoped not. That'd just make him feel even worse. Chex sighed and walked in the opposite direction, walking towards nowhere in particular. What could he do? He had no friends, but he guessed he could go play footy with the boys. Nodding to himself, Chex sped into a jog, deciding to take his mind off of last night and try to have some fun.
He slowed when he came to the main park and gave a light grin. Most kids and mothers weren't here, today, but the footy boys were. Chex grinned and jogged over, "hey, guys, mind if I play?" he asked them. The boys turned to him, at first glaring, thinking it was some nerdy kid. But upon seeing it was Chex, the boys broke up in cheers and hellos, waving him over to them. The man couldn't help but laugh. Atleast some people accepted him here.
By the time he had decided to stop, it was almost 4. "Gotta go, guys. See you guys tomorrow?" Chex asked and the boys nodded eagerly. Well, atleast he had something to amuse him tomorrow. "Awesome, see you guys 'round, then," he said before he walked off, waving to them. They all waved and called back to him, grins and smiles on their faces. Grinning, Chex wondered if he might actually be welcome here. Though, he knew he'd have to leave soon enough, the time he'd spend here, he knew would be great.
Jogging into the forest, Chex stripped himself of his shorts and shifted to his wolf form. Time for a run. Racing through the trees, Chex gave a wolfy grin as the wind played through his thick, soft fur and his deep amber eyes studied his surroundings as he ran. Today wasn't so bad. All in all, it was good. If it could stay like this with every place he went to, Chex thought that maybe his life could be kinda fun.

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
[ kk, but I’ll probably be asleep by then. I’m leaving in an hour for bed. It’s 11:30 pm here. Don’t know what time it is there. ]
Sophie got back to the apartment and propped the door open with empty boxes to be taken out to the recycle place. It had been a few hours by now, and she had unpacked all but two boxes, and those two boxes were both filled to the brim with books she’d read, reread, and re-reread. There were some new books in there, too, though. She’d rolled her sleeves up as it got a bit warm in her room, but nobody was there, so she wasn’t worried about the bruises being seen. The more she moved, the more sore she got, but her body also grew used to the dull achiness, and by now she had completely forgotten about the injures she’d received from that monster the night before.
Wiping her forehead, Sophie grabbed the empty boxes and headed downstairs, tossing them in the recycling bin just outside her apartment complex. Of course, as soon as she got upstairs her body started feeling achy again. Sighing, she nudged the two remaining boxes aside with her foot and walked over to the window, pulling open the blinds that covered the large window, and looked out at the view of the park and the very start of the beach. It looked like a lovely day for a swim, but she knew she wasn’t going out anytime soon in her shape. Sophie left her door cracked slightly to let in the smell of fresh outside air, and changed into a sundress to keep herself cooler.
Walking back over to the window, she turned on her small stereo and hummed along with the music as she began to put the books on the bookshelf, attempting to avoid looking at the bruises whenever she brought her arms up to eye level. The two boxes both had about thirty books in them, and being Sophie, she tended to like to put the books in order of category, so it might take a while to sort them all out. Fortunately one box was completely sorted, though the other box was full of books she’d thrown in there simply to get out of her old home faster.
Ah well. She’d be done soon, and she could finally relax. The reward for putting her things away was enough to keep her going for now.

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
By the time Chex had enough of running and has pulled his shorts back on, the sun was setting. Sighing, he started towards his apartment, stretching his arms high above his head with a groan. What a day. What a night. but now, all Chex wanted to do was go home and pass out. He only had a few hours sleep today and he was seriously looking forward to a deep sleep, where he stayed out until the sun rose.
Stepping up towards his door, Chex glanced around the street. It was then that, across the street, he noticed someone had left their door open. Cocking his head to the side in confusion and curiousity. He gave a light shrug, glanced either side of the street and approached the door. He knocked on it exactly four times before he stood there for a moment, silence greeting him.
"Hello? Is anyone home? You left your door open," he called into the dark house. He saw no glow of lights, only the embrace of darkness. It enveloped everything, allowing nothing for a mere human to see. Luckily, though, Chex wasn't human, and his heightened senses allowed him to see everything as if it was light. It was a handy skill to have during night. Especially when it was the New Moon and everything was eerily dark.
Chex stilled himself completely, slowing his breathing to hear inside the house. Sure enough, the sound of breathing and a steady heartbeat came to his ears. Satisfied, Chex knocked again and called, "Hello?" he wasn't leaving until someone came down. He knew someone was here. Unfortuneately, he had been too preoccupied with listening that he didn't recognise the all too familar scent of the girl from earlier.

