Re: The World Is Different From What I Once Thought [R] (BayMickey)
Cyrus shrugged. "It's fine. As long as your safe." He looked over to Peace, eyes apologetic. Why did he have to screw up so bad? He had caused all of this for her. All he wanted was good for her, and this was the exact opposite. He then put his head down, closing his eyes and running his hand through his blonde hair. "I'm so so sorry, Peace. I did not want any of this to happen to you. I-" He cut himself off. How could he be so stupid? Why did he have to change, why did he have to let his freakish self known to her? Why couldn't have he kept his secret a secret? Everything was his fault. He should have never killed that... guy. And he should have never showed his human form to Peace. Now he had ruined her life. She could never go back home to her family, her friends. He had ruined it. Cyrus would be surprised if she didn't hate his guts right now. And now people were chasing them! Cyrus had put his mate, even though she didn't know what she was to him, in danger. His mate! He sighed loudly, looking back up at Peace. "I'm just sorry." He took a step back from her, ashamed at himself. His auburn eyes were brimmed with tears. How could have he been so fucking stupid?!

Peace looked at Cyrus as he stammered over his words, unable to voice how truly sorry he was for getting her into such trouble. She may not be overly fond of the idea of him being a werewolf and lying to her for so damn long, but seeing him like this made her feel uncomfortable. Even though she had only known him as a wolf, she knew how proud he was, so seeing him look so weak tore her up inside. She watched as his large hand raked through his blonde hair as he tried to find the right words to say to her. Her grey eyes looked away for a few moments when he cut himself off, silence stretching out between them. She wrung her hands together absentmindedly before he finally, simply apologised to her. Her gaze dragged back up to him as he stepped back, away from her and she gave a slight sigh. For some reason, seeing him like this tugged at her heart and she didn’t know why. Taking a step towards him, she reached up, hesitating before her fingers grazed his cheek, wanting him to look at her. “You didn’t cause this, Cyrus..” she said gently, surprised by her tone. She wasn’t the type to talk gently to anyone. “That village has been trying to find any sort of reason to kick me out or ‘dispose’ of me. This is not your fault, please don’t blame yourself,” she said, her hand lingering for a few moments before she brought it back to her sides, her fingers tingling with heat where they had come into contact with him.
She glanced away for a moment, her grey eyes looking down at her boots for a moment before looking back up at him. “And I don’t hate you,” she told him honestly, “upset, yes, but I do not hate you,” she looked between, seeing how close they stood and she took a small step back, creating a bit of space, heat flushing her face. “Um, sorry,” she mumbled to him, a bit embarrassed now. Maybe it was the fact that she was injured, or that he had saved her that was making her emotions peak, she didn’t know. But that what she was blaming it on.

Cyrus' gaze shot up to her eyes when she touched him, electricity surging through his body. He tried his hardest to keep it hidden, and he guessed it worked. He heard her words and nodded. He would do as she pleased, and not blame this on himself. It was only his nature. Cyrus manged to form a sloppy grin on his face when she mumbled her apology, finding it cute. He shook his head at her in a harmless way. "No apologies from you allowed," Cyrus said with a wink. He then looked around them, noticing the sun was about to go down. He narrowed his eyes, thoughts pondering his mind. Where could they go that was safe? He thought for a moment, then realized. There was cave only a mile or so west of them. No one but Cyrus knew where it was, and he knew no one could find it.
The cave was tucked away. It was actually very difficult to find, and only one with very good eyes could spot it. It once was the den of wild wolves, but when Cyrus found it, they cleared it out. No predators came near it, only prey. And various wild plants grew around it, so food wouldn't be a problem. But if Peace wasn't comfortable, it was a problem thought. He just prayed that she wouldn't mind.
"Um, there's a place I know, um, since it's getting dark, where we can stay. It's not the ideal house, but, you know..." He trailed off, scratching an imaginary itch on his back. He looked down at Peace. He would do anything to keep her safe.

