As she pushes my grasp away, I follow her, and let my magic uncover whatever was lurking in the shadows. Not to my surprise, I saw it at last. A gross creature, much like the one I had slain in the woods. I gasped and pulled Gilraen back, knowing that magic wouldnt work on the beast. Its red eyes looked at us, and it laughed, a horrible, deep screaming sound.

The scream from the creature was loud enough and contained enough magical power that it caused Gilraen to clamp her hands over her ears and her body spasmed a moment, leaving her momentarily paralized on the ground. Once she'd gained her senses, she tried to cast a magical barrier around herself and Caldiron, only to find her magical abilities had been numbed. Somehow, the creature's scream had affected her magical abilities, and she prayed it wasn't the same for Caldrion. She stepped closer to the beast, taking in the scent of its poison that dripped from its maw and landed on the ground, burning a hole in it. "We can't fight it, Caldrion." Gilraen realized, eyes widening.

[Spritz]

It laughed and hissed, its horrible snakelike tounge snaking in and out of its horrid mouth. "Nooo. Youuu Cannnt" He dragged out the words, rasping them. I shuddered, and my magic failed to help me. "I am sssmarter than you tthink!" He gasped, his body heaving.

Gilraen backed up slightly, remembering what the poison did to the skin of elves and humans alike. She nearly stumbled and fell, then snarled angrily. "What are you doing here in the first place? Why don't you get your filthy hide back into the forest where it belongs?" Gilraen snapped, stepping forward angrily. She was beginning to wonder if it was this creature that had destroyed her house, instead of boy-crazy girls.

[Spritz]

I pull her back. "No!" I hiss sharply.

It laughed again. "Hshshshs" With a sharp crack, its tail had wrapped around us, pinning us together. He then spread his monsterous wings, and took off, us in tow. I tried to move, but just touching him had paralized me.

Gilraen screamed loudly and tried to wriggle herself free, but slowly, her limbs were becoming numb and unusable. "Caldrion!" Gilraen whined and tried to wrap her arms around him. She was scared and as she tried to move, she found herself unable. "I'm scared, Caldrion," Gilraen whispered, wondering what was going to happen to the both of them.

[Spritz]

I tried to reasure her, but my whole body was frozen, paralized. The creature flew us over hills and vallies. The fawn was still in my arms, also frozen. I hoped the dragon creature wouldnt eat her. In fact, I prayed he wouldnt eat any of us.

Gilraen closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. Suddenly, she was finding it hard to breathe. She tried to struggle but found herself unable. She managed to let a scream pass through her lips, "Put me down!" She tried to take in another breath,but found it hard to breathe. Gilraen shuddered and sucked in another shallow breath. "Caldrion... i can't.... breathe..."

[Spritz]

I managed a few weak sparks of magic, keeping all of us alive and breathing. The thing looked back at me, loostened his tail, dropping us into his claws, grabbing us by our clothes. The fawn managed a startled squeek then fell silent again as the thing growled at her, thinking about dinner.

Gilraen took in a deep breath, then looked at Caldrion, feeling the paralasis wear off slowly. Gilraen managed to lay her head on Caldrion's shoulder and draw in a shaky breath, wondering what was going to happen to them. "Are we going to be safe, Caldrion?" She whispered, her voice shaking and writhing with fear.

[Spritz]

"I will die before anything happens to you." I say, fully intending to carry out those words. I see the forest flying by as we go faster and faster, the wind blowing our hair. I was so tired, even though the thing didnt seem any the worse for wear. It flew higher, bat wings pumping hard and fast, speeding us toward a volcano. A smoking volcano.

Gilraen smiled and kissed his cheek gently, feeling her limbs begin to work again. She looked ahead of them as the volcano came into view. Gilraen cursed under her breath quietly and shivered subtly, wondering what the beast was planning on doing with them, considering they were heading towards a giant smoking volcano. Were they going to be some kind of sacrafice? "Caldrion are we going to die?" She asked.

[Spritz]

I dont say anything, not knowing what was going to be done to us. We reach the volcano, but the beast keeps going, not even looking twice at the smoking cavern. I shudder as I see magma and lava bubbling and steaming deep in the hole. "Whats happining!?" I demend, looking at the beast in its tiny red eyes.

[Guest]

Gilraen let out a deep breath when she realized that the beast wasn't going to drop them in the volcano. But not hearing Caldrion's reply scared her. She clenched her eyes tightly, hoping that this was all just an awful, awful nightmare, and she'd wake up in bed with Caldrion by her side and he would tell her everything was going to be all right. A tear trickled down Gilraen's cheek. She was planning on spending her future with Caldrion, and it seemed as if all her dreams had been stopped short. Now they might not even have a chance to see the next dawn. Caldrion's shout at the beast snapped her out of her pity-party and she looked at the beast warily.

