Gilraen recoiled from the beast's touch, glaring at it angrily. She wasn't about to thank it, either. Her eyes widened when she heard what the beast said. Unintentionally, she squeezed Caldrion's hand even tighter. Soon her fear turned into anger. "I will not do anything for you or any ally that you may be lucky enough to have. I would die first." Gilraen stated boldly, meaning her words one-hundred percent.

The beast laughed again. "Well if thats the case!" He leaned over her, fangs dripping. But he recoiled as he thought better of it. "You didnt answer my question, What do you want with us?" I feel Gilraen squeeze my hand. I grip hers tightly. The beast looked at me with its red eyes. "You will see in due time. Like I said before, the elf race is wearing thin, thier powers are depleated. It is up to us to regain that magic, weather or not you like it or not." He says. I sigh.

Gilraen flinched when she a drop of poison landed right beside her, slightly skimming her cheek. She muttered under her breath. Gilraen turned her head to look at Caldrion. Knowing that the beast would most likely not kill either of them, helped her fear ebb away. She sighed when she heard his answer, although she was still semi-confused. "What, exactly, are you going to have us do?" Gilraen turned her head so she could look at the beast's ugly face again.

I also wondered, but had a good idea. "Did you kill the other Elves?" I ask him pointidly. He snickered. "No, they ran away. I didnt have to kill them." I again thought about what he had us here for. "Why do you think we are the most powerful?"

Gilraen suddenly wondered where Diona was. Gilraen and Diona had been fast friends ever since they were little, even though Diona had grown rather... distant...in their elder lives. Sighing, Gilraen pondered what the beast was going to make us do. Some of her ideas were proposterous, while others could be considered and eliminated logically. Ignoring that, Gilraen cursed when she heard the other elves 'ran away.' Gilraen nodded her head at Caldrion's question, quite curious as to the answer.

He didnt answer, just hissed, annoyed. "Enough questionss-" He stated, then left the clearing, the vines growing thicker and stronger around us. I gasped slightly as the vines sqeezed my lungs. I gripped Gilraens hand tightly. "I think they want to... want to maybe- breed us?" I say, blushing. That had certanly sounded like it.

Gilraen nodded and whispered back to him, "At least it's not you and some other elf..." The prospect still horrified her. Were they going to force her to bear child? Just to save her race? If it was done under different circumstances, Gilraen would've gladly accepted the responsibility, but this only scared her. She spoke a small enchantment on Caldrion's vines, to let him breath with ease. "When are they going to make us.... you know....?" Gilraen asked, her eyes looking back to him.

Able to breath again, I speak. "I dont know even if they are. It was just a guess. But I dont know if I am really one of the most powerful elves-" I help her out by shrivling a few vines that gripped her torso.

Gilraen smiled at him and gripped his hand. "It's all right, Caldrion. I wouldn't be surprised if you were." Gilraen looked at the beast angrily and dared to ask him another question, "Well, are we just going to lay here and suffocate or what?" Gilraen kept her fingers laced in between Caldrion's, fear rising up in her throat and nearly choking her.

The beast kept walking, leaving us alone in the clearing. "I guess so." I say pointitly. The fawn wriggles, getting annoyed with being pinned down. I speak a few elven words, and the fawn falls aleep quietly. I looked at Gilraen. "What are you going to do?" I ask her, not really knowing about what I was asking her about.

Gilraen sighed and turned her head to look at him and spoke a few enchantments, and the vines withered. They were weak enough now that she could tear them off. She sat up, her back cracking. Gilraen sighed and did the same for Caldrion's vines, tearning them off of him and the fawn, placing the fawn gently beside him. Without giving him time to get up, Gilraen laid down beside him, her head resting on his chest. "What are we supposed to do now, Caldrion? I don't know what it wants."

She rests her head on my chest. I stroke her hair, knowing that if we tried to get away, it would mean death. "I mean, what if they would make us... you know. What would you do?" I ask, as the fawn stands up and streches, but stayes directly at my side. I looked closer at the fawn, and pull it into my lap.

Gilraen shuddered slightly at the thought. "What could I do, Caldrion? If I tried to prevent the baby from being born, they would probably make us do it again, or possibly more severe punishment." She clutched his shirt gently. "I don't see a way out." Gilraen bit her lip hard to keep back tears, causing blood to stream from her lip. The coppery taste wasn't welcoming to her, and she nearly gagged on it, but managed not to by gripping Caldrion's shirt tighter. For the first time in her entire life, she hadn't a clue what to do.