Re: The World Is Different From What I Once Thought [R] (BayMickey)
When Cyrus shook his head and told her not to apologise, Peace looked up just as he winked at her and her eyes widened slightly before she looked away again. Her emotions were running on a high right now and she knew it. And hated it. Peace generally wasn’t the type to show sappy, surprised or embarrassed emotions. Running a hand through her blonde hair, Peace glanced behind her shoulder as Cyrus did and she looked at the lowering sun. Sighing, she looked back at the man as he spoke and she thought for a moment. Should she? Sure, she knew that Cyrus wouldn’t hurt her – didn’t know why she knew that, she just did – but couldn’t there be somewhere she could go? Someone that could take her in without telling the village? Maybe an outsider? Her features fell into a slight frown, not being able to think of anyone. Her gaze fell back to Cyrus, not realising she had looked away from him. Running a hand over her face, Peace gave a slow, hesitant nod. “Okay, anything is better than the chance of being caught by them,” she said slowly, cautiously. Of course she was slightly hesitant to leave her village. She had lived there her whole life… And yet when she thought of all the hatred and violence projected directly at her, Peace’s resolve steeled and she straightened her back slightly and met his gaze squarely, “okay, let’s go,” she said with a slight smile, if not just to comfort Cyrus’ thoughts about taking her somewhere he thought wasn’t good for her.
She knew that Cyrus had some sort of feelings towards her, a sort of protectiveness, but she did not think of that as what he thought of what he really felt. She thought it was just the instincts of his wolf.. Like possibly considering her a part of his pack or something, so feeling the need to protect his subordinate. Even though that thought kind of ticked her off. She didn’t want to be someone he thought lower than himself. She was an equal to him. Sighing, Peace steadied her emotions and took a deep breath to calm herself.

Cyrus nodded. He then stiffened, finding his weakness in this situation. What was he thinking? This was not fair to Peace. She had no idea how this mate thing worked, as to Cyrus' dismay. And she probably didn't want any part in it. He had to stop with all the mushy'gushy, and act like a man. Or a wolf. Either one worked. But, Peace probably was so confused. Here he was, acting a fool, and she had no idea! She had just figured out he was a werewolf, after all! Oh, the things that could be going through her head. And Cyrus was totally acting like a normal human being. But that's exactly what eh wasn't. Normal. He had never been, and never would be. He turned back to look at Peace, unaware that even though he could act normal, his eyes gave every single drop of emotion away.
Those soft, round amber eyes. The only thing, surely, that let Peace know it was actually him. The only thing, besides the hair color maybe, that never changed with his form. The only thing that always stayed the same. His eyes were probably the only normal thing in this situation.
Cyrus then spoke, "You see, this cave is about a mile away. it's fine if you wanna walk there, I'm cool with that, but it would be much quicker if I ran, um..."
[ i know its too short, but my computer freaked out when i had my original post... sorry! ]

Re: The World Is Different From What I Once Thought [R] (BayMickey)
Peace’s eyes narrowed slightly as she watched the man before her. He was obviously lost in thought, his gaze slightly glazed with that far-off look many get when they are concentrating on their thoughts. She studied him as he looked away, trying to figure out his thoughts. Her head cocked to the side for a moment, a couple minutes of tense silence passing between them, but she barely even noticed. She could tell something was wrong. Some kind of war inside his mind, and it frustrated her that she didn’t know what it was. Sighing, she rocked back on her heels when Cyrus looked back at her and she could see the raw emotions dancing in his deep amber eyes like a flame. Her grey gaze looked with his for moment before she looked away, turning around. His eyes. Even as a human, they didn’t change. They were still the same gorgeous amber eyes she often stared into when he a wolf. So many times she had gotten lost in their endless amber depths. His eyes were gorgeous, and yet Peace’s were just grey. Like on a stormy day when a thunderstorm threatened and loomed overhead. Closing her eyes for a moment, becoming accustomed once again to Cyrus’ presence around her. Even if he was human, his aura was the same as it was when he was a wolf. Maybe not so feral and primal, and the same either way.
Looking at Cyrus again as he spoke, not quite catching his meaning at first. But it slowly sank in and she quickly turned away from him, her mind racing. Should she let him carry her again? It made her feel useless, vulnerable, like she can’t do anything by herself. However, she knew that getting shelter was the first priority, and being a mile away, the villagers wouldn’t find her. Atleast not for a while. They’d go back soon and search again tomorrow. And being injured, it wasn’t like she could travel very fast, anyway. Unlike Cyrus. Dammit. Why did he have to be a werewolf? What a way to make her feel inferior to him. Grumbling under her breath for a moment, Peace finally straightened herself and turned back to him. “Alright, go on” she said in defeat, sighing to herself as she gestured for him to hurry up. She looked away as he picked her up and despite her reluctance, her wrapped her arms around his neck, not overly wanting to go flying whilst he was running. She tensed when their skin met and even se couldn't deny that she felt a sort of electricity racing through her skin where it met his. Atleast to herself. She'd strongly deny it if anyone else asked her.

