After the Fire (Mature...please rp)

(Ok I would really like to do this one, bt I want at lest two paragraphs as the intro and at lest one paragraph per reply. I know that sounds like a lot but it's really not once you get going, this will be mature and I would really like someone thats going to give me something to work with. You would be playing Tyler..I could change the name if you want....Please don't let this scare you away! (: Thanks LoveOnHerArms <3 )



Sitting at her desk Addie was eating her lunch and doing some paper work that she didn't get to finish at home because of well…because her husband decided to kidnap her from her desk at home and took her to a drive through movie. She smiled a little and finish out the paper work, her cell phone started ringing, with a groan she dug into her purse looking for it and finely found it "Hello?" she rushed out hoping they didn't hang up."Mis James?" "Yes, Can I help you?" She put down her pen and looked at her desk,"Your husbands been in a accident and you need to come to the hospital right away" Hearing that Addie's blood froze, the phone almost fell out of her hand Ryan's been hurt? In a fire? Or with something else? Hello? Mis James? Snapping out of it she shook her head "Right Im on my way now" With that she clicked the phone shut,grabbed her stuff in a scramble, she didn't have time to explain where she was going to someone or her boss. Running down the hall her mind raced on what happened and prayed that Ryan was going to be ok, skipping the elevator she took the stairs not going as fast as she would have liked but the gray pencil skirt she was waring wasn't meant for running down stairs, that and the heels she had on weren't helping. Addie managed to get the heels off going down the stairs and didn't fall flat on her face, opening the door she raced down the lobby,heels and purse in one hand while digging into her purse for car keys. Pressing the button she unlocked the car and slid into the seat,started the car and peeled out.


Addie didn't quiet remember getting to the hospital, one minuet she was pulling out of the parking lot next she was parking her car and hurrying into the hospital, going to the main desk and demanding to know where her husband was then suddenly she was in a room with her husband laying in a bed machines surrounding him with tubs going in and out of him. "Ryan?" she asked in a small voice moving to his side, he was barley recognizable, his once handsome tanned face now badly burned with one eye swollen shut "Hey baby" he said weakly with a weak smile to match it,holding back the tears that stung the back on her eyes Addie gently took his hand in hers looking down at him "Hi" putting on a brave smile she looked down at him. "I messed up, the house was unstable but Ty and I went in to check for survives" He gave a hoarse weak chuckle that didn't sound right "There wasn't anyone in that dammed house but us, on our way out the frame collapsed and wouldn't you know, it fell down on us" He looked up at her with the grin that made her weak in the knees, "It took the guys a little while to get the fire out and get us out. Baby Im going to die" He said it in such a calm tone. A few tears rolled down her cheek "No, don't say that. Your going to be fine, the doctors with fix you right up" "Addie theres nothing they can do for me, I've already talked to the Doctors, Im dying" She shook her head "No! you can't die!" He gently squeezed her hand "Shhh you'll be alright, your strong" shaking her head tears fell "No Im not, I need you…you can't leave me" she whispered out the last words sniffling. He leaned up and gently with one hand caressed her cheek "Shh you'll be ok, promise me something baby" He looked her in the eyes, "Promise me you'll move on and not live your life alone" Nodding as the numbness started coming over her. Addie didn't leave his room until Ryan died.



Shaking her head Addie bit her bottom lip leaning over the sink "Stop thinking about it" she snapped at herself and straightened up, Ryan died almost three months ago. She quite her job for a little while,they promised she could have it back when she wanted to come back, but she couldn't go to work not yet, she was taking care of Tyler Ryan's best friend. He needed someone to watch him after the hospital released him, with the broken ribs and burns and various other injures he had. Tucking dark brown hair behind her ear she walked into the living room and curled up into Ryan's recliner and looked at the tv blankly, Ty was asleep and the twenty four year old felt numb.

