[Artemis Sinfeather]

The world seems grey without your smile,
Won't you stay?
Just for a little while?
The words played on her lips, She had long been walking, no destination, no beginning. Nothing. Everything was a smeared crimson blur as she galloped away from her life. The haziness still fogged her vision as she rested her head against a lone tree trunk, red leaves scattered at her hooves. Memories all too familiar to teary amethyst eyes.
Once more, she began to sing, hoping, wishing, praying that she wasn't lost and alone in her ache and torment any longer;
Lost in the haze,
Lost in a lonely daze,
Rescue me,
Hear my voice eternally.
Sweet embrace,
Scars to face.
I sing our song,
While I wait, for the night to come.

Scorpion-

I grazed in the meadow that was just a few meters from the great redwood forest. My armor was painted bold and poisonous colors of yellow and black. I chuckled and threw my head, causing the metal plates to scrape together and creating a noise that few could stand. My body was large and bulky, but did not frighten most aquaintances. I had heavy chains crossing over my armor, and most would mistake me for a warrior for humans. I was anything but. My belonging was a clan of demons, controlling fire, but not evil. We were just as any other group of horses, only stronger. I stayed with my clan for a long while until a group, consisting of my enemy Sub-Zero, destroyed my family, my clan, and my home. Thinking of it brought back anger and sorrow. I shake my head and wonder if my future would always be lonely...

[Artemis Sinfeather]

Venom like a viper,
Poison like scorpion,
They dont understand you,
You're a lost soul too,
Escape with me,
Fear and loss just drift away,

Melody of Torment,
Mel-o-dy of Tor-ment...
The song continued as I raised my head and began walking away from the lone tree, my words swirled through the leaves, taking some with the wind as it blew away my song. I followed the wind carefully, it guided me through the bracken. I came to a halt before a dying tree, in its trunk was a carving, a treble cleft. I rested my head on the carving, whispering to the dying tree as I stood there, lost in my weary thoughts.

Scorpion-
I froze, somewhere, someone had spoken my name. I rear up and whinny, the sound ear-splitting and mystical. I snorted. Whomever it was, they would need to be sure they did not use it in a bad way. I pricked my ears forward, waiting for a reply.

I closed my eyes and hummed softly, the words gormed on my lips but I spoke not a word. I carefully moved away from the tree and bucked, so I was standing on my hind legs, facing the tree. I carved a crescent moon behind the treble cleft and began to sing as I did so;
Essence of fire,
Raging desire,
Burns to your core,
What do you fight for?
Your world is crumbling down,
But your tears do not flow.
Your soul, is born through a raging fire,
Core deep, hatred, flowing desire,
Venom lacing through your veins
Inflicting, conflicting pain,
Is it the world you wish to dye crimson?
Little scorpion,
Laced with poison,
Call the venom, viper,
Let her siphon your darkness from you,

Venom Viper, caught you in her fang.
Viper caught scorpion,
Vi-per caught the Sc-orp-ion..
I held the last note as I shook away small wood chips from my hoof, placing it back on the ground beside my other foreleg, the last lyric of my song replayed in my head, making me shiver.

Scorpion-
I heard my name again, and snorted, calling out again. I told the speaker of my name to come to me, and face Scorpion himself. Little did I know, the speaker was a small mare, innocently singing the lyrics to a song... a song that I would soon find familiar...

[Artemis Sinfeather]

I flicked my ears and carefully listened to the call of a nearby stallion, I replied with a gentle whinny and another few lyrics of the song;
Little scorpion,
Delicately dancing poison,
Who do you cry to?
Venom Viper, calls back to you,
Venom Viper glistening in the moonlit garden,
Little scorpion, why did you call Venom Viper?
Viper caught Scorpion.
I cleared my throat quietly as I walked slowly through the bracken eyeing a stallion wearing full body armor, standing alert with his ears perked.

