Castien, in a last attempt to heal Kulukath, transfered her energy back into his body, sides heaving, exuasted. Her energy alone alowed her to stay in the dragon form, while returning all of Kulukath's magic back into her body, but she fell into unconciousness, her bloodied red sides rising and falling with each slow breath she took.

(She's still in dragon form, and has multiple puncture wounds with arrows)

Kulukath, feeling a sudden pang of energy, sat bolt-upright, taking in a huge heave of air. He frowned and shook his head, looking over to the huge red dragon. He recognized it immediately. "Castien!" he cried, jumping to his feet. He immediately rushed over to her and tended to her wounds as best as he could. He healed her with his own powers, patting her large scaled neck. "Castien, try not to go out on me, please!" Kulukath hoped she'd killed Shadowhaph, but he didn't know. All he cared about now was getting her healed.

Castien felt something nudging at her side, before a powerful pain made her head bolt up, snapping into conciousness and shaking her massive head, seething with pain, a harsh hissing emitting from her throat. She forced herself back into her human form, lying on the ground, her dress torn over the stomach, scars from the arrows marking her skin. Heaving as she tried to breath, her lips parted, face pale and white,eyes wild and wide. She glanced over to the figure that was kneeling beside her, and watched Kulukath tiredly, trying to comprehend what had happened, before she pushed herself upwards,wrapping her arms around his bare shoulders.
"Your alive!"

Kulukath frowned when she turned back into her humanoid form. The damage looked even worse then. But when she threw her arms around him, he didn't hesitate to hug her back. He shook his head slightly and kept her in his arms. "I'm sorry I wasn't there sooner. I...I tried. I was trying. I swear. Shadowhaph... He's so bent on getting the Windfyre from you..." Kulukath stopped and drew back. "Shadowhaph! Is he dead? Did you kill him?"

A single tear of relief slipped down Castien's cheek, and Kulukath pulled back after a few seconds, looking her squarly in the eyes. Castien gave a nod, her eyes concerned. "I, I think so, I heard a crack, I-" She shook her head, stumbling over her words. "I think so." She finally uttered, looking away, her eyes troubled.

Kulukath nodded hesitantly, feeling her breath warm on his cheeks. For a split second, an idea came to his mind. And before he knew it, he pulled Castien in gently, placing his lips delicately on hers. He didn't know exactly what he was doing, to be honest. It was just his instincts taking over, he assumed. But it felt right, and he suddenly got this feeling of dread, and he hoped she wouldn't reject him completely.

Castien watched with her large, brown eyes as he nodded, not sure what to expect. Relief, happiness, a sense of peace? Perhaps he hadn't wanted Shadowhaph to be dead? Perhaps he hadn't wanted her to strike him in the first place? Perhaps- Perh a p s...
Her thoughts floated away into a mist, as soon as she was pulled forward. She didn't know what he was doing, but before she knew it, he had pressed his lips very gently over her own, and she shot out of reality, lost in the feeling, not knowing what it was.

Kulukath stayed there a moment, trapped in the feeling of it all. He'd never felt this before, and it felt right. It gave him a sense of security. After a moment's worth of the pleasurable, intoxicating, and new feeling, Kulukath pulled back, very slowly, looking up into her eyes for either a rejection or some other kind of unspoken answer. The daunting prospect that he'd done something he wasn't supposed to do loomed over him. And if he had done something wrong, he didn't want her to be mad at him. He didn't know what he'd been doing. He just followed what his instincts were telling him was right. And right now, his instincts were telling him to kiss her again, but he refrained from it. He didn't want to scare her away if she didn't like it.

Castien finally broke back into reality as he pulled away, opening her eyes, that she hadn't known she had closed in the first place. Blinking once, her long lashes batted together, large dark eyes wide and uncertain, confused, but happy. She closed her parted lips, her hair blowing gently over her forhead, the breeze playing with the long golden strands.
Unsure of what to say, do, or act, she shook her head, looking away, her lips tingling slightly.

Kulukath smiled bashfully and pulled away completely from her. He didn't know whether to apologize or just to kiss her again, or whether he should be ashamed of himself and go smash his head against a rock (not that he would ever actually do that; his dignity was better than that). He turned to her, grinning hopelessly and said in a failed attempt to start conversation, "Well, hopefully Shadowhaph is dead. We won't have to deal with him anymore. And even if he isn't, I'll be there for you next time. I won't let him get as far as he did this time." Kulukath became serious at the end, dropping his gaze to the ground around his feet.

As Kulukath smiled, looking shy and bashful, Castien met his own smile with a crooked grin of her own, before pulling away and putting some distance between them, if only to sort out what had just happened. She didn't want anything to progress before she had gotten to relive the past moment, even another kiss.
Not knowing if what had happened had been a good thing, or a bad thing, she blushed faintly, and listened to Kulukath's voice, noting for the first time how soothing it was, when she listened intently. It was low and soft, and he was speaking gently to her. "I hope I killed him. I'm going to kill myself if I didn't, and he somehow survives."

Kulukath shook his head, "Nah, that won't be neccessary. If he's not dead I'll kick his ass next time. He'll be sorry he messed with us." Catching himself on the word 'us' he commented, "Er, me. Wait, you." Kulukath blushed furiously and shook his head. "Us." He turned his head and smiled at her, hoping to reignite something. His mind was still reeling, and the moment before seemed to happen so quickly and disappear so quickly he began to wonder if he'd just imagined things. And even if he hadn't, it had created an awkward barrier between them. And honestly, that was the last thing he'd wanted to do. He inwardly punched himself for being too pushy on her. Kissing her without her consent! What the hell had gotten into him?