"You're crazy" I said to Ryan. The flames coming from the house almost uncomfortable from our ten feet distance. He shook his head and walked deliberately forward. With a shake of my head, I follow him. Beads of sweat already growing on my forhead against the licking flames. He busted open the door and lifted into a near jog. "I'll get the upstairs, you check down there!" My friend's familiar voice played over the cracking and popping. I nod briskly and hurriedly step into the living room. Their large tv and expensive furniture blackened and a bit of it still burned. No one was in there of course. Next I checked the 'office', if that's what it was. Opening the door, I wince and pull my hand back. The palm numb from being burned on the hot metal. Damnit, even four year olds knew not to do that. But the door swung open anyway, and I barely caught view of the empty room before the blinding fire caught on the door. I stumble back and let my dark brown eyes turn to the kitchen. Hidden away in a different corner of the house. Farthest from the front door. Just as I caught sight of the, of course, empty utility room, Ryan called out. I agreed, we needed to get out. Stepping back, I nod "Alright come on. Back door though, it seems more stable." And it must've been, because the front collapsed. Nearly hitting Ryan. His words were slurred when he reached me and we reach for the door. A loud crack, and we both look up in time to see a ton of stablizing beams and drywall collapsing onto us. Before I could tell what was happening, we were both on the floor. Ryan had an iron pipe on his shin and thigh. Obviously a broken wrist, and a beam on his neck and chest. His face already turning a sickening purple. I wince and try to move. Only to find a searing pain rip through my chest and it made it harder to breathe. I cough, but it hurts like Hell and I don't manage a single breath. Sucking in hard I managed some oxygen. The pain all too much. I lift my neck with all the strength I had left. A large wooden board was on my chest, and I couldn't see my legs under the white dry wall. I furrow my brows and let my head fall back. Struggling. My breath finally became more rythmic, but it didn't help. And everything was soon blackened.



I gasp roughly and flick my eyes over. Only to find a large, bulky yellow and red suited man lifting the beam from my chest. I wince and hold back a scream in pain. Finding several more focusing on Ryan. "Is" I pause, trying hard to focus and make out words. "Is he" I swallow hard "Going to be alright?" The man didn't answer, but instead grabbed my shoulders and pulled me from the rubble. This time I couldn't hold back my cry of pain. The flames and heat had lessened, but it was still uncomfortably hot and the smoke choked me. He lifted me onto a stretcher seconds before I lost conciousness again..
A crisp, pressed white jacketed woman stepped into the cool room. Her hair pulled neatly back into an updo. I had to admit, she was pretty good looking. She checked the machine beside me and wrote on her thick clipboard. "Ryan, is he, alright?" My words were slow and forced. "Sir, you need to rest" She said sternly, and when I went to grab her sleeve, she forced my hand down. I was so weak, it felt as though I wasn't in my own body. The beeping of the machine getting increasingly annoying. I grit my teeth and breath deeply. It was no longer difficult to breathe, but I couldn't rest until I knew Ryan was alright. "Get back in here!" I yell. My deep voice rattling slightly in the damaged nerves of my vocal cords. No one came. I sigh and turn my head back to the ceiling. When I heard the door open. A sorrowful and pale face of Addie brought me to the same position. "No" I say sharply, shaking my head and clenching my fists. "That should be me. Not him"

~~Three Months Later~~

Nightmaric memories brought me to a sweat and heavy, strained breathing. Waking up coughing and to the returning pain of my healing wounds. Not only my physical wounds, but the memory of my friend. "Addie" I say. My voice was quiet and rough. Forced through a dry throat. "Can I have some water?" I force myself to turn my head over to her. She was still absent-minded looking, still mourning. I hated that she had to be taking care of me. She had to take care of herself, not some pathetic and weak man.

Curling up in the chair staring blankly at the tv Addie just felt numb inside, it was like she wasn't really alive anymore just living in a nightmare, every night when she crawled into a empty bed she wished she could just wake up from the nightmare and find Ryan beside her in the bed the next morning, but she never did. The first week she cried every time she woke up finding Ryan not there, the only thing that was keeping her going was the fact that Tyler needed someone to look after him. Sniffling softly she squeezed her eyes closed and bit down hard on her bottom lip, Don't you dare start crying right now Addie James... She snapped at herself. Snapping out of it when Ty's voice cut through the silents, his voice sounded quiet and rough. "Yeah sure" Getting to her feet she forced a weak smile to her lips, though her eyes still looked dull and walked into the kitchen.

Coming back with a glass of water and his meds she handed them to him and smiled weakly "Feeling any better?" She asked tucking hair behind her ear. "Oh any how dose pizza sound for dinner?" She asked remembering they had to eat, if Ty wasn't hearing she probably would barley be eating.

I frown at her tear-glazed eyes. Pulling myself painfully into a sitting position when she comes back. "Same as before" I say, nodding my thanks and taking the cup and meds. There were four, one orange, two white, and one extra large antibiotic. I swallow them all at once to make it easier and set the water on the table beside me. "Thanks Addie" I say, forcing a small smile and leaning against the corner of the couch. Whispering a sigh. I was so exhausted all the time, and I felt as though I'd rather die than sit around all day in a heap of pain and being so broken you couldn't even move a toe without feeling pain. If it wasn't for my worry of Allie and her future, I'd have given up already. I guess we were both helping each other in our own way. Soon a refreshing numbness grew in my chest and legs, the two white pills for pain already helping. Taking a normal breath in the lack of pain, I look over at Addie I gather the courage to ask. "When do you plan to go back to work?" I ask quietly.