Re: The World Is Different From What I Once Thought [R] (BayMickey)
Shock utterly filled Cyrus' body when they touched. If this happened every time they made contact, it would drive him crazy. But it would be a good kinf crazy, if that made sense.
Cyrus didn't waste time. He took off, wrapping his burly arms around Peace, keeping her secure. He ran as fast as he could. The sun was falling fast behind them, and he wanted to get to shelter before it was completely dark. His feet moved underneath him in an ungodly motion, blurring to the naked eye. He hope Peace was comfortable, but couldn't be worried with such minor things. The main thing was safety, and they were close to it.
Cyrus brought his pace down slower, and then finally stopped. There they were, at the cave. He sat Peace back on her feet, making sure she was steady before he fully let go of the girl. He jerked his head towards the entrance and walked to it. He didn't go in yet, but instead pulled out a lighter from his pocket. He flicked the contraption on and it gave some light, but not much. Cyrus would have to trust his senses to navigate. He then stepped into the darkness. The cave had always been a little spooky. The only sound that you could hear was the repetitive drips of water from the ceiling. Also, the thought of wolves once inhabiting it was a creepy to a human, but this was Cyrus. While he walked, he constantly looked back at Peace, making sure she was okay.

Re: The World Is Different From What I Once Thought [R] (BayMickey)
Squeezing her eyes shut as he ran, Peace leaned her head against his chest, trying to take steadying breaths, but it didn’t seem to work too well. Within a minute or so, she felt Cyrus slow to a walk before he stopped. Opening her eyes, she glanced up at him before he placed her on the ground. She stayed still for a few moments until she had her balance back before she stepped back with Cyrus let her go. She looked at the cave when the man moved towards it and she watched him, unsure. Her hand reached up to grab her shoulder as she looked around. It was eerily quiet around here, expect for the sound of water dripping inside the cave. Looking into the tree line to see if she could see anything, Peace couldn’t help but jump when Cyrus lit the lighter. She spun around to stare at him, wide eyed before she realised what it was and she took a deep breath, cursing herself in her mind before being a moron. Watching as he vanished into the cave, only the flicker of a small flame gave his position away. Glancing around quickly, Peace tensed at a rustle in the bush. She glanced back momentarily but no other sound reached her ears.
Tensing, Peace quickly rushed into the cave slowing as she came to walk right behind Cyrus. She glanced back out of the cave and shuddered slightly. She was rattled, that was why she was so jumpy. Tomorrow, once she had rested and had calmed down, she wouldn’t be so on edge. Groaning quietly at herself, Peace leaned to the side slightly, to look around Cyrus, but she couldn’t see into the darkness. Shrugging slightly, she straightened and looked up at him. She didn’t even reach his shoulders. She felt so small standing so near to him, but she didn’t overly want to wait outside and be ambushed by some creature. Even though Cyrus had betrayed her trust, he was still the same person.. Err, well, Wolf. And whenever she was around him, she felt safe, like nothing else could harm her.
