Walking In Memphis

Heavy hooves hit the ground with a thump. Wolves yipped under his feet, no longer breathing after he had landed on them. The rest of the wild dogs ran away after seeing the death of their brother. Memphis walked in the opposite direction, away from the wolves, and towards the Garden. Th smells or roses and violets filled his nose, along with the smells of other horses. He ignored it, mostly hidden forcers and mares that lived to get bred. Memphis bent his heavy head down to the ground, picking up some grass between his teeth, chewing and swallowing. The big Clydesdale didn't really do anything special with his life. No mare had ever wanted him, not even his mother. Anyway, he was hopeful he would find that one mare at the garden. The one he would love for the rest of his life.

A slender being curved around the lengthy trees that lined the garden. Vivian carried herself gracefully around the edge of the opening, debating on whether or not to spark up a conversation. She inhaled deeply, and with that, began to trot towards the semi-center of the garden and grazed. She kept her eyes focused on all around her, slightly narrowed, almost in an intimidating way. She noticed a stud with large hooves and a muscular body. Her eyes then drifted back to the grass she was nibbling on.

Walking In Memphis

Memphis heard hooves other than his own, and picked up his big head to see who it was. A mare. What would he say?When? Now? Or should he just keep eating? Memphis shook all the awkward thoughts from his mind. He woulld just be himself. "Why, hello there. May I ask whose fortunate presence I'm in?" Memphis had a smirk on his face.

Vivian raised her head swiftly, her eyes hovering over the stud from before. Hearing his words, she squinted her eyes and snickered. Her ears lied lazily to the side as she began to speak. "The name's Vivian. Call me Viv," she informed and nodded before continuing, "And you are?" Her tail flickered from left to right as she awaited a response.

Memphis smiled at the mare. "I welcome you, Viv. My formal name is Walking In Memphis, but you may call me simply Memphis." His deep rang throughout the small clearing, echoing against the trees. Memphis benmt his head to the side to nip at a itching spot on his pelt. "It truly is a pleasure."