Nodding she curled back up in the recliner watching him, she knew he hated being stuck on the couch or in bed all day, but he was getting better. Looking back at the tv she curled up more and started chewing on her bottom lip watching some reality show. Addie had no clue what was going on with the show and the volume was down making the shrill voices of the girls barley come out as they pranced around in bikinis on a beach with a couple guys, rolling her eyes she sighed softly.
Hearing Ty's question she deflated and shrugged her shoulders brokenly "I-I don't know. I can't leave you here alone and......" Addie trailed off looking at him . How was she going to tell him she was scared to go back to work? That Ryan was the one thing that made her stronger, work harder and over all made hr who she was today. Everyone said it was the girl that changed the guy so much but for Addie Ryan helped her become stronger more out going and alive, with out him she was nothing.

I look over at the tv blankly. Slightly discouraged by her answer. "And what? I can take care of myself, they let us borrow a wheelchair...." I said gently. Not wanting to upset her in case there happened to be another reason she wasn't going yet. I roll my neck. Slightly sore from laying around all day. I ached to get back to the gym or something. I couldn't stand this. I knew some people found me overwhelming, but I always kept busy. It was sorta my thing. Before the accident, I spent my free time in the gym at my house, or played football with the neighbor and his teenage kid. I wondered how they were. What if they moved? The idea upset me. What if I lost everyone? Allie, she wouldn't be the same for a while. Ryan was gone. I pause there to hold myself together. And what if all my friends sort of... forgot about me while I recovered?!

Sighing Addie looked over at him playing with her wedding right and shook her head seeing the discouragement in his eyes "Oh no Ty, I know you can take care of yourself, but right now your healing and Im not going to leave you alone all day." She said gently and curled up more in the chair watching him, she could practically see him itching to go hit the gym or do something, she knew he thrived on staying busy and it was killing him to be stuck in a house all day long. Thankful that the topic has changed she looked over at him "Tell you what? Tomorrow we'll go to the park or something so you don't start climbing the walls, deal?" She asked trying to cheer both them up and smiled weakly. Looking over at the time Addie sighed and got to her feet "Take out or pizza?" She asked not feeling like cooking but then again in the last couple months has she ever felt like cooking or heck even getting out of bed?

I frown at her words. Knowing she still wasn't getting over the event that happened three months ago. "Thanks, but you don't have to" I say, rolling a ring around my finger out of boredom. My father had given it too me before he died, it was his. I didn't know why I got over things so easily. Sometimes it made people angry, said I was cold. But it just didn't bother me much. I loved, I mourned, and I got over it. But I knew that wasn't the typical case. "whichever you want, I'm not all that hungry anyway" I say. Watching the amethyst catch the light every time it crossed the top of my finger. Then disappearing when it went under it. The shrill, girly screams from the tv drowned behind my thoughts, even though they weren't very meaningful.

Letting out a huff Addie got to her feet and grabbed the phone off it's cradle "If I have to eat then so do you, besides you have to eat from all the pain killers your on" She said with a little bit in it and called the the take out place she loved. Ty had been getting on her about her not eating the last couple months, but she just didn't feel like eating. After she called, Addie walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water and sighed looking at the pictures on the frig, most of them were pictures of Ryan, Ty and herself when they all went to the lake last summer. Letting out a shaky sigh she grabbed her glass and walked back out, setting her glass on the coffee table before curling up in the recliner "Remember when we all went down to the lake last summer?" She asked softly glancing over at him with a faint smile on her lips.

I sigh softly at her words, then look back at the tv when she walks out. The bikini's and swimsuits, including toned bodies, brought jealousy to rise. She ordered, of course, something I liked and I heard the clinking of glass. Then the running of water. But then I heard nothing. A frown pulled softly at my mouth before I shifted positions. Grunting at the hard work of simply that and the pain of it. Annoyed, I reach over and grab the wheelchair. Using my fists to push myself off the couch and into the chair. I tried to be as silent as possible. Her next words made me remember all the fun. "Yes, and when Ryan decided to create a poorly designed rope to swing on. And I of course had to be the one that tried it out" I smile playfully, trying to hide both the physical and pyscological[sp?] pain.

Looking over at him Addie bit down on her bottom lip seeing the pain go across Ty's face as he pulled himself into the wheelchair, she wanted to help him badly to ease the pain that was clearly on his face but she also knew he wanted to do it himself....men. Smiling a little more she nodded "Yeah I remember that, you fell on your back and Ryan almost fell over laughing. You boys almost killed each other that day in the lake" A fare away look came in her eyes with a bitter smile on her lips, if only they could go back in time and relive that week. Letting out a shaky breath Addie looked over at Tyler tears burning the back of her eyes, she bit down hard on her bottom lip trying to stubbornly refuse to cry in front of Ty and looked away curling up tighter in the chair.

