Jehn smiled slightly and stepped back so she wouldn't be splashed.

Nick got out and shaked his horse half spraying water, aiming forher

Jehn squealed and jumped back, catching a few droplets of water on her pale skin. She cast a bewildered look behind her, then around Nick's body to the water. She winced, and quickly dove into the surf. She changed as soon as she was submerged in the salty ocean, and she dove down deep. Her powerful, kelp-green tail helping her reach the bottom. Her elegant fingers touched the sandy bottom, and sent a cloud of grey into the blue around her. Along her ribs, gills apeared and started to sift the water for oxygen. She bit her lip, and glared back at the surface. She was ready to swim away if he came looking for her. Trying to make it seem normal, she swam back to the surface several feet away. Her dark hair highlighted in green. She hoped he wouldn't notice. "You are a pain" She teased, her voice richer and smoother, like she was singing.

Nick looked around then saw her, he laughed at her words abd said, "Hmm well I got you in the water now." He said in a slightly taunting tone. He swam towards Jehn quickly.

Jehn grimaced as her mind whirled. Her tail and bare chest was easily visible if he got closer. "No stay!" She said, reaching hand out to make him halt. She quickly retracted the webbed fingers. Faking a cough, she shook her head. "I've got a nasty cold.." She lied, using it as an excuse to keep him back.

Nick raised his eyebrows, "That didn't change anything dismorning when we had coffee. " he said quite confused.

"I think it was from sleeping outside last night. . I uh... didn't notice it until I got home.." She told him, pulling a strand of hair from her moist, pale cheek.

"Oh sorry, well I guess I should let you get out then." Nick said and moved away for her to get out.

[Saviour]

Jehn winced, not quite sure of what she should do. "No I uh.... I think I'll just stay in the water for a little.." She said, forcing the words.

"Ok but won't that make you sicker?" Nick asked her.

[Saviour]

Jehn pursed her lips and mentally growled at him. Would he just stop? She thought, though she knew it was in his place. She sighed, and shook her head softly. "I lied.. I don't actually have a cold..." She said with a sigh and crossed her arms. "But still, stay there" She said and looked down into the crystal water. A large grouper swam beneath her, and she tensed. Her fin was designed for freshwater- she was out of her element. She wouldn't be able to return to a human form until she dried though- and that would allow Nick to see her.

"Ok." Nick said completely confused and dumbfounded.

Jehn gritted her teeth at the salty water as it nipped at her skin. Her eyes looking around Nick and to a small river that was behind him. She longed for the cool, fresh water. Her eyes sparkled slightly with the reflection of the water as she turned her gaze back to Nick. "I'm sorry, it's weird and you won't understand but please just... Stay there" She said as she moved her webbed fingers under the water. The green skin between her pale fingers laced with brown and blue. She sighed softly, feeling terrible for not telling him. She just couldn't bring herself to tell him. She knew that centaurs and unicorns were normal now, but her kind had refused to come out of hiding for fear of being murdered. They knew from ancient texts how the ancestors of humans had attacked their mer cousins, and they refused to let that happen again.

"Ok?" Nick said crocking his head, feeling absolutely dumfounded.

[Saviour]

Jehn's chest burned at his expression. "Don't look at me like that!" She snapped, her uncivilized half breaking the line that thinned when she was in her mermaid state. She took a centuring breath. "Sorry.. Just.. Don't look so confused" She said and ran a hand over the surface of the water. The folds of skin between her fingers invisible when she closed them together.

Nick jumped back slightly then nodded to her and looked away, unsure how not to look so confused. He was feeling very curious of her at the moment.

Jehn made it appear like she was breathing from the surface while her gills pumped water into the arches and her blood gripped oxygen from the salty water. She looked down, ashamed that she had snapped at him like that. She wanted to touch his arm and hug him, tell him she was sorry. She couldn't though, it would be a stupid mistake. Jehn pulled her hair that was tinted kelp green around off her shoulders and let it fall behind her. It was long, touching the small of her back, and when it was wet it was straight.

Nick staid put waiting.

[Saviour]

Jehn frowned when he stayed there. "I uh... Can you um... turn around for a moment?" She asked him, swimming around him and towards the beach.

"Okay." Nick said and slowly turned and waited.

[Saviour]

Jehn grunted and pulled herself out onto the beach, her heavy tail dragging across the rocks and sand. Her tough scales made the feeling a strangely numb sensation. She sighed and let her head fall back. Once she regained her breath, she ran her hand over her tail and eventually dried. She stood up, and tossed her now curly black hair. Her skin was the dark tan that it used to be and her she beamed a smile. "Okay, you can look now" She said, hoping he wouldn't mention the fact that she was completely dry.

Nick waited then turned when told to, "B-but your completely d-dry." He said astonished and confused.

Jehn giggled at his words, forcing the sound to seem normal. "No I'm not" She said, as though he was crazy. "See?" She said, pretending to wring out her dry, white tank top. She released it and it fell back against her figure.

"No water came out." Nick stated walking closer to her.