[Spritz]

The beast grips us tighter, then swoops down lower to the trees, our legs hanging down and touching the top branches. I reached and took Gilreans hand in mine, lightly rubbing it, sending the last of my magic into her. She needed it more than I would ever. I loved her and would die before she got hurt, so the magic would help her.

Gilraen felt the magic slowly seep into her skin, but immediately blocked it and looked at Caldrion, wiping the tears from her cheeks, "Keep it." She whispered. "I'm not the only one in danger here. I won't let you give up the necessary means you need to survive. Don't leave me now, Caldrion. That magic may be the only thing keeping you alive." Gilraen kissed him gently and rested her head on his shoulder, wishing they were somewhere else, as fresh tears dotted down her cheek and made the shirt fabric on his shoulder damp.

[Spritz]

I was about to protest, when my pant leg snagged on a brach and ripped, holding us back a bit. The beast yanked my free, for some reason not wanting me to be left behind. If he was hungry, he would have eaten us already. I look at Gilraen, a single wet tear leaking out of my eye. I couldnt bear to loose her. Never. I force magic into her, leaving only a bit for myself. It would come back with time.

Gilraen frowned and felt the rush of magic enter her. She lifted her head, not even bothering to wipe the tears from her face this time. "I told you not to," she whispered angrily, looking at him. He looked weak, and she didn't like to seem him like this. She longed to be back at her house, sleeping peacefully with him by her side. Gilraen sighed and shook her head. "When are we going to get there?" She asked, just loud enough for the beast to her hear.

[Spritz]

"I had to." I say, and wipe the stray tears from her cheeks, my hand lingering as my skin tingled at the touch. I wanted to be back home, on the beach or with her alone, kissing and holding her, but there was no time for that now. I sighed as the beast moves on, ignoring her question. Its huge bat-like wings beat hard, causing our hair to whip wildly about our heads.

Gilraen turned her head at the contact of his hand on her cheeks. "But I told you not to. You didn't need to do that. I'm not the only one that's in danger here, Caldrion. If something were to happen to you..." Gilraen stopped and bit her lip, holding back a fresh wave of tears. "I don't know what I'd do. But I certainly wouldn't let myself keep on living if I was forced to live without you." Gilraen looked up at him and dropped her gaze after a few moments. She couldn't bear to look at him anymore. Something inside her was telling her that they may not make it through this experience, and Gilraen couldn't live knowing every time she looked at him could be the last time she ever looked at him. Gilraen sighed again and struggled against the beast's grip, trying to get free. After an attempt to no avail, she turned to Caldrion and whispered, "I'm trying to be strong for you, Caldrion. But it isn't working." She sighed and rested her forehead on his shoulder.

[Spritz]

The beast suddenly screamed and swooped into a clearing, wings stirring up dead leaves and sticks. He dropped us on the ground, then suddenly thick black vines grew out of the ground, winding around our ankles, and pinning me to the ground in a rush. Within seconds, the fawn and me were strapped back onto the grass, covored in thick vines.

Gilraen landed on a rock on her shoulder, and she let out an unintentional yelp. She managed to say a spell just in time, so the thick vines stoped growing once they reached her hips. Gilraen watched the vines climb up over Caldrion and the fawn. Gilraen reached over, and tried to tug on the vines, speaking several magical enchantmments to try and lift the vines, but to no prevail. Gilraen struggled against her own bonds, but only managed in nearly severing one of her legs. Accidentally, Gilraen twisted her shoulder in the wrong direction, and she cried out in agony, grasping her shoulder, facing away from Caldrion. She didn't like the prospect of Caldrion seeing her in pain.

[Spritz]

The beast leans over me, mouth agape and thousands of showing. I glare at it. "What do you want?" I ask it, and snake my arm out, and take hold od Gilraens hand, gripping it tightly. It laughs. "You are the two most powerful elves in all time!"

Gilraen gripped his hand tightly and stared at the beast. She listened to his answer and then stayed silent a few moments, completely awestruck. She shook her head and then asked the beast, "What would you want with us, you good for nothing maggot?!" Gilraen said angrily and tried to shift, but there was a loud crack that sounded from her shoulder and she cringed, clenching her teeth.

[Spritz]

The beast strode up to her and poked her arm. It imedietly healed. "You good for nothing maggots are going to be, used, lets just say." He said, an evil glint in his already evil eyes. I suck in a breath. "What do you mean!"