I chuckle stiffly and sigh as I relaxed into the seat. Letting my head fall back into the leather fabric. "Yea, I miss that" I say, words cold in the refusal to show weakness. I pull the wheels to turn around and face her. "Addie, please, let's not think about that anymore. It's hard, I know. God do I know, but we need to move on somehow. And sitting around all day won't help." I say. Drowning out all the background noises surrounding us.

Curled up in the chair biting down on her bottom lip she squeezed her eyes closed to hide the tear. She could feel Ty looking at her and slowly opened one eye looking at him trying not to burst out crying. He said he knew it was hard but they had to move on, swallowing down a sob she looked at him "Wh-what am I supposed to do with out him Ty?" She whispered hoarsely looking at him on the brink of bursting into tears.

(It's alright...my brain died a while ago.)

Her glazed eyes mad me even more sad. Seeing this beautiful, strong woman so broken was terrifying. I push the wheels closer to her and take her hand in mine in a friendly manner. "He's still with you" I said. Knowing the line seemed fake and over-used but I didn't care. She deserved more than a life like this, and it nearly made me mad that Ryan had been so careless.

Struggling to keep the tears and sobs down Addie looked at him swallowing hard and sniffling. He took her hand and said he was still with her, that had to be one of the most over used cheesiest lines ever used in the history of lines. And that also broke her down, a sob escaped her lips as she doubled over her free hand hugging her stomach the other one squeezing Tyler's hand. " I-I don't know what to do with out him Ty" She managed to get out as she cried, her shoulders shaking. Dark brown hair fell into her eyes, she felt so numb and broken with out Ryan here.

Her tears tore me down inside. I squeeze her hand gently back, trying to keep from getting a little misty eyed as well. "I know, Addie, but it'll be ok" I say softly, nearly drowning in her cries.

Crying Addie looked up at him and sniffled, she wanted to ask how but for some reason his words helped a little. Ty was Ryan's best friend and he understood what she was going through suddenly she didn't feel so alone anymore. Sniffling she gave a small nod trying to stop crying and wiped her eyes with her free hand, still gripping his other hand. Slowly the sobs stopped and she hiccuped sniffling and rubbing her eyes. A knock on the door made Addie look up and sniffled getting to her feet she walked to the door wiping her eyes and putting on a smile. Opening the door she smiled at the pizza guy paid him and took the boxes, closing the door with her foot she looked over at Tyler with a small smile " Pizza's here, i'll plate you up some" Walking into the kitchen she set them on the counter and grabbed plates, putting two slices on each she walked back into the living room and handed him his plate before sitting back down in the recliner and looking down at her with a face. Pizza didn't sound good at all but she had to eat.

I nod "That's better" I say and squeeze her hand softly as she quit crying. The rapping at the door made me jump, then wince at the pain of the contraction. She stood up and answered the door. "Alright" I respond to her offer and wheel myself into the kitchen. Stopping at the table and grabbing a couple glasses from their places, I move to the fridge and pour us both a cup of sweet tea. I place them back on the table in their spots and lift myself into a chair. "Thanks" I say to Addie

Setting the plates on the table Addie watched him get the glasses fill them with sweet tea and then wheel to the table, she wanted to help but Tyler liked doing it by himself, so chewing on her bottom lip she watched him lift himself into a chair. "Uh huh your welcome" She gave a small smile and looked down at her pizza with a face, pizza didn't sound good at all. Letting out a breath she forced herself to take a bit and swallow it washing it down with the tea. "So how about we go to the park later? or tomorrow?" They both needed to get out of the house and the fresh air out do them good or so Addie though. forcing herself to eat a slice she sighed finishing it and shoving the plate away with the second slice untouched. " Im done"

I wheeled myself to the table and pull my plate closer to me so it would be easier to eat. Picking up a warm slice, I take a large bite out of it and swallow. I cooled my mouth off with a drink of the sweet tea and then wiped my hands. "Sounds good to me" I say quietly, then take another bite. It was hard to seem strong all the time. I missed him alot, but I wouldn't dare act like it hurt or made me any less of a character around Addie. He[ forgot his name X.x ] would've wanted me to help Addie along, and to help her return to a semi-normal life. I clear my throat in the silence and lean back in the uncomfortable wheelchair. I absently rest my eyes on the TV to try to remove my mind from the constant thought of never getting to see my best friend again, Ever.