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
[ lol no worries ]
Sophie was slowly awoken by the annoying sound of knocking. The first thought that ran through her sleep-clogged mind was that there was an animal somewhere. That wasn’t possible though, was it? Sophie opened her eyes completely and realized she must’ve fallen asleep on the couch—she had a book in one hand and was still in her sundress. Suddenly catching a whiff of the fresh air from outside, she realized she must’ve left the door open. “Damn it,” Sophie murmured to herself and got up, stretching, much to the protest of her sore muscles. Next she got up and turned a light on, only to freeze when she heard a voice. Really? Really?! What was he doing here?
Sophie was too tired to care, though. She had unpacked every last box in her apartment and managed to get three-fourths of the way through her newest book—and one she hadn’t read before, either. Doggy-earing the page she was on, Sophie wrapped her arms around herself in attempt to stay warm (the night air wasn’t exactly cold, but it wasn’t warm, either). Sophie opened her door the rest of the way and looked up at Chex, sighing thickly, “What is it now?” Sophie commented tiredly, glaring up at the man who was only about an inch taller than herself.
Okay, so this was her punishment for leaving the door open. Whoops. Her bad. Wasn’t going to happen again. Not that she hated him, but Sophie had never been fond of being abruptly awoken. But then again, Sophie didn’t know many people who did like being abruptly awoken. Oh well. There was nothing she could do about it now.
[ DX omgee it’s so short I’m sorry! ]

{Don't be, i've been doing short posts >.<}
Listening, Chex heard the person's heartrate pick up slightly as they woke up. He heard shifting from a room and guessed they were getting up. Chex sighed in relief and leaned against the doorframe, waiting. Footsteps moving towards the doorway and then the door swung open. Only to reveal Sophie. Chex realed back slightly, blinking in surprise. Okay, so he had to learn to take more notice of everything. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he looked down at her as she asked what he wanted, glaring at him all the while. He couldn't help but crack a smile.
He nodded to the door and gave a light shrug, "I was just heading home and saw your door was open, is all.. Didn't want anyone breaking in or anything, now would we?" he said with a grin. "Oh, and sorry about waking you up," not that a regular human would be able to tell. But then again, they both knew that Chex was no where near a regular human being. No where near it.
A cool breeze blew by, but Chex didn't even notice it. The advantages of having your own heating system in your body. The temperature didn't really bother you. Though, he definately wouldn't suggest getting the flu or anything. Though, it was hard for a werewolf. Chex glanced down at what she was wearing and then looked back at her face. "Though, I don't think one would suggest sleeping in a sundress. Especially not with your door open, you could catch a cold. Wouldn't want that, would we?" He said lightly, giving a light smile.
"Well, That's all I really wanted to tell you. I guess i'll go now," Chex said, taking a step back.

Re: Bound By The Chains Of Immortality [R] (Shiori)
Sophie blinked once when he reeled back, wondering if she was really that scary. But somehow she found his reaction funny…cute, even. And now she was even more curious: why was he grinning at her? She crossed her arms over her chest and frowned. He really was complicated, wasn’t he? …Well, sort of, and sort of not. She barely knew him, besides the fact his other werewolf form had almost killed her and now she had a hell of a lot of bruises. At least nothing was broken. And she wasn’t dead. That was a bonus.
Sophie actually let a smile prick at the corners of her mouth when he said that, “Of course not. But it isn’t like I have many interesting things to steal in here.” Sophie opened the door a little wider and nodded behind her to the scarcely decorated room. It didn’t hold many things, but it still had that classy shine to it. Sophie liked it like that: simple yet elegant and classy. It’s true: you can have it all. All fashion styles for room décor, that is. Sophie blinked again. He sure smiled a lot, didn’t he? His smile was infectious, too, and Sophie felt like she should be smiling, too. The young woman shivered slightly and rubbed her bruised arms with her palms to try and warm up when a breeze blew by, making the bottom of her sundress ruffle in the wind.
“Err… well it was hot earlier when I was unpacking, and I sat down to read a book in it and fell asleep,” Sophie explained, shrugging her shoulders softly. “But I do suppose I should’ve thought to close the door first. I was awake, though…” Sophie sighed thickly and shook her head. She probably sounded pathetic right now, didn’t she? She couldn’t help but smile at her. “Okay…well, I guess I’ll see you around? I told you we’d meet again.” Sophie smiled and shut her door quietly, locking it and heading back to the couch, putting her doggy-eared book back onto the shelf, changed into her pajamas, turned off the lights, and climbed into bed. It had definitely been a strange day.
