The stallion's forelock fell down into his eyes. He blinked gently and blew out through his nose. It was breeding season, and he wanted desperately to find his true mate in the herd. Yes, he had had foals before, but never became a mate. King walked slowly over to the Lead Stallion, giving a warm smile towards him, but keeping silent. both of the stallions watched above from the cliff, waiting and watching for a trespasser or to scent a mare in heat.
The Lead Stallion, Frore, was a nice stallion. He was sure to split the mares with King, but King never really bred with the mares, for he was a quiet stallion. He never fully fell in love with a mare before.
Now, King stood, waiting for the perfect mare. Scenting the air once in a while. He bent his long neck down to graze and shuffled his ffet, muscles rippling under his gleaming coat. He almost looked like he was the Lead Stallion, instead of a Beta.