"Us, er, You, Me, Us." Castien en toned, making her voice deep and growly, and puffing out her chest. She imitated him with a bit of exaggeration, and grinned as she finished, before pulling her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them.
"Thank you Kulukath." She whispered quietly, her eyes staring straight into his, meeting his look with a steady gaze of her own, that was sincere.

Kulukath laughed a little bit when she immitated him. "Do I really sound like that?" he commented playfully.
When she stared at him with all the sincerity in the world, he stopped for a moment, smile fading, but not in a bad way. He didn't know what she was thinking him for, exactly. "Why are you thanking me? I should be thanking you. You saved my hide back there. I owe ya one."

"No," Castien shook her head solomly. She wasn't in the mood to play around, it wasn't the time. Not yet anyway. "I was on the table... They had a knife.." A shudder of horror and discust raced up her spine, and she grimaced painfully.
"I dont know what they were trying to do- And I dont want to know how they were going to do it." She looked away, face taught and sincere, before pursing her lips.
"But now it's all over."

Kulukath frowned at her, moving closer to her and wrapping her in a hug that wasn't meant for intimate pleasure, but simply for comfort. "I'm sorry, Castien. I should've been there.... Shadowhaph caught me off guard. It wasn't your fault. I won't let it happen again." Cursing himself thoroughly on the inside, Kulukath let go of her and cupped his face in his hands. "I'm so sorry, Castien. You'd be safer if you went your own way." Kulukath shook his head dejectedly.

"I'm fine, really." Castien protested as he wrapped her in a hug, but she didn't really mind it. It wasn't bad, having someone you could trust and depend on, instead of relying on yourself to do everything. She wrapped her arms around his chest, and gently rested her head on his bare shoulder, just enjoying the warmth and comfort of someone actually caring about her.
Kulukath let her go, and inwardly she grimaced, as she realized she had wanted him to kiss her again, but she shrugged and looked away. "It wasn't your fault, and if you dont stop talking about it, I'm going to kick your ass."

Kulukath thought it was nice to have her head on his shoulder. It made him feel appreciated for his other side, not the nasty demonic shapeshifter that had so many issues. He realized now that she made him feel wanted. A feeling he hadn't had in forever. When she made the rather robust comment, he laughed and said, "Well, ain't somebody just a bit cocky, eh?" Kulukath was tempted to kiss her again, but instead he just pulled her over to him in a playful manner, giving her a noogie[sp lol].

Castien smiled gently and pulled away, seperating them once again, though not as far as the last time. She still wasn't sure what was exactly going on, and if she was comfortable with it, but she didn't really have much choice in the matter.
Her feelings were speaking louder than her practical side, but for once, that didn't really feel bad. "I bet I could.... But only if you went easy on me."

Kulukath laughed at her. "Easy on you?" Kulukath grew serious once more, as he continued, "You have so much potential, Castien. I really, really, really hate to admit it, but when your Windfyre abilities mature, you'll be even stronger than I am." Kulukath shrugged and turned his head to her. "It's all in here." he pointed to his brain. "Dueling isn't going to help you as much as practice and control is. I can teach you everything you need to know, but in the end, it's you who chooses."

Castien frowned, not liking the new prospect. Sure, perhaps it was intracate and she was freaking lucky, but she didn't like that she had the power to defeat Kulukath herself. It almost frightened her, seeing how much he had. Shaking her head, she refused to admit to it and dropped the subject, hoping that they wouldn't have to speak about it for a little while longer.
Before she knew it, she had automaticly scooted closer to Kulukath, and turned her head in the other direction, slightly embarrased, and afraid that he was going to say something crude and perhaps push her away.

Kulukath let her reject it, knowing she'd come to accept it when the time was right. It always worked like that.
When she moved closer, Kulukath turned his head towards her, his emotions clashing dramatically. Part of him wanted to kiss her again, and the other part of him simply wanted to wrap his arm around her and hold her closely. One was rather extreme, in his mind, and the other more safe. One was definately more prominant in his mind, while the other one was just a way to avoid possibly being rejected or creating an awkward moment afterwards. After a moment's thought, he commented, "Would you like something?" His voice was definately a tease, but he was halfway being serious.

Castien lightly felt Kulukath straighten, but stop, and she inwardly wondered what he was thinking. To bad she didn't have mind reading powers, and the thought hit him that maybe he did, but she shook her head, pushing the thought away. He couldn't have, no way. Convincing herself that she had the privacy of her own mind, she slowly turned her head, then realized their faces were unusually close. She felt his warm breath on her neck slightly, and she shivered lightly, looking up at him, rather cockily as he asked her a question.
"Uhm.... what?"

Kulukath stared at her, his own thoughts about what she was thinking slowly seeping into her own mind. Her thoughts slightly disturbed him, her thinking that he could read minds and all, and he immediately withdrew, sorry for intruding on her personal space. He still hadn't quite mastered when he read minds or not. But now he knew enough, and he looked at her, gently moving her chin closer to his with his index finger. In a rather husky voice, he repeated, "I said, did you want something?"

A small smile played on her lips, and she didn't pull away as she felt his finger slip under her chin, drawing the two of them even closer together, without them actually touching. She felt his warm breath as he spoke on her lips, and looked him dead in the eye, her chocolate eyes wide and strangely happy and secure.
Tilting her head to one side, she smiled softly. "Maybe."