Scorpion-
I tensed at the lyrics.
They could mean one of two things, and both weren't very good. I cleared my throat and shook my head. I then caught a glimpse of the speaker, a small mare, black, with a treble clef and cresent symbol on her right shoulder. I shook my body, causing hte metal plates to sing. "Why do you speak my name" I asked her, my voice deep, gruff, yet caressing. I waited for her response.

[Artemis Sinfeather]

I stopped moving and side-stepped into view," It is your name? It is a lullaby." I said with slight confusion lacing into my silk voice, I watched the armor plates on his back, hiding my intrigue. I shook my mane slightly and watched him with a soft and innocent gaze, the lyrics to my lullaby swirled in my mind, Viper caught Scorpion in her fang. What would that mean? I mentally wondered as I scanned over the lullaby in my head, seeing nothing, I shook the troubling thoughts from my mind and concentrated on the peculiar stallion before me.

Scorpion-
I watched her curiously "My mother used to sing that samee lullaby to me" I said, then felt anger bubble up inside of me. I forced it down and clenched my jaw.
"How did you learn it?" I asked of her again, my curiousity matching my anger as I thought back to that night..

[Artemis Sinfeather]

" My mother sung it to me when I was just a foal." I replied, catching the slight anger that was manufested in his tone," It means much for by kin." I added with a calm voice, this stallions' frustratioms was the last thing I required as of now, I was the last of my Siren tribe and that lullaby was all I had left of my kin.

[Guest]

Scorpion-
I nodded "Very well, let us stay at peace with that" I said and lowered my head to the ground, ripping out a few blades of juicy grass. "Who is the leader of your kin, might I ask?" I said, my voice rid of the anger I held before, she did not belong to the tribe of the murderers who killed my mother.

[Artemis Sinfeather]

I felt a pang in my heart but shoved it aside, lowering my head slightly to nibble at the grass," I am." I replied in a simple tone, the sadness I had long fought off from my voice crept into it.

Scorpion-
I stopped short and looked at her "What happened?"

[Artemis Sinfeather]

I stood rigid for a moment before raising my head to look at him, finally letting one tear slip," Murdered, all of them, they made me watch my mother die as they slashed at her." I hung my head as I forced back the memories into their cage, wanting to lock them away once more.

[Guest]

Scorpion-
I clenched my jaw and bit my tongue. I sighed and nodded "I understand" I said and bowed my head, forcing my emotions back. "You might not believe me, but I do"

[Artemis Sinfeather]

I tilted my head slightly at him then closed my eyes, lyrics returned to my mind and I formed the words on my lips, mouthing them delicately. I turned my head slightly and quietly, almost a whisper, said,'' What does the lyric; Viper caught the Scorpion.. mean to you?''

Scorpion-
I sighed. "When I was young, my mother and clan was murdered by another clan, they were cold, literally. The one who killed my mother was Sub-Zero, and he almost killed me. He would've killed me, but instead, he killed my father. His name was also Scorpion. Viper caught the Scorpion, is what my mother whispered to me before he was killed. Ever since, Sub-Zero and I have rivaled, trying to defeat the other, but we never can. Viper caught the Scorpion is what keeps me from giving up and running away."

[Artemis Sinfeather]

I looked at him softly, a gaze that radiated warmth,'' What if I told you a secret?'' I whispered, half to myself, my birthname, a right a could not flee from. I had changed it when I came of age to Tekila, after my mother. Would this Scorpion look at me any differently if he knew my true name? From a weak and innocent mare to a deadly mare suited only for murder..?

Scorpion-
"I would keep it a secret" I told her honestly, and looked up, watching her carefully.

I twitched one ear,'' Your name is Scorpion, right?'' I asked gently, calming my nerves as the memory of my name circled my brain.

I nodded and eyed her curiously, wondering what she was worked up about..

I flicked one ear back slightly as I began to speak,'' My name. Is. Viper.'' saying each word carefully but forcing the bitterness of the memory out of my head.

"And what does that mean to you" I asked, holding the shock from my voice.

I bit my lip slightly, small droplets of crimson sprung from my lip,'' It is a curse to me. Bound to walk alone.'' I added with a slight pang of pain in my tone.