I quickly wipe the blood away. "Dont hurt yourself." I say, and sit next to her. I shake my head. I didnt know either. We werent animals. They couldnt make us do that, could they? But I thought about the dripping fangs and paralizing skin, and I wince. I didnt want to experience punishment by them. I was sure that they would probobly make me impregnant other females also, and I shuddered, thinking about the betrayal that would cause.

Gilraen looked at him with solomn eyes and whispered, "Maybe....maybe we shoulder just do it. Just... just to get it over with." Gilraen looked down at her fingers and fidled with her thumbs. She didn't want to. She knew she didn't want to. She wouldn't ever want to. The prospect of baring a child because of what some monster was an awful idea. Gilraen leaned on his shoulder. "We should." it came out merely as a squeak and she shivered. What would they do to her once it was finshed? What would they do to Caldrion once it was finished? Deep inside her, curiosity exploded, but she knew that she didn't want to know.

I shake my head. "No. I wont ever do it." I say, with confidence. Maybe in the future, yes. But not if a monster was making me. Making me betray the only love I had ever had, making me betray myself. I wouldn't do it. Even if he torchered me I wouldnt do it. I was sure that Gilraen didnt want to either, and there was no way I was going to go against her will. The fawn suddenly sits up and looks into my eyes. What are you going to do? I jump as I hear a whispery voice in my head.

Gilraen smiled weakly and stared up at Caldrion, "Thank you," she murmured and Gilraen looked around, but saw no signs of the beast. "What should we do know? Try and escape?" Gilraen kept her voice low in case the beast was anywhere nearby. She notcied when Caldrion jumped and tilted her head curiously, placing one of her smaller hands on top of his. "What's wrong?" She asked, staring up at him with concern.

I stare at the fawn. What are you going to do!? I hear again, sounding a bit annoyed. I sent a thought message. Can you talk? I hear a sigh. No, you are imagining. Yes, I can talk, but only to you. Does that answer your question?

Gilraen tapped on Caldrion's shoulder. "Caldrion...?" Seeing as he was preoccupied with something about the fawn, Gilraen got up and slowly slunk away, scanning the tree line, looking for any signs of the beast. She climbed up into a tree and looked around, hoping the beast's sense of smell wasn't highly refined. Or its sense of vision, for that matter. Gilraen swung from one tree to another, stopping on one and looking back at Caldrion and the fawn.

Gilraen swung down from the tree and sighed, staring at Caldrion while he stared at the fawn, seemingly engaged in a hidden conversation. "Caldrion," She said, her voice cutting through the silence. "I don't think the beast is anywhere nearby. We need to get out of here while we can, now snap out of it!" Gilraen patted his cheek gently, hoping to get his attention.

I jumped. "Its a smart alec!" I say, and hop to my feet. The fawn rolls its eyes. "Stop it. Ok, where to go?" I ask. Not that it matters. the fawn piped in. I hoisted her in my arms.

Gilraen looked at him, a concerned look on her face. "Caldrion, be serious. We have to get out of here." With silent, lithe movements, Gilraen stepped to the edge of the small glade they were in and hid behind a tree, looking around it. She put a finger on her lips to hush him and beckoned him with a wave of her hand. She slowly crept into the dark forest beyond.

I sighed and followed, giving the fawn a look. Instead of following her, I crept the other way, giving her a signal. The only sound I heard in the forest was my own breathing. There was no wind, no nothing. Not even a whisper of a breeze. I look at Gilraen. Something was wrong. Something was very wrong. My skin tingled as I felt something.

Gilraen watched Caldrion, not noticing his feeling of unease. Something was blocking her senses, and she couldn't see as far as she usually could, nor could she hear as well. That's when she knew something was wrong. Something shot from the darkness of the forest, pinning her shoulder down to a tree. There was a strange burning sensation in her shoulder and she bit her tongue to surpress a scream. Gilraen yanked it out and saw her blood turn black as it trickled down her shoulder. Ignoring it, Gilraen slunk over to where Caldrion was and whispered, "We need to move quickly." Her head began pounding and her vision was blurring. Maybe she was losing more blood than she thought...? She didn't care. She would not be forced to bare child. She was going to get away NOW.
